This particular throwback needed a MAJOR update. The original, while a good concept, did not work. The jeans were too baggy and the boots did nothing to help that fact. And since this sweater is an extra large I needed everything else to be form-fitting to offset the oversized look up top. I also don't have the original jeans or boots anymore. (I might have the jeans saved in a box because they were one of my first designer buys after seeing that Emma Watson loved the brand, haha) I wore this a couple weekends ago to see Beauty and the Beast with two friends.

Sweater: Tahari (TJ Maxx), Tee: Simple Retro, Jeans: J Brand c/o Marshalls, Boots: Audrey Brooke 'Mirie' (DSW), Sunglasses: Chanel (bought in Greece)

The Original: Sweater: Tahari (TJ Maxx), Jeans: Sass & Bide (eBay), Boots: Vintage (eBay

One of the great things about this sweater is it's so thin you can wear it even when it's really warm out. Unfortunately that wasn't the case the day I wore it. It was rainy and on the chillier side. All items are the same, except for the jeans.

Tank: Forever 21, Sweater: Tahari (Marshalls), Jeans: Free People, Flats: Chaps (Kohl's)

The Original:

Slightly warmer weather is the perfect opportunity to wear thin layers, like this pretty Tahari sweater. It is super thin and super soft but once we hit the super cold temperatures I find myself wearing it less and less in favor of my chunkier knits. I wore this to hang out at my Grandmother's house over the weekend.

Cardigan: Tahari (TJ Maxx) , Tee: Cullen (Rue La La), Jeans: Michael Kors (Marshalls), Flats: Diane von Furstenberg (Marshalls)

Here it is, my last outfit post of 2014! Wow, can't believe it...can you? The title is a play on The Hobbit's final movie hashtag: #OneLastTime. Are you guys Middle Earth fans? Some of you will know that Lord of the Rings is my favorite film series (yes, even more than Harry Potter, books are my jam there) so this last journey to Middle Earth was a particularly bittersweet one. I went with my friend who I saw all the movies with for the first time (except Fellowship, which I didn't see in theaters.) I thought it was a good end to the whole six movie series. It was never going to be as good as Lord of the Rings but I think it's a great intro into the series.

I wore this the second time I went to see the movie. I went once with my friend and then the day after Christmas with my brother, sister and her boyfriend.  I preferred the non-3D version, but I may just be strange. Ha ha.

Sweater: Tahari (TJ Maxx), Tee: Everlane, Jeans: Mother c/o Marshalls, Boots: Vince Camuto (Marshalls, gift), Necklace c/o Gorjana Griffin

In contrast to yesterday's post, where I didn't want to wear all black, here's a black outfit! As you can see, my mood changes on the day. This is an outfit I find myself wearing over and over again because it's so easy. Some people don't like repeating outfits, I say why not?! If you like it, wear it again. Most people won't notice, and if they do, who cares?

I just love how the sweater barely comes above the hem of my skirt, the play in proportion makes me feel a lot taller than my 5'2" height. The sweater isn't supposed to be this long, but I bought a size large because it was all they had and I liked it. As long as I don't button it, you'd never know that it's the wrong size. I believe it was only $20 and I've had it for at least 4 years.

And how cute are these bow earrings from Lauren Conrad's collection at Kohl's?

Top: Cullen (RueLaLa), Sweater: Tahari (TJ Maxx), Skirt: T by Alexander Wang (NET-A-PORTER), Shoes: Vince Camuto (Marshalls), Tights c/o Wolford, Earrings: LC by Lauren Conrad c/o Kohl's

Here is one of my typical weekend looks (minus the wedges): sweater, jeans, ponytail and no makeup. I don't generally wear much makeup every day, but on the weekends I'm usually far too lazy to take the 5 minutes to put on blush, eyeshadow, mascara and lipstick. It's good for you to give your skin a break from time to time anyway.

I wore this on Sunday where we had a little bit of rain, but not as much as Saturday.  There was still a chill in the air so I doubled up on my sweaters. I was in such a lazy mood that I even forgot to put on my rings and watch! *gasp*

Friday again! This week actually went by pretty quickly, which I am glad of. I've been super tired lately and waking up at 5:30 wasn't helping the situation. Thankfully I was able to stay home yesterday too so I caught up on a little more sleep since I was able to sleep until 9. But  now I can have a nice, relaxing weekend! So far no plans, I'll probably catch up on all the old movies I have DVR-ed.

Monday: Turtleneck Tank: Willi Smith (TJ Maxx) $15, Blazer: Darjoni (Good Will), Jeans: rag & bone (Shopbop), Heels: Lanvin (Roundabout Consignments), Necklace: Grandma's, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's

Tuesday:  Top: Everlane, Skirt: T by Alexander Wang (net-a-porter), Cardigan: Tahari (TJ Maxx), Booties: R2 (DSW), Necklace: Vanessa Mooney (giveaway), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's
On my last trip to Marshalls (when I was shopping for my brownies post) I came across an amazingly soft Max Studio blanket.  At only $20, I had to have it.  I walked by the pajama section and spotted a maroon pj set by Tahari that was also super soft and once again was only $20.  I haven't bought a pajama set in years, I usually just wear an old tshirt (or one of my brothers' old sweaters) and gymnastics sweatpants. It's so nice to have an actual matching set now. No lounge day would be complete without a nice mug of hot chocolate, so I picked up an adorable maroon mug to match the pajamas and some specialty hot chocolate mix.  Even my nail polish (OPI) is from Marshalls!

This is how you'll find me on most Fall/Winter days.  I love curling up with a blanket in my comfortable clothes with some hot chocolate and a good book or movie. Although I must admit it is usually a movie, I haven't been reading much lately. After we took these photos I settled down on the couch with my family for a Star Trek marathon because my parent's hadn't seen the new ones yet.

Speaking of parents, these photos are by my Dad. Photography is one of his hobbies (along with cars) and we have some of his photographs displayed in the house. I don't know why I haven't had him take my photos before. I guess it's because I feel awkward, we laughed a lot during this shoot. Maybe I'll ask him to do it more often, especially because he's the one with the nice camera, unlike me with my tripod & mid-range Nikon (which I am quite fond of, but it's no DSLR.)

* Disclosure: I have received free products or value from Marshalls or The TJX Companies, Inc. in connection with my affiliation with Marshalls Project FAB.
Welcome to the first This Week in Fashion post of 2013! It's a quick one today because I only went into the office Wednesday and Thursday (I work from home on Friday's now.)  I had a different outfit planned for Thursday, but it has been FREEZING (outside and in the office) so I decided to wait until next week when it will be warmer.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend planned. I'm not sure what I will be doing yet, probably being a couch potato at home.  I've been catching up on my movie watching the past couple of weeks, I'm up to 1,052 seen in my lifetime (that I can remember). AND, the 5th season of my favorite show, Merlin, premieres on SyFy tonight! I already watched the season while it was airing in the UK, but I'm going to watch again because that's how amazing it is. If you haven't seen the show I advise you to netflix/amazon instant video/whatever the series, it is AMAZING. This is the final season, which is a bit depressing, but it was a good 5 years.

Wednesday: Sweater: French Connection (TJ Maxx), Skirt: Vince Camuto (Lord & Taylor), Booties: White Mountain c/o Marshalls, Necklace: Francesca's, Watch: Michael Kors

Thursday: Top: Splendid (net-a-porter), Sweater: Tahari (TJ Maxx), Jeans: Free People (Gilt), Boots: vintage (eBay), Watch c/o Caravelle by Bulova
Since there are only two outfits today I thought I would share something else. The Net-a-Porter End of Season Sale (US) is almost done, it ends this Sunday. Make sure to snap up some great steals before it's too late! My order came yesterday, I'll share what I got next week! :)

Things are slowly getting back to normal in Meganville.  I went into work every day this week and my house is almost ready to be lived in again so my roommate and I will be reunited soon! I've been going through withdrawls.  But things are getting back to normal just in time for things to go crazy again. We are entering the holiday season so there will be tons of family gatherings and other traditions to contend with.  And yesterday I got some news that might change a LOT in my life...nothing bad, but nothing I can share yet.

In other news, what is happening to me?! I wore flats every day this week!  It was just because I was too lazy to carry an extra bag with my heels in it. :) I was apparently having a gray/purple moment as well.

What are your plans for the weekend? I will be doing absolutely nothing, I'm pooped.

This past Sunday I went to another blogger meetup, this time with Lydia, Courtney and Christine! I had already met Lydia and Courtney but this was my first meeting with Christine and she is awesome! We met up in Milford at Stonebridge Restaurant (which is literally 5 minutes from my house) for brunch.  I had a delicious plate of French toast and the other girls had some form of eggs. After we were fed and watered we headed to my house so we could walk to the beach and take our group and outfit photos!  That was easier said than done, as it was SUPER windy. Our hair was blowing everywhere as was the sand, but it was fun and we all enjoyed ourselves.  I just love blogger meetups, I'm always nervous beforehand because I'm so shy, but I loosen up and enjoy myself pretty quickly. So here we go with our photos, as you can see we all look pretty amazing!
[me, Lydia, Courtney, Christine]

Courtney: Shorts: H&M, Tights: Target, Top: ModCloth, Cardigan: Urban Outfitters, Boots: Aldo, Cuffs: F21, Jacket: Urban Outfitters, Purse: UO
Christine: Coat: American Eagle, Cardigan: Banana Republic, Blouse: BCBG, Jeans: F21, Boots: Rosegold, Bag: H&M, Scarf: thrifted, Sunglasses: gift
Lydia: Striped Top: Old Navy, Coral Jeans: TJ Maxx, Moto Jacket: Express, Booties: Madden Girl, Clutch: Zara Jewelry: Towne & Reese, Taken for Granite, House of Harlow, Kie & Kate, Anjolee, Sunglasses: Halston

My outfit: Jeans: Free People (Marshalls) $30, Sweater: Tahari (TJ Maxx) $20, Tank: Forever 21, Wedges: R2 (DSW) $35, Bag: Chanel, Bracelets c/o 31 Bits, Alligator Pin: Laila Rowe, Coat: DKNY, Watch: Michael Kors, Sunglasses:  Marc by Marc Jacobs Shopbop gift card

Here are some more details of my outfit, this is a blog about my style after-all. ;)  I feel very exposed on top in this outfit (and I'm not even exposed), I'm not used to wearing such low cut tank tops with nothing over them...you all know how I'm always covered up, ha ha.

After photo taking we headed to Plato's Closet where I found an amazing pair of leopard flats that I used to have but loved too much and ruined them. I was going to buy them, because they were only $14, but I resisted and let Courtney have them ;) Then we went to Marshalls. I bought 2 things that are slightly too big but I don't care, they were too good to pass up. I got an amazing Michael Kors skirt for $10 (regular $80) and gorgeous Franco Sarto maroon boots for $15 (regular $80?). The boots are a size 9 and I'm usually an 8 or 8.5 but I'll just stuff something in the toes and they'll be fine. Theoretically the skirt should have been too small or just right (since it was a 2) but it was a little big...so weird!
Christine, the amazing woman that she is, brought us all little gift bags with some handmade items and other fun things! How weird is it that I got a cute knitted owl?! She didn't even know I was obsessed with them, woo! You can buy your own owl, or many other adorable items at Christine's Etsy!

And here are two amusing photos to demonstrate the wind and craziness that ensued while taking these photos.
Photos by me, Lydia and Courtney!
