I haven't worn either of these pieces on the blog in quite some time. There were a few times where I threw on this sweater the past few months but never managed to take photos. The jeans on the other hand have been hanging in my closet waiting to be worn.  I've had them for almost 5 years and they've gotten a lot of love in that time, just not recently. That's why I like doing these throwback looks, makes me re-wear pieces that have been neglected.

Sweater: Phillip Lim x Target, Burgundy Leopard Jeans: Current/Elliott (RueLaLa), Mouse Flats: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop), Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop)

Happy first Throwback Thursday of 2017!! Here's an outfit from almost 3 years ago. My how time flies! This outfit looks much better in photographs than it does in person, I have to say. Or maybe it's just because Lydia took these photos for me.

Tee: Everlane, Sweater: rag & bone NM x Target (boys), Skirt: 3.1 Phillip Lim (Net-a-Porter sale), Boots: Gianvito Rossi 'Finlay' (Marshalls)

This isn't exactly the outfit I had in mind but I forgot to grab my purple sweater before leaving the house and was stuck using one of my mom's to get a similar effect. It's okay but my sweater was a darker shade with a few hints of black.  Still, I like that it's time to start layering with light sweater. Plus, we're getting into the weather where it's okay to wear booties with a skirt or shorts! It only lasts for a couple weeks and some people think it looks dumb, but I love it! I also love this jungle print skirt by Carven. I don't wear it nearly as much as I should.

Sweater: Mom's, Top c/o Simple Retro, Skirt: Carven (Net-a-Porter), Boots: 3.1 Phillip Lim 'Peggy' (Barney's Warehouse), Necklace: Grandma's

And here we are with outfit number 2 featuring my Saint Laurent patchwork blouse! For this look I paired it with dark jeans and crazy boots. It was actually warm enough without my jacket, but the wind made it necessary at some times.  You can see the effect the wind had on my hair, there were a bunch of shots with my face obscured by hair, very attractive!

This is what I wore to go to Roundabout with Lydia this past weekend. We were pretty well behaved with me buying a Jason Wu blouse and Lydia picking up a great jacket and blouse! We both had other things we wanted but we resisted the temptation to buy more because of the deep discounts. So hard.

Blazer: Evan Picone, Patchwork Blouse: Saint Laurent (eBay), Jeans: Mother c/o Marshalls, Boots: 3.1 Phillip Lim 'Peggy' (Barneys Warehouse), Bag: Emm Kuo (Roundabout Resale), Sunglasses: Ray Ban 'Erika' (Ditto), Necklace: Acanthus Jewelry

This is one of my more whimsical blazers yet it is still totally wearable because of the limited amount of colors. I feel like a bit of a fraud when I wear it because I don't read as much as I should. I've been doing a lot better this year and a half and have read a good amount. All of Game of Thrones, the Percy Jackson series, Me Before You (to prepare for Matt Lewis being in the film version), The Casual Vacancy and all of J.K. Rowling's Cormoran Strike books. Plus a few more fluffy reads (The Man Repeller and As You Wish) and rereading a few things. I'm currently reading The Heroes of Olympus, the second series in Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson world.

I was a little late to the game reading Rowling's 4 latest books even though I bought them all right when they were released. I had to buy them to support her but didn't think they would be my style. The Casual Vacancy DEFINITELY wasn't me, but I've really been enjoying her books under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.  I read the third novel in her Cormoran Strike series in 2 days when it came out at the end of October.  P.S. If you've read the books and like them, check out my friend's new podcast: The Strike Files.

Blazer: Paul Smith (Roundabout Resale), Turtleneck: Vanessa Bruno (Coco's $10 sale), Jeans: Free People (Marshalls), Boots: 3.1 Phillip Lim 'Peggy' (Barney's Warehouse), Necklace: Indulgems (Gilt)

Who doesn't love a nice comfortable grandpa sweater? Especially when it's Phillip Lim...for Target, ha ha. So far that has been one of my favorite designer collaborations Target has done. I have 3 pieces from the collection and I still wear them. I can't say the same for the others, which have all left my closet. (Except my floral Jason Wu dress and 2 Altuzarra pieces)

Sweater: Madewell, Cardigan: Phillip Lim x Target, Jeans: Mother Denim c/o Marshalls, Boots: Vince Camuto (Marshalls), Necklace: BubuRuby (etsy)

I wanted to get at least one more wear out of this Summer dress before it goes away for months, so I decided to wear it as a shirt and inject Autumn in with some leather! You can also see another attempt at curling my hair without a curling wand. I put my hair into 4 little buns after my shower and slept in them overnight. They're okay, but not perfect yet!

Dress (as shirt): Splendid (Net-a-Porter Sale), Leather Skirt: Siena Style (Coco's $10 sale), Jacket: Elie Tahari x Design Nation (Kohl's), Boots: 3.1 Phillip Lim 'Peggy' (Barney's Warehouse)

Funny story: I've added 3 little black dresses to my closet in the past 12 months. That brings my total count up to 3. They are all vastly different. First is a knitted dress by Phillip Lim, shown here and in this post from Greece. The other two are both Jason Wu, one is a shirt dress, the other is a little more modern (I just bought it so I don't have an outfit post to share.) One thing they have in common is a fun little twist.  This particular dress has a cute tie-front and a flap in the back that moves to show a little bit of skin in the wind. Also, all three were purchased at Roundabout Resale in Westport.

Dress: 3.1 Phillip Lim (Roundabout Resale), Loafers: Burberry Prorsum (Net-a-Porter Sale), Necklace: bought in Santorini

I have returned! And am returning with an outfit that is anything but boring. When my brother saw me in this outfit he said it looked like I was wearing a lampshade...whatever, I think the skirt is fun! Although it's odd shape does make it a challenge to style. This time I decided to wear it with a loose fitting tank and super tall heels. I think it off-sets the skirt nicely.

Sweater Tank: Made by Grandma, Skirt: 3.1 Phillip Lim (Net-a-Porter Sale), Wedges: Steve Madden (DSW)
