I'm a bit light on outfit posts thanks to the recent snowstorms so I thought I would re-share this recipe for Nigella Lawson's Chocohotopots that I first posted back in 2012. Chocohotopots have been one of my favorite desserts for as long as I can remember. It's simple, quick and the perfect portion. I've introduced it to quite a few friends over the years and I even brought my own ramekins when I visited a friend in DC so we could make them. As I'm sure you've seen on my Instagram, I make them quite often!

Ingredients

  • 1 stick unsalted butter (I'm lazy and use salted and it tastes just fine)
  • 4 ounces (1/2 cup) semisweet chocolate, with 60 percent cocoa solids
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup superfine sugar (again, I'm lazy so I use regular sugar)
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Special equipment: 4 (2/3 to 1-cup capacity) ramekins
Directions
  1. Place a baking sheet in the oven and preheat to 400 degrees F.
  2. Butter the ramekins (not from the full stick) or use non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Melt the dark chocolate and 1 stick butter together, then set aside to cool a little.
  4. Mix the eggs with the sugar and flour with a hand whisk and beat in the cooled butter/chocolate mixture.
  5. Divide the mixture between the 4 buttered ramekins.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes, by which time the tops will be cooked and cracked and the chocolate gooey underneath.
  7. Let cool and enjoy!!! :D

Some more looks at the finished product because who doesn't love a good Instagram?

Most people only think of Marshalls as a clothing store, but it is much more than that!  They carry a wide variety of home items as well. From pots and pans to plates and serving dishes, you can find all you need to create/present a delicious meal.  As part of my partnership with Marshalls I was sent a bunch of items and one of them was a container of Dulce de leche. I decided I would make some brownies and spread it over the top, then my cousin thought of the brilliant idea of adding some sea salt as well.

I headed to Marshalls with a mission: get everything I need to make and serve my brownies! I picked up 2 new baking dishes, some sea salt, and a nice cake plate/pedestal to display the delicious confections. They didn't have brownie mix at my particular Marshalls but I headed over to Home Goods (one of their partner stores) and they had a box so I snapped that up.  Then all that was left was to bake the brownies! Everything you see below is from Marshalls (except the brownie mix and blue plate which are from Home Goods.)

* Disclosure: I have received free products or value from Marshalls or The TJX Companies, Inc. in connection with my affiliation with Marshalls Project FAB.
Yesterday I found myself in need of a chocolately dessert, but I didn't want to run out to the grocery store. So...I broke out my go to recipe for Chocohotopots (by Nigella Lawson)! They are amazing, you will die. The recipe is really simple as well, you only need 5 ingredients (and 4 ramekins.)

Ingredients
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, with 60 percent cocoa solids
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup superfine sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Special equipment: 4 (2/3 to 1-cup capacity) ramekins
Directions
  1. Place a baking sheet in the oven and preheat to 400 degrees F.
  2. Butter the ramekins with some butter (not from the full stick).
  3. Melt the dark chocolate and 1 stick butter, then set aside to cool a little.
  7. Then let cool and enjoy!!! :D

Before I get to my post, I have some stuff on eBay, check it out!

Today I went to Kohl's with my mom since she had a 30% off coupon.  I only wanted to get some socks and tights.  I came out with 6 pairs of socks & a Simply Vera by Vera Wang top! (the tights were all icky)  I also bought 2 donuts ;) I should have owed my mom $24, but she bought that Max Studio dress from me that I was thinking of selling.  I'll probably spend more money tomorrow though, going to the mall with my best friend ;)

The Vera Wang top is nice, but the necklace attached to it makes it hang funny. It's detachable so I'm going to take it off, get a longer ribbon & turn it into a normal necklace. So now the shirt is a nice basic & then I can dress it up with the necklace.  Everything else I tried on was WAY too big, this was almost too big and it's an XS... o.O

I also just made some French Macarons from this recipe! This was my first try and my mom didn't think I would like them. But I was determined to make them because 1. they look cute and 2. its sugar, chocolate and almonds, what's not to like?  I just tried one and it was so tasty!! :) Here they are:
Lastly...the old woman that lives across the street from us had a tag sale so my mom and I headed over to say hi and chat. I ended up buying a shelf thing for $4!! Perfect to move some of my better Potter collectibles onto and make more room for the rest! :) (the left is the new one, the right is the new layout of the old one)

Today has been a lovely day spent away from my computer, I have been baking with my mom and reading Derek Blasberg's book, Classy!  It is such a GREAT book, funny, educational and just plain awesome! I suggest everyone read it! I'm almost halfway done and I just started reading it today.  Here are some pictures of what I baked with my mom for my brother's Confirmation party on Sunday.
