Closet Fashionista's Spending Challenge: July Recap

I was very good this month until the end...then I bought 3 things. *sigh* As many of you have probably seen from my post last week I got a Marc by Marc Jacobs Aiden bag in Bright Purple! It was a HUGE splurge at $300 but its worth it. I was sick of carrying around my dying Mulberry for Target bag that started falling apart after a month so I finally decided to spend the money on a quality purse that will last me a long time.

Even if I only use it for a year it still works for the cost per wear ratio, so I'm good with that. I am going to be using this purse every day for work so it is DEFINITELY going to get lots of use, so I would say it is definitely worth ponying up the extra cash.

I also had a mini shopping spree at Marshalls while on a short weekend vacation and spent $55 on some Michael Kors pants and a Calvin Klein sweater. But I was on vacation, so I'm forgiven, everyone is bad on vacation, ha ha.

Hopefully I behave myself better next month, but I doubt it...I always seem to find something. Though the last thing I bought before these three things was my Michael Kors watch on June 8th, so I went a month and a half without buying clothes. And I'm also moving out so I'll have to be good, hopefully knowing that most of my money needs to go for the house and furnishing it will help to curb my spending.

  9. So you spent $300 on ONE bag - well done.

    It would seem:
    a) you pay yourself too much
    b) someone else pays you too much, or
    c) eating up the trust fund, eh?

  12. c´mon, everything you bought is a good buy, worth of the price you paid. When I bought the Furla Candy Bag (170 pounds) I also told myself I would be wearing it everyday till next Spring... and it´s been a month now that I carry it everywhere!!

  15. That bag was an good investment, sure expensive now, but in the long run I believe it is worth it. :) Myself, I am eyeing an Stella McCartney bag, but first I am buying myself a new camera and a pair of descent winter boots, about time I do it.

  21. I'm going cold turkey. I haven't bought any clothes, shoes, accessories in almost a month and I hope it stays that way for a while. Need to save money. Blogs make it so tempting to splurge though, haha. Love the new bag.

  26. We can't be good all the time! Especially when it comes to investment purchases. I haven't been too wise with my money lately, but I have been incredibly picky this summer. I've been making it a point to only buy things I love. For instance, I didn't really need a Kate Spade pineapple cocktail ring. It was on sale for $70 and kind of a ridiculous splurge. But I can't tell you how happy it makes me. It's a far cry from a handful of F21 impulse purchases.
