Follow Me

Welp, I had a bad month. I went to Marshall's with my mom intending to just buy a new set of dishes - which I did - and walked out with a new pair of pants and shorts. But I've been wanting more think pants for Summer and another pair of shorts to add to my rotation. Both are linen/tencel blends and super soft!

I wore this a few weeks ago to attend a blogger dinner at Eli's Tavern in Milford. I didn't want to wear jeans so I decided to wear my fun Proenza Schouler printed pants! I love these but I always style them the same way, black on top and some sort of heel. I think next time I'll pair them with my knitted tank sweater and some flats for a more dressed down look! And, although this outfit has lots of designer pieces, they were bought resale or on discount. The only full price item here are my sunglasses which were a vacation splurge.

Lydia and I tried multiple locations for these photos before the dinner so you get a mix of backgrounds to enjoy, ha ha.

Quick post today! Sometimes all you need is a dress and you're good to go. Such is the case with this black floral shirt dress! No accessories apart from shoes and a bag required! I wore this to take my dad out to lunch for Father's Day. We were able to eat outside because it was a beautiful day! Since then, unfortunately, it has been gross and rainy! Hoping it clears up because I'm going camping in Vermont this weekend.

This outfit is full of super soft pieces. These jeans are really soft and not too tight so they're great on warmer days. And this t-shirt I splurged on a few years ago is UUUUUUUBER soft and thin. The only issue with this tee is it's so thin I feel like I have to wear something under it. So for this look I wore a bodysuit underneath that kind of peeks out around the neck, not the chicest solution, but it worked. Everything in this outfit was also bought on discount which shows you don't have to pay full price to dress in all designer clothes.

Earlier this month I went shopping with my Mom. I was only intending on buying new dishes but ended up with a pair of shorts and a pair of pants as well. The dangers of Marshalls, ha ha! I had been wanting a couple new pairs of shorts to add to my Summer rotation and this pair by Splendid are perfect! They're a really soft linen blend and have the fun paper bag waist detail, just on a smaller scale.  They do wrinkle fast so I look a bit disheveled in the photos, but what can you do?

Alsooooo, for you ice cream lovers out there - I was introduced to a new brand this week, Art Cream Ice Cream! They sent me a couple of their ultra-premium ice creams - made with clean ingredients and certified organic milk and cream from a herd of cows in Wisconsin. The brand was founded in 2018 and they focus on happy cows, happy people, quality, community support and creating art!

The ice creams are produced in small batches in “normal" flavors like Chocolate and Cookies & Cream (their best-seller,) plus creative options like Saffron Honey Lemon and Cardamom; 9 tasty options as of right now.

What I love about this brand is the mix of art and flavor. Each flavor has a different container with a painting created specifically for that flavor profile. As a graphic designer I really appreciate this approach to packaging, it makes them so much more fun and unique!

My verdict: Both the Indonesian Vanilla Honey and Cookies & Cream were really good! I think the Vanilla was my favorite, super refreshing. I personally like a higher cookie concentration in cookies & cream but it was delicious as well.  The ice cream is also nice & smooth, no grainy texture that you sometimes get with store-bought.

Select stores in CT, MD, NJ, NY, VA and DC - soon MA & PA - carry the brand for $8.49 a pint. I’ll definitely be trying some of the other flavors this Summer!

P.S. My ice cream scoop is the Midnight Scoop. I got it through Kickstarter 4 years ago, it's amazing!

I've been trying to get photos of this outfit for weeks. I wore it one day and Christian and I were too lazy to take photos so I wore it again another time and STILL didn't take pictures. Finally I wore it to go to my parents for dinner so I could have my Dad take them. Yay backup photographers!

Another frequently worn Summer piece making an appearance this week. We had a SUPER warm day on Memorial Day weekend so I wore this to a family get together where I also got to meet my new nephew - my cousin's baby (yes I looked it up and I can call him that or first cousins once removed.) Last year I bought a second of this dress so I can wear that when this one disintegrates from too much wear.

Dress: ELLE Poppy Zip Up Dress (Kohl's), Espadrilles: Sam Edelman 'Lars' (Net-a-Porter), Sunglasses: Gucci, Necklace: Mom's
