This Week in Fashion

The first week of the new year is over, it wasn't too horrible. We had Monday off, which was good, I only left the house for about an hour and a half to get groceries and a Duchess hotdog (long dog with ketchup and bacon) for lunch, but I took a photo anyway. If you are ever on the East Coast and see a Duchess make sure to go there for a hot dog...they are DELICIOUS! The rest of the week was full of work and watching movies and Gilmore Girls.

I wore my other new sweaters this week (Monday and Tuesday), the second one is a tank top which is nice because it won't add extra bulk. I had been looking for a white (or any color) fisherman knit sweater and finally found it at TJ Maxx. Funnily enough, it was made in Ireland and came with a fun tag with information on each of the stitches.  And the weird thing is, I used to HATE turtlenecks (I feel like they're choking me) but I have been obsessed with them lately!!! Funny how things change as you get older, right?

Monday: Sweater: Inis Crafts (TJ Maxx) gift, Jeans: Free People (Gilt Groupe) gift card, Booties: No.704b. (DSW) $20, Purse: LAUREN Ralph Lauren gift, Watch: Michael Kors
Tuesday: Tank Top: Willi Smith (TJ Maxx) gift, Blazer: Moschino Cheap & Chic (eBay) $27, Pants: Glo ?$, Pumps: Candie's $12, Watch: Michael Kors, Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Wednesday: Sweater: Willi Smith hand-me-down, Skirt: fabric from Mood & made by mom, Heels: Forever 21 $25, Watch: Michael Kors, Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Thursday: Pants: Michael by Michael Kors (Marshalls) $40, Top: Willi Smith (TJ Maxx) $13, Cardigan: Calvin Klein (Marshalls) $20, Heels: Miu Miu (eBay), Watch: Michael Kors, Purse: Mulberry won from The Flower Girl
Friday: Jeans: Free People (TJ Maxx) $30, Tank: Ellen Tracy (TJ MaxX) $12, Sweater: Kohl's gift, Booties: Alexander Wang via The Outnet birthday gift, Necklace c/o Towne and Reese,  Watch: Michael Kors, Purse: Mulberry won from The Flower Girl

  2. That contest sounds really cool but all I can think about is kicking myself for being in the area for 6 years and never trying a Duchess hotdog!

  7. I think its partly due to how styles evolve and how we perceive them. There are tons of things I refused to wear, even claimed I hated before I started the blog, but once I saw tons of other people wearing them I couldn't help but to fall in love. It happens again and again!

Generally I try to avoid turtle necks or high necked items in general since they tend to draw emphasis to the chest, but who knows... maybe you'll see me in one next week.

  42. I'm the same re turtlenecks.

When I was a kid, my mother almost had to tape them on so I wouldn't take them off when the weather turned cold :)

Now I happily wear them 6-7 months of the year.
