CAPES! CASHMERE! COMFY! Excuse the all caps, but this cape is one of my favorite things. Sooo soft it feels lke I'm wearing a blanket, which I basically am.  I originally was going to just wear the top and jeans but felt like it was a little boring and decided to add in the cape.  I have had this cape for exactly two years today according to this blog post!

Cashmere Cape: b chyll (Roundabout Resale), Top: Altuzarra x Target, Jeans: Jolt (Marshalls), Sandals: Franco Sarto c/o Marshalls

UPDATE: stuck in Florida until tomorrow because of the latest storm. At least Mother Nature is being kind after making me miss the first day of my trip. But it also means I'm missing more work, not good! Cross your fingers that my flight goes out tomorrow!

I'm home from my trip to Florida! This outfit is from before I left, but hopefully I'm finishing this week with regular outfit posts, but starting next week it's Florida outfits!

This outfit is full of animals! A (faux) fur vest, snakeskin textured jeans, snakeskin print shirt AND leopard print loafers. I may have gone a bit overboard, but it kind of works, right?!

Top: Altuzarra for Target, Faux Fur Vest: French Connection (Marshalls), Jeans: Jolt (Marshalls), Flats c/o Joie

The only good thing about the rain was that the temperature was slightly warmer than it has been, so I didn't die without a coat taking these pictures.  I won this super amazing umbrella from Target a few months ago and never thought I would take pictures of it because I hate taking pictures in the rain. But last Monday I decided to take one for the team and take some rainy day photos! It's so sturdy and expensive looking, you would never know it was from Target. I'm not sure how many of these they made, but I do know they were only given as giveaway prizes. I do love an exclusive!

Umbrella: Altuzarra for Target (giveaway win), Sweater: August Silk (Marshalls), Jeans: Current/Elliott, Boots: Grandma's, Necklace: Marrin Costello

Here's an outfit from the weekend before Thanksgiving. I wore this outfit on Friday and Saturday, just with a different shirt and shoes! What can I say, this sweater is comfy! Plus I was sleeping over my aunt's house and didn't want to bring two full outfits.

(and no, my hair is not greasy, it's just wet from showering. I never blow-dry my hair so occasionally I have to take my pictures with wet hair)

Top: Altuzarra for Target, Sweater: J.Crew (Roundabout Resale), Jeans: Michael Kors (Marshalls), Boots: Eighteen68 'Megan' (Gilt),  Sunglasses c/o Glasses Shop

I had a busy weekend so I didn't have as much time to take outfit photos as usual, so I thought it would be a good day to share some extras from outfit pictures with Lydia since I haven't in a while.  Enjoy!

As I posted yesterday, I attended an Endless Jewelry event hosted by Simply Majestic at Mystic Aquarium last week.  Endless Jewelry was started by Jesper Nielsen, one of the co-founders of Pandora, in 2013 and expanded the company to the US this year. Endless Jewelry is a similar concept to Pandora. You can buy a leather band (which has a magnetic closure) in a variety of colors and then add as many charms as you desire. Charms come in gold, silver and rose gold and some contain precious stones. Of the new line, Jesper says:
“I wanted to create something special, something that brings the classic collectible jewelry up to date,” says Neilsen. “I wanted to make a statement and let everybody else take part, or make their own. For me it’s not just a product—this is what we are. This is Endless. It’s going to be the next super brand, and we’re already on our way.”
The aquarium was such a fun setting for the event and Endless Jewelry really ran with it by using shells, starfish and other items you find in the ocean on their displays.  Part of the proceeds from the evening went to help support Mystic Aquarium and their mission.  I was particularly taken with the owl charm, grey pearl dream charm, penguin charm, and the purple band (obviously.)

Lydia and I had time to spare before the event started, so we drove the couple minutes down to Mystic Seaport for photos. It was perfect timing, everything had closed so there was no one there! A couple people walked by, but for the most part we were undisturbed, which was perfect because I always hate when people look at me...

And a couple party snaps:

Last week I was invited over to Mystic Aquarium for an Endless Jewelry event hosted by Simply Majestic. I asked Lydia to come along because I know she loves a good event and I hate going to things alone!  Since the event didn't start until 6, and we wanted to avoid the traffic, Mystic kindly offered us passes to visit the aquarium beforehand! I hadn't been in about 7 years and have been wanting to go back for quite some time. (check out Lydia's post too)

It was a beautiful day to watch the beluga whales and penguins outside. The whole place had been decorated for Halloween, which was a fun surprise! They even put pumpkins and skulls inside the fish tanks in the main gallery. There are so many interesting (and educational!) exhibits going on right now - check them all out! Unfortunately, we missed the Sea Lion show because we were too amused by one of their new exhibits - Jellies: The Ocean in Motion. I did a quick hyperlapse of some of the jellies floating around:
We also made sure to check out their latest 4D movie - SEA MONSTERS 4-D: A Prehistoric Adventure which follows the life of sea monster. Where does the 4D come in you may be thinking? Well, be prepared for water to shoot at you and even teeth to puncture your back while you're watching the fully immersive 3D movie.  It was really fun, although I wasn't in the best outfit to get wet.

Lydia and I didn't want to bring two outfits so we decided to do transitional looks.  I think hers was more successful since my dress is really dressy to begin with. But I think sporting flats and a leather jacket helped to dress it down a little bit more. Check back tomorrow for my event outfit and a recap of the evening.
