Once again it was a very icky week! Spring needs to stick, we've had a few days of amazing weather but those are followed by rainy days. No good!  This weekend I am in for some much needed relaxation, no shopping allowed though because I'm still saving up for Net-a-Porter's end of season sale...whenever that is.  I don't have anything else to say today, so enjoy my outfits!

In other news, yesterday I got a mystery package (see instagram) and when I opened it I saw that it was a Brahmin 'Melbourne - Medium Arno' Croc Embossed Tote from VOGUE (A $245 value)! What a lovely gift to lift up my spirits!  Speaking of gifts, a co-worker gave me an adorable purse necklace on Thursday, it even opens up so I can hide things in it! I was thinking a crisp $20 bill in case I get robbed and they don't think to steal my necklace, ha ha.

Do you ever have one of those days where you wake up and don't want to get out of bed, don't want to go to work, don't want to do anything?!  Well that has been happening to me more and more lately.  I find that when I'm in one of these moods that if I dress like a crazy person I feel much better even if the day sucks. Tuesday was DEFINITELY one of those mornings, so I pulled on my crazy purple pants to lift my spirits. I also wore a beautiful necklace I inherited from my Grandmother after she passed away (10 years ago).  Sadly the day only went downhill from there, I won't bore you with all the details but I will say that I am very depressed because my mouse ring broke in half right at the end of the work day...NOT.FUN.  Enough with this sad talk, here's my awesome outfit!

The time in between seasons is very confusing to dress for. You don't know whether to wear shorts or tights, sweaters or tanks.  The key is to dress in layers so you can adjust your outfit for the weather. Layering works great for the top half of your body, but for the lower half it's a bit more difficult.  So I just went with some light flowy pants that keep you warm but also give you a nice healthy breeze. (did anyone notice that Harry Potter reference? Probably not because I'm a psycho and it's a totally random line)   I did a bit of subtle print mixing with this look as well. One of my print mixing tips is mix a small print with a large print, both using the same color scheme. That way it doesn't overwhelm you. I also mixed girly with edgy/tribal when I chose my accessories.

One of my favorite places to look for affordable pieces is ASOS.  They have pieces for every budget, for those of us living off jelly beans to the lucky ones who can afford to dress head to toe in designers.  They are also great because they have free shipping, I hate when I have found a great piece and then the shipping turns out to be more than the item! With ASOS you don't worry about that.

Bracelet: Forever 21 $4.80

What an icky week! It was rainy, chilly and dreary for the better part of the week but there were some moments of sunshine mixed in. I tried not to let the weather affect my clothing choices like it usually does and I think I did a pretty good job of not dressing drab. I also ate out far too much this week! A diner on Tuesday, Ruby Tuesday's on Thursday and we're getting something junky today at work (maybe Duchess hot dogs...YUM!)  This weekend I get to plant some flowers my parents bought be (if it's not rainy) and I have TONS of magazines to read [2 months worth]...I've had no time lately! But I WILL get through most of them this weekend.

I also NEED to find more of these Free People skinny jeans so I can buy more and have them forever. I have loved them since the moment I bought them on Gilt Groupe but that obviously means that they are going to be hard to find again. I want the exact model, not a similar pair. (meaning this was a pointless ramble since you guys don't know what it is...I think they were called "5 Pocket Skinny Jean in midnight indigo")

I decided to take my own advice and dressed Parisian-ish yesterday.  This obviously isn't as awesome as the outfits I posted yesterday but I worked with what I had!  I bought this perfectly striped sweater at Banana Republic on Saturday for only $9.97...SCORE! Went straight to the clearance section and kept digging hoping I would find something under $20 and, luckily, I did!  I feel a bit Where's Waldo in this because it's so colorful, but that's okay...we can all use a little whimsy in our lives.

Sweater: Banana Republic $10, Pants: ASOS $35, Flats: Missoni for Target $30, Sunglasses: MICHAEL Michael Kors (Marshalls) $20, Bracelets c/o 31 Bits, Rings: old and c/o OASAP, Watch: Michael Kors, Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Even though my outfits may suggest otherwise this was another gloriously warm week, sadly my office is cold so I still need sweaters indoors. But don't worry, after work the sweaters came off and I was either in no sleeves or short sleeves, wahoo!! But next week when I'm in London it will probably be 10-15 degrees cooler, but I can handle it as long as it doesn't rain *knocks on wood*

This weekend is all about London preparations: packing, printing out documents, making lists of everything I'm packing and everywhere I want to go!  I have a feeling I am not going to want to come back, maybe I won't... Any fashion companies in London want to hire me? ;)

[The title has nothing to do with my outfit, but I was listening to that Beatles song when I wrote this post ;) ]

Yesterday was rather interesting... In the morning it was foggy and a nice 50 degrees (F) outside, which in itself is warm for this time of year. BUT when I left work at 5pm it was sunny and an amazing 75 degrees! I still can't believe it is this warm in MARCH...I could totally get used to weather like this.  But it seems like we are going to have a sweltering Summer, at least I live a 4 minute walk from the beach!  I took these photos of my outfit before work when it was chilly, so I had my Ralph Lauren sweater on which is going to be my Spring coat, it is perfect and goes with everything! (It's an XL, but I got it for $25 and I like that it is over-sized.) I also sported my new Michael Kors cat eye sunglasses that I got for $20 at Marshall's this past weekend...SCORE!

Sweater: LAUREN Ralph Lauren (Lord & Taylor) $25, Tank: Ellen Tracy (Marshalls) $12, Pants: ASOS $35, Heels: Miu Miu (eBay), Necklace: Vanessa Mooney giveaway, Rings: old & c/o OASAP, Sunglasses: MICHAEL Michael Kors (Marshalls) $20, Watch: Michael Kors, Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs

And I took a photo after work to show you what a difference 10 hours can make (excuse my squinty face...)

Okay, so I'm not rich, but I am wearing rich colors ;) I love these purple pants so much but whenever I sit down they ride up really far on my leg so I should probably stop wearing them to work because I sit down most of the day...depressing! Today was my first day without my boss, it wasn't as horrible as I thought it would be but I still barely had a moment to breathe.  This should be very interesting, hopefully things don't go terribly wrong...

Pants: ASOS $35, Tee: American Eagle, Blazer: Moschino Cheap & Chic (eBay) $37, Flats: Liz Claiborne (DSW) gift, Watch: Michael Kors, Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Here's my outfit from Monday! I really love how fun these ASOS pants are, they're just so bright and different from anything else I have.  For this first time wearing them I paired them with a cashmere turtleneck sweater and Missoni for Target flats. Next time I'm going to style them a bit crazier, I hope...but this time I wanted to keep things simple. I don't think a week goes by now where I don't wear purple (not counting my purse since I use the same one every day) It's a sickness, but I don't plan on stopping any time soon ;)

Sweater: Willi Smith hand-me-down, Pants: ASOS $35, Flats: Missoni for Target $30, Watch: Michael Kors, Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs via Shopbop gift card
