This wall at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk was just asking to be the backdrop for some outfit photos! We took a super quick walk on the boardwalk after having lunch at Havanas, so delicious!  After that I had to do some work in my uncle's van while everyone else did some shopping! Thank goodness for my iPhone's mobile hotspot so I could work on the go!

Even though it was cold (and windy!) in North Carolina we made some time to walk on the beaches, even if we were bundled up! (I put my shoes on for the outfit photos) On this day we visited a different beach and then had dinner at my aunt's house followed by old family photos and some REALLY old slides of my Dad's family from the 50s/60s.

Last week I took a half vacation to North Carolina with my family. I went with my parents, aunt, uncle and cousin to visit family who moved down there a few years ago. I say half vacation because I was working during the trip. I've been taking so many vacations the past couple years that sometimes I have to be responsible and work while I'm away.  But it's always nice to have a change of scenery and get to take a few hours during the day for fun activities! That's what I love about being self-employed, no office means I can work from anywhere!

We stayed on Carolina Beach in Wilmington and this pier was steps outside where we were staying. We had a beautiful view of the ocean right outside our room so while it was cold and windy we could still enjoy the beach from the comfort of our rooms!

Jacket: Cloth + Stone (Marshalls), Top: Zara, Jeans: Frame 'Le Skinny de Jeanne' (Shopbop), Sandals: Ancient Greek Sandals 'Athanasia' (Moda Operandi), Sunglasses: Ray Ban 'Erika' (Ditto)

We've had quite the cold snap this week starting with some snow on Sunday. We've had snow in April before (even May!) but it's still annoying.  But it did give me a chance to wear my cozy Witchery sweater again!

Sweater: Witchery, Jeans: J Brand '811 Mid-Rise Skinny', Loafers: Joie, Necklace: House of Harlow 1960 'Sunburst Pendant'

This shirt may be one of my best thrifting buys from a couple years ago. I paid ONE DOLLAR for it and have worn it at least 10 times, which means it's cost per wear is 10 cents per wear at the most. Insanity!  And this Moschino jacket was one of my first few designer eBay finds in 2008 or 2009! Ahh, memories.

Shirt: thrifted, Blazer: Moschino Cheap & Chic (eBay), Jeans: Free People (Gilt Groupe),  Booties: Alexander Wang 'Freja' (The Outnet)
