Super short post today because I'm not really a fan of how this outfit turned out. But, rather than delete the photos and forget it ever happened, I figured I would share them anyway.  I wanted to wear this sweater, because it's awesome. But I didn't want to wear it with jeans again so I decided to pair it with these pants. I had wanted to wear heels, but sadly have no heels that matched, so I was reduced to wearing flats which make me look frumpy in these pants. And, to top it all off, this outfit is not photogenic at all! I wanted to delete every single picture, but I figure it's okay to show you guys that I'm not perfect. Not that my photos are perfect to begin with, but you get what I mean. It was good in theory, just not execution.

So there you have it...stick with what you know, folks! If I had just worn jeans, as is my uniform, this would have been a much better outfit.

Sweater: Phillip Lim x Target, Pants: Kenar c/o Marshalls, Flats: Liz Claiborne (DSW), Watch:  Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Henry Dinky' (Gilt)

Examples of both pieces in much better outfits:

Yesterday I shared my outfit from the Christmas Tree Farm, so today I'm sharing some pictures of the farm itself. For those of you in Connecticut, it's Jones Family Farms. This year there was a perfect blanket of snow covering the farm, great for getting us into the holiday spirit!

The Friday after Thanksgiving, as is tradition, we went to get our family Christmas Tree!  For as long as I can remember, my family has headed over to Jones Tree Farm to pick out our perfect tree!  This year we had perfect weather, it wasn't too cold and it got windy just as we were leaving, talk about perfect timing.  The sun was shining the whole time, so unfortunately the colors in most of my photos are a bit off.

I took this opportunity to wear one of my new "holiday" sweaters. While the animals on this sweater are indeed llamas, I still think it is holiday appropriate, especially with the jewels. With this new piece I wore some old stand-bys. My American Eagle coat that I've had since before college and old boots my Grandmother bought at least 25 years ago.

Sweater: J Crew (Factory), Jeans: Free People (eBay), Jacket: American Eagle, Boots: from Grandma, Sunglasses: Ray Ban 'Emma' (Marshalls)

Here's an outfit from the weekend before Thanksgiving. I wore this outfit on Friday and Saturday, just with a different shirt and shoes! What can I say, this sweater is comfy! Plus I was sleeping over my aunt's house and didn't want to bring two full outfits.

(and no, my hair is not greasy, it's just wet from showering. I never blow-dry my hair so occasionally I have to take my pictures with wet hair)

Top: Altuzarra for Target, Sweater: J.Crew (Roundabout Resale), Jeans: Michael Kors (Marshalls), Boots: Eighteen68 'Megan' (Gilt),  Sunglasses c/o Glasses Shop

Joules gifted the items featured in this post, but all opinions are my own.

Would you believe me if I told you I never owned a quilted jacket until now?  I just never got around to buying one, so when Joules asked me what products from their site I wanted to test drive, this quilted hooded jacket was at the top of the list! I also picked out a really cute pair of wellies for days when I want a bit more whimsy in my rain gear.

Winter is on the horizon (okay, we still have a couple weeks to go, but the weather is certainly veering in that direction) and Joules has an amazing selection of jackets, dresses, rain boots and faux fur pieces, perfect for your Winter wardrobe. Their children's clothing is also making me wish I had kids to dress: SO adorable! Just look at how cute this little boy's fox sweater is.

See how I styled both my new pieces below!
