As you read this I am in the car on the way to Ohio (for 10+ hours....oy) to attend my cousin's wedding tomorrow afternoon!! She is the first in our family to get married and I'm so happy for her!  Ever since they let us know it would be a summer wedding I was trying to decide what to wear, as all girls do. This is my first wedding as an adult (the last wedding I attended to was my Aunt's when I was 7).  It's so hard to decide what to wear to a wedding, you don't want to be over or under-dressed, so the time of year and location is a big factor.

Originally I was going to wear the Oasis dress I wore to High Tea in London last summer, then it changed to the Edun dress I wore at the opening of the Harry Potter Studio Tour in March. But then the net-a-porter sale came and I FINALLY had the perfect dress, by Burberry London! I decided to dress it down a bit with espadrilles because it is a daytime wedding, I also decided on the wedges so my feet don't die...

Here is what I will be wearing, you'll get to see the full outfit when I return next week (and maybe some candid shots if I can grab them from my uncle's camera before we leave)!  What do you think? Did I do a good job deciding what to wear? And don't tell me no because I've changed my mind far too many times!

Dress: Burberry London splurge...
Wedges: Burberry (The Outnet Clearance Sale) $80
Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs (net-a-porter end of season sale 2010) gift card
Jewelry: Acanthus Gemma necklace (giveaway win), c/o OASAP watch, assorted mixed metal bangles (shown)

(An early) Congratulations to Jill and Jon!!! Love you guys! :)

P.S. I made a really quick video preview of the outfit using VideofyMe's iPhone App, watch below and please "heart" it for me! (I'm in a competition)
I was recently introduced to another awesome high fashion store, Matches Fashion; they are online and have 4 stores around the UK! Matches carries a wide variety of designers from Alexander McQueen to Mary Katrantzou and even vintage Chanel! They also have items exclusive to them which you can check out here. I decided to put together an outfit with pieces from the store. Now the question is, who is going to buy everything for me?!

Tee - Stella McCartney
Pants - Rag & Bone
Boots - Acne 'Pistol'
Bag - Balenciaga 'City'
Necklace - Mulberry
Ring - Yves Saint Laurent 'Arty'

P.S. How awesome is this Houses of Parliament swimsuit by We are Handsome that is exclusive to the store...I want it!!!
This past weekend I spent lots of time with my roommate and our best friend. On Saturday we went shopping, out to eat, and they went out while I stayed home and relaxed. Then Sunday we went out for breakfast, to the beach, watched Harry Potter, went out to eat again, then some more Harry Potter (One friend hasn't seen all of them so we're watching them all in a row so she can catch up).

All of these activities required outfits, so I decided to do a little challenge with myself and styled this floral crop top I bought last year for $5 at Kohl's in different ways! Since I'm not working right now I need to get a lot better at remixing all of my pieces because I won't be able to buy too many clothes while I figure my life out.

Look 1: This look is perfect for when it is warm out but a little chilly. Just take some wide leg jeans, sandals and a light sweater and you're good to go!

Top: Mudd $5, Sweater: Kohl's gift, Jeans: Free People (Marshalls) $40, Sandals: Crown Vintage (DSW) $45, Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs gift card, Sunglasses: Michael Kors (Marshalls) $20, Bracelets c/o 31 Bits, Rings: Mom's, Watch: Michael Kors

Look 2: This look is for when it is so hot out that you would rather walk around naked.  Pair the top with sandals and a thin skirt so it won't be plastered to your body when copious amounts of water come out of your legs, stomach and arms. (luckily we aren't at this stage of summer yet)

Top: Mudd $5, Skirt: made from old dress, Sandals: Madden Girl (TJ Maxx) $20, Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs gift card, Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop) gift card

Look 3: Is a variation of look 1 but tailored for when it is a BIT hotter out. Wear some boyfriend jeans (perhaps with some rips so that your legs are ventilated,) and a light sweater with some flat sandals.

Top: Mudd $5, Sweater: Urban Outfitters $0, Jeans: American Eagle $15, Sandals: Target (similar) $15, Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs gift card, Sunglasses: Michael Kors (Marshalls) $20, Necklace: etsy $8, Bracelets: old, Rings: Mom's, Watch: Michael Kors

First of all, I want to say Happy 21st Birthday to my brother!! (not that he reads my blog) He makes me feel so old, we're only 3 years apart but thinking about the fact that I have 21 and (almost) 16 year old brothers is depressing!

Anywayyyy, ever since I bought these amazing Zara Floral print shorts I've been dreaming up ways to wear them. The problem is I don't have any of the pieces to do it! I've been out shopping a few times but never seem to find the exact pieces I want.  So today I decided to make my dream outfit, this is one of the ways I'd love to wear them. I went all out with a Mary Katrantzou top, so gorgeous! But I am most likely going to wear it more simply and ease into print mixing. I also tried to use the accessories to pull out some of the colors in the prints, like the Miu Miu heels that I've been obsessed with for months, such a pretty color!
Shorts - Zara
Top: Mary Katrantzou
Sandals: Miu Miu
Bag: Michael by Michael Kors
Watch: Nixon
Necklace: Rosantica

Other, simpler, top options:
Top: Equipment (The Outnet) $87.50 [regular $250]
Top: Diane von Furstenberg (The Outnet) $89.10 [Regular $198]
It is a jungle out there, so why not showcase your wild side with an eye-catching animal print? Whether you prefer bold leopard or graphic zebra, there’s only one pattern to purchase this season. Here are our tips on how to wear this statement story…

Do: Flatter Your Body Shape
The trick to making animal prints work is to wear them so they accentuate your best features. If you have an hourglass waist, a snakeskin belt over a plain dress will complement your frame; if you have great legs, try a statement mini skirt to make them look fabulous.
Do: Dress in Moderation
Animal print may be all the rage, but it can look a little distasteful its worn head-to-toe. Go neutral with your shoes and other accessories to ensure you don’t go overboard. In fashion it’s all about ‘less is more’.
Do: Try Something Bold
Fashion is all about reinventing trends and finding out what works for you. So be a bit adventurous and try mixing and matching fabrics. Understated knitted dresses can be livened up with the addition of accessories in zebra, leopard or tiger print; if you are wearing a printed dress, why not opt for glossy black belt, shoes or clutch?
Do not: Go Overboard
Never mix two prints that clash - wear a single print at a time as too many spots or stripes will appear trashy. Remember the ‘less is more’ rule, always.

Do not: Try to be too Sexy
With animal prints, looking sexy is only a matter of attitude, but remember to avoid lace, diamantes, and other add-ons that make it look like a Halloween costume. Just pair this trend with an edgy attitude and some simple accessories and you are ready to go!

The latest issue of NET-A-PORTER's online magazine featured all things French and was called "The Paris Portfolio"! The issue contains interviews with fashionable French women such as Isabel Marant, French designers to keep a lookout for, beauty tips, how to dress with the simplicity of the French and much more! There is also a video where French women (and men) talk about the secrets of French style.

Doesn't it make you jealous how effortless they look all the time?! Well today I have a few quick tips on how you can dress like the beautiful Parisian hiding inside of you! (that sounded weird, but let's pretend it makes sense) I've decided to create a couple looks using some of the classic french pieces we all know and love: the striped shirt, skinny pant, flats and the trench!

You can put your own twist on this look and come up with infinite variations that fit your own personal style. For example, you can wear a striped top with sequins on it (or perhaps different types of stripes), trade the pants for shorts or switch the basic flats for sequin brogues or flat sandals. You also want to make sure you keep your accessories simple, the French are known for not going over the top.

Sweater - J.Crew
Pants - J Brand Denim
Flats - Marc by Marc Jacobs
Trench - Burberry Brit
Necklace - Mathais Chaize
Purse - Marc by Marc Jacobs

Sweater - Etoile Isabel Marant
Pants: Paul & Joe
Flats - Repetto
Trench - A.P.C.
Watch - Gucci
Purse - DKNY

Would you guys like me to do a Dress for Less version of the Parisian look? Let me know in the comments and, if enough of you want, it I'll whip one up!

For more inspiration on dressing this way, I suggest you check out Becky May's blog: The Flower Girl. She may be a Brit but she dresses like a Parisian, I am in awe of how simply she dresses - she always looks amazing.
