Perfect Basics - Number 2

  Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 8:00 AM   |    Post a Comment     Tagged:,,,
Here's the second edition of Perfect Basics! Today I'm going with a "classic" (*see below) item that many women lust over: The Black Christian Louboutin pump! There are many different styles of these so whenever I save up all the money for these babies I'll have to go to a store and try them all on to see what looks best. But just looking online I have fallen in love with these Leather Platform Pumps, they are just PERFECT! The price on the other hand, at $795, is not so perfect. *sigh*
I'm not sure I'm quite ready to drop this much money on a pair of shoes yet, but they will last a long time and they are timeless so I can wear them until I am an old woman (except they are a bit tall so I'm not sure about that...I could get the non-platform version though). These are definitely going to have to be on a MAJOR sale before I buy them, but a girl can dream.

But on the other hand, I could settle for these gorgeous Miu Mius that are $200 less,  but in this case I think I may want to spend the extra for the Louies.  I can get something else Miu Miu ;)

*UPDATE: I should note that when I do these perfect basics posts they are more specified towards me and what I tend to wear. Your basics may be totally different than mine, and that's what is so great about fashion! :D P.S. Check out this article on "Classics" That Emily sent me ;)

  2. Haha, you know how I feel about basics... I'd rather have my green sneakers. Seriously, I would not get anything with that tall a platform and expect it to be in style forever. That's a look I very much associate with here and now...

Actually, here's an interesting article I read about "the basics." ; )

  9. Even though they are classics, I don't think I'd want to spend that much money on a plain black pump - somehow spending the extra coin would seem more merited on something that felt really unique.
Of course, I haven't tried them on. I have this belief that an $800 shoe would be the most comfortable shoe in the universe and no wonder they cost so much because you could practically sleep in them.

  10. Oh CL how you make a girl swoon!! I definitely intend to own them one day. But it would have to be a really big reward. Like maybe my first big raise at work or something?

  11. Those shoes are so classic and lovely...if I ever can figure out how to walk naturally in heels, I'd love a pair like those. :D

  12. Definitely some basics are screaming very load here! those shoes are fantastic, but Im not sure about how are you going to wear them at you 90's (lol)

I think (I don't know why) that my favourites are the MIuMiu, maybe because they are cheaper and my mind is screaming "you have a small budget"

    :D
    See you!

  13. As much as I love Louboutin, I'm not a fan of how they fit. The sides are a bit low so it makes it hard to keep your foot in! But they are gorgeous shoes.

    Have a great day!

  21. If you have the money for the louboutins, you should get them! No other shoe has the lines and design element of louboutins. You'll thank yourself in 5 years when you're still wearing them!

If I had an extra $200 laying around, I'd invest in chanel earrings. Yep, that'd be my basic splurge :)

  22. they are both gorge but I would go with the Loubs too! xo

  26. I used to think someday I'd buy a pair. Now I'm not so sure. It just seems like such a waste, no matter how much money I will eventually be making (which will be tons, of course!). ;) I do think I'd buy them if they were in the $500 range, though (do the classics ever go on sale?).

  27. What girl doesn't just dream of the day that she can prance around in those timeless shoes??? Perfect post! :)

Those shoes you linked above was lovely, but I am not so much for simple black pumps, unless you got a really spectacular dress to wear it to. :)
