I wore this over the weekend to do some shopping with my sister and her boyfriend. We went to one of my favorite stores, Mother Earth Gallery. I have to limit how often I go there because I can never go in without buying a new crystal. This trip I bought some azurite. And ignore all the wrinkles, when I put this on in the morning it was fine, but sitting in a car will have some adverse effects on any fabric.

Tee: Madewell, Overalls: Calvin Klein (thrifted), Sandals: Ancient Greek Sandals 'Clio' (Nordstrom), Sunglasses: Chanel, Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Henry Dinky' (Gilt)

These overalls I thrifted last year are so cute, yet I rarely wear them. The reasons? 1. It's a bit short and 2. I can never decide what to wear under it. I think I've only shown the overalls on the blog once [and another on instagram], but I think I've worn them a few other times.  I love the color and the fabric is super soft, if only it were a couple inches longer it would possibly be a Summer staple!

I was also a little adventurous with my hair this particular day. I used to braid my hair a lot, but since getting it cut in December it has never really been long enough for a good braid. I was pleasantly surprised to see I could get a crown braid again! Yay!

Overalls: Calvin Klein (thrifted), Tee: Everlane, Sandals: Ancient Greek Sandals (Net-a-Porter), Bag: Wink and Winn (giveaway win), Necklace c/o by boe, Sunglasses: Ray-Ban "Emma" (Marshalls), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports & Mom's

It's getting chilly out there! I hope everyone had a lovely first week of Fall. I enjoyed being able to wear only a sweater with no coat, for now. We better enjoy this in between weather while we can.  This was an interesting week. On Wednesday I was stuck working at home because train service to Grand Central was suspended due to a power failure.  It couldn't have happened on a better day, though. It was my sister's birthday so I was able to have dinner with my family to celebrate. The day before that my twin cousins celebrated their 18th birthday, that makes me feel so old (I'm 7 years older than them!) And pretty soon I'll be a quarter of a century old...time flies. Lots of birthday talk today, ha ha.

Unfortunately trains are going to be crazy for up to three weeks because of the power outage.  So I won't be able to go into the office until it's fixed.  I did not go in yesterday but you'll notice there is an outfit there. That's because that is what I planned on wearing on Wednesday (I got dressed Wednesday, drove to the train station and drove home) and then was going to wear yesterday so I figured I'd leave it since I had the photo. ;)\

Even though my outfits may suggest otherwise this was another gloriously warm week, sadly my office is cold so I still need sweaters indoors. But don't worry, after work the sweaters came off and I was either in no sleeves or short sleeves, wahoo!! But next week when I'm in London it will probably be 10-15 degrees cooler, but I can handle it as long as it doesn't rain *knocks on wood*

This weekend is all about London preparations: packing, printing out documents, making lists of everything I'm packing and everywhere I want to go!  I have a feeling I am not going to want to come back, maybe I won't... Any fashion companies in London want to hire me? ;)

The first week of the new year is over, it wasn't too horrible. We had Monday off, which was good, I only left the house for about an hour and a half to get groceries and a Duchess hotdog (long dog with ketchup and bacon) for lunch, but I took a photo anyway. If you are ever on the East Coast and see a Duchess make sure to go there for a hot dog...they are DELICIOUS! The rest of the week was full of work and watching movies and Gilmore Girls.

I wore my other new sweaters this week (Monday and Tuesday), the second one is a tank top which is nice because it won't add extra bulk. I had been looking for a white (or any color) fisherman knit sweater and finally found it at TJ Maxx. Funnily enough, it was made in Ireland and came with a fun tag with information on each of the stitches.  And the weird thing is, I used to HATE turtlenecks (I feel like they're choking me) but I have been obsessed with them lately!!! Funny how things change as you get older, right?

This week was pretty good. I'm basically settled in my new place; my bedroom and closet are finished. We are just waiting for my friends uncle to bring some couches for the living room and then we're done (Except for internet/tv and a tv stand. Right now we're using my computer table)! I am staying home this weekend because of Hurricane Irene (my new place might get flooded because it is so close to the beach...OH NO!) so I won't be back at my place until Monday night...but the bright side is I have real internet all weekend! Unless the power goes out that is...its supposed to and it could be out for up to a week *dies* That would be BAD! But sorta good because then I might not have to go to work on Monday ;) (shame on me for saying that)

I took some photos of my room and closet that I'll prepare for posting soon, I'll do the rest of the house when it's all done! I think my closet may be my favorite room in the house, ha ha. Its so nice having so much space for my clothes! (Not shoes though, my shelves are almost full, I'll have to put any new shoes on the floor, ha ha)

[haha, went AE crazy today...]
Tonight I'm off to Jamaica, Vermont [meaning not the other Jamaica, haha] to go camping with my best friends Hayley and Jenna! I used to go there every year starting when I was 7, but then we stopped going when I was in my teens. Jenna and Hayley have never been camping before so it should be quite interesting. So yea, no posts this weekend but I'll be back on Monday! Hopefully I'll have some fun photos to share!

Also, my friend and I got the house!!! We just have to sign the lease and then we can move in!! I'll post some pictures after we do, but the house is going to be full of mismatched furniture because we're just bringing stuff from home...except for my closet room I hope, woohoo!

No Friday outfit but here's a close-up of my necklaces on Tuesday since my hair covered them in the full shot! :D
I was very good this month until the end...then I bought 3 things. *sigh* As many of you have probably seen from my post last week I got a Marc by Marc Jacobs Aiden bag in Bright Purple! It was a HUGE splurge at $300 but its worth it. I was sick of carrying around my dying Mulberry for Target bag that started falling apart after a month so I finally decided to spend the money on a quality purse that will last me a long time.

Even if I only use it for a year it still works for the cost per wear ratio, so I'm good with that. I am going to be using this purse every day for work so it is DEFINITELY going to get lots of use, so I would say it is definitely worth ponying up the extra cash.

I also had a mini shopping spree at Marshalls while on a short weekend vacation and spent $55 on some Michael Kors pants and a Calvin Klein sweater. But I was on vacation, so I'm forgiven, everyone is bad on vacation, ha ha.

Hopefully I behave myself better next month, but I doubt it...I always seem to find something. Though the last thing I bought before these three things was my Michael Kors watch on June 8th, so I went a month and a half without buying clothes. And I'm also moving out so I'll have to be good, hopefully knowing that most of my money needs to go for the house and furnishing it will help to curb my spending.
This week we had very sucky weather, it was hot and muggy/rainy and gross for half the week! But other than that it went pretty well. I worked, was home without my parents for the week (they stayed in Rhode Island) and saw Harry Potter for the 3rd time with my friend Hayley,  and it was dandy! I can't believe it is almost August...this summer/year is going by WAY too fast! This weekend I plan to do absolutely nothing but lay around in my pjs watching TV! Do you guys have any exciting weekend plans?

Thursday: Dress: Marc by Marc Jacobs (eBay) $27, Sweater: Kohl's gift, Wedges: Simply Vera Wang $20, Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs
I had a Friday outfit but when I woke up it was raining so I had to change my plans, so no photo for today. But I might post one of it next week if I feel like taking a picture later.

Oh, also, my friend Hayley and I went to look at a house on Wednesday because we both want to move out of our parents' houses. It is RIGHT by the beach and is sooo cute, but its a 30 minute drive to work instead of 10 minutes...UGH! We went to drive by another house that was only 10 minutes from work but it was in such a creepy location. So we just jumped on the house by the beach! We just need to do all the technical stuff, like credit checks and things! So wish us luck in getting the house! :D
