This is one of my more whimsical blazers yet it is still totally wearable because of the limited amount of colors. I feel like a bit of a fraud when I wear it because I don't read as much as I should. I've been doing a lot better this year and a half and have read a good amount. All of Game of Thrones, the Percy Jackson series, Me Before You (to prepare for Matt Lewis being in the film version), The Casual Vacancy and all of J.K. Rowling's Cormoran Strike books. Plus a few more fluffy reads (The Man Repeller and As You Wish) and rereading a few things. I'm currently reading The Heroes of Olympus, the second series in Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson world.

I was a little late to the game reading Rowling's 4 latest books even though I bought them all right when they were released. I had to buy them to support her but didn't think they would be my style. The Casual Vacancy DEFINITELY wasn't me, but I've really been enjoying her books under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.  I read the third novel in her Cormoran Strike series in 2 days when it came out at the end of October.  P.S. If you've read the books and like them, check out my friend's new podcast: The Strike Files.

I wanted to get at least one more wear out of this Summer dress before it goes away for months, so I decided to wear it as a shirt and inject Autumn in with some leather! You can also see another attempt at curling my hair without a curling wand. I put my hair into 4 little buns after my shower and slept in them overnight. They're okay, but not perfect yet!

Dress (as shirt): Splendid (Net-a-Porter Sale), Leather Skirt: Siena Style (Coco's $10 sale), Jacket: Elie Tahari x Design Nation (Kohl's), Boots: 3.1 Phillip Lim 'Peggy' (Barney's Warehouse)

I wore two outfits for my Christmas celebrations last week. I only took dedicated pictures of one because I forgot the second day! We just had so much going on - oopsie! But there are a couple pictures from the 25th that my Mom took during the day.

Back in October, Harpers Bazaar shared a bunch of 70s style icons and there was a photo of Farrah Fawcett (below) in wide-leg denim with an oversized blazer and color coordinated button down. Immediately I thought of this vintage blazer I got a couple years ago and had to recreate the look! I even left my shirt unbuttoned an extra button! It looks as though she had one more button un-done, but I'm not that brave.

P.S. Some sale updates:
SHOPBOP: Extra 20% off sale with code EXTRASALE
NET-A-PORTER: Now up to 70% off in sale!

Blazer: PBM Women's/vintage (Coco's $10 sale), Top c/o Oasis, Jeans: Free People (Marshalls), Boots: 3.1 Phillip Lim 'Peggy' (Barney's Warehouse), Necklace: BijouLimon (etsy)

The Inspiration:
Wolford gifted the tights featured in this post, but all opinions are my own.

It's that time of year again: tights season! These tights Wolford sent arrived just in time for the cold weather we experienced last weekend. I have a love/hate relationship with tights. I love how they make my legs look, but hate when they aren't "just right."

What I look for in a pair of tights: 1. Comfort; if they are too tight I get a stomach-ache, NOT fun. 2. Durability; rips and tears on their first wear is the worst. and 3. Opacity; I personally don't like a super sheer tight.

I received the Merino Tights and they're super soft. So far they pass the comfort and opacity tests! I can't vouch for their durability just yet, but so far so good! They have a reinforced toe, sole and heel so I have high hopes. I will definitely be wearing these a lot through the holiday season.

At $69 they are a bit of a splurge, BUT I have to say I can really see the upgrade in quality from my other tights.  I would definitely recommend Wolford if you're looking for a really high quality tight that's sure to last for years to come. They even have cashmere tights, yes, you read that right: CASHMERE. Pure luxury for your legs! They also carry bodysuits, dresses and so much more, be sure to check out their entire selection.

Also, if you own a pair of Wolford tights, be sure to enter their #UpdateYourLegs Facebook contest. And don't forget to keep up with them on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest!

Dress: DKNY (NET-A-PORTER sale), Boots: 3.1 Phillip Lim 'Peggy' (Barneys Warehouse Sale, extra 40% off right now), Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop), Tights c/o Wolford
I'm wearing a few new pieces in this outfit. The first is a purple leopard sweater I picked up at the Jersey Gardens outlet mall two weekends ago, for $19.50! Moving downward we get to this fun bracelet I got during New York Fashion Week which, up until now, I had been afraid to wear in fear of it getting caught on things. FYI: It didn't, but I had to make sure it didn't go into my ketchup pile at dinner.

Finally, we get to my feet and these amazing Phillip Lim boots I bought months ago during the Barney's Warehouse Memorial Day sale. The non-fur parts are a little plasticy looking but I think the calf hair makes up for it! They also make a plain leather version and metallic gold, but I think these are a mix of both - fun and practical.

Sweater: Banana Republic (outlet), Skirt: Sienna Style (thrifted), Boots: 3.1 Phillip Lim 'Peggy' (Barney's Warehouse Memorial Day Sale), Bracelet c/o Kendra Scott, Watch: Skagen (RueLaLa)

A quick pause from vacation outfits and photos for a French Wardrobe Challenge update!

I knocked out 2 of my five items this month during Net-a-Porter's End of Season Sale. I bought a Carven skirt I've had my eye on and the Ancient Greek Sandals that have been in my wishlist for months.  I can't wait to wear the skirt and have already worn the sandals a bunch of times. So far I'm really happy with each of my items, except the Alberto Makali set, guess that will teach me to not impulse buy.  Anyone want to buy them off me? ;)

I also bought a bunch of items for a collaboration I'm doing with ThredUp, but they haven't arrived yet so I'll update the post with a photo of those pieces when I get them.
