I picked a bad day to wear this sweater. I was also really stupid and got a (free) venti hot chocolate and proceeded to overheat. So after getting home from grocery shopping (and a Target trip) with my mom I changed clothes. Ha ha. Also: wear socks when you wear sneakers. I got sneaker burn on my big toes and blisters on my heels. GAH!!! On the plus side, I quite like all my turquoise accents in this outfit!

Sweater: Inis Crafts (Marshalls), Jeans: Genetic Denim, Sneakers: Ked's (DSW), Necklace: House of Harlow 1960 'Sunburst'

This hoodie used to be one of my favorite pieces of clothing! I got it at least 8 years ago at TJ Maxx, an awesome clearance find. I think I "splurged" and paid $30 for it...funny how that used to be a splurge. I shudder to think of what my splurges cost now.  Anywhooooo...I try to bring this out at least once a year even though I don't wear hoodies too often anymore. I also have to be selevtive about when I wear it because some of the sequins have started falling off from too much love over the years. I'm not sure if it ever made it's way on to the blog, so that is being rectified now! (I found one post with it, from when Lydia and I went to see The Princess Bride at the drive-in, but you can't really tell what the pattern is like)

This outfit and hair combo makes me look super sporty! Brings me back to my days of gymnastics...wish I could go back and compete again! We're to think I haven't competed in almost 10 years, closer to 9.

Hoodie: Vertigo Paris (TJ Maxx, old), Tee: Cullen (Rue La La), Jeans: Mother c/o Marshalls, Sneakers: Keds (DSW), Necklace: Indulgems (Gilt Groupe), Rings: old, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Lumo 'Violet, Lumo 'Rope',

P.S. Enjoy this throwback video (if it doesn't play, use this link)
The in-between Summer/Fall days where you can wear a sweater with a skirt and not die of heat or freeze your legs off are some of my favorites! On this particular day I headed to a local farm to buy some apple pie and check out their "scarecrow festival" which turned out to be a big blue tarp where you make scarecrows. A bit of a let down, ha ha. But the pie was good!

While I'm perfectly comfortable wearing sweaters with skirts and no tights, I'm still trying to master the sneaker trend without looking like a weirdo. I can't help but feel a little weird in this outfit even though it's cute.  But I didn't get any strange looks, so I guess that's a win!

Sweater: Anthropologie, Skirt: Chanel (Roundabout Resale), Sneakers: Keds (DSW), Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Saks Friends & Family Sale), Watch: Skagen (RueLaLa), Sunglasses c/o GlassesShop

I was provided a credit to 9th & Elm for the purpose of this post, but all opinions are my own

A couple weeks ago, 9th & Elm, a store that offers handmade and independent designs, approached me to try out some items from their website. They even have a great selection of vintage items, I have my eye on a bunch of beautiful rings (and this roadrunner brooch)!  It took me quite a while to decide what I wanted since they have so much to offer! But finally I decided and waited anxiously for the times to arrive.

I bought: Oui Oui Paris Tee V-Neck Tee, Owl Cuff in Red and a Blue/Orange i-Glow phone case.
Other items: Skirt: Made by Mom, Sneakers: Keds (DSW), Necklace: BijouLimon (etsy)

This tee is super soft and I love the nod to Paris, I really want to get back there some day! I was only there for 12 hours the first time I went, and that was over 3 years ago now.  And I am obviously a huge fan of this owl cuff! I have amassed quite the collection of owl pieces over the years and now they happen to be trendy - score!

How cool is this case?! It even has a spot for a card, be it an ID, credit card or a Starbucks Gold Card (I don't even drink coffee! Ha ha. Yay for hot chocolate and baked goods)

A quick pause from vacation outfits and photos for a French Wardrobe Challenge update!

I knocked out 2 of my five items this month during Net-a-Porter's End of Season Sale. I bought a Carven skirt I've had my eye on and the Ancient Greek Sandals that have been in my wishlist for months.  I can't wait to wear the skirt and have already worn the sandals a bunch of times. So far I'm really happy with each of my items, except the Alberto Makali set, guess that will teach me to not impulse buy.  Anyone want to buy them off me? ;)

I also bought a bunch of items for a collaboration I'm doing with ThredUp, but they haven't arrived yet so I'll update the post with a photo of those pieces when I get them.

THE RULES
  1. Just five standout pieces per season.
  2. Quality over quantity.
  3. Basics don’t count.
  4. Accessories don’t count, unless you’re spending a lot more than usual.
  5. Socks and underwear don’t count.
  6. Shoes do count.
MY PROGRESS

Exempt:  Not counting any items I got from brands or bought for Marshalls Project FAB (bought with a gift card)
Don't let the sun in these photos fool you, this Sunday we went back to cold temperatures. Despite the low temps, I've slowly begun to inject some Spring pieces back into my outfits.  It is time for the return of my cute floral jeans from Target and the introduction of my new Keds! Funny how things you used to wear as a child find their way back into your wardrobe. I used to wear Keds ALL the time, but the brand has not seen my feet in over 10 years.

Sweater: Phillip Lim x Target, Jeans: Target, Sneakers: Keds (DSW), Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Saks Friends & Family Sale), Sunglasses: Ray-Ban "Emma" (Marshalls), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Necklace: Grandma's, Bracelets: Ten Thousand Villages, Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's
