I did buy a couple dresses this month, but they aren't fashionable in the least, haha! I bought them to be easily packable in my Day Owl backpack/don't care if they get wrinkly for my trip to Florida this week. They'll be comfy in the heat, have pockets and I'll fit right in at the specific location we're going, ha ha. I had a leftover gift card from Christmas that covered one of the dresses so it was $26 for both. Almost bought a pair of jean shorts like I've been saying I'll do for months, but the wash was slightly off.

This is what I wore for the 4th of July. Christian and I had a pretty laid-back day. We started with a trip to the local farmers market, a walk in the park and then headed to my parents for lunch - steak fajitas. We hung out in their AC for a while and then headed back home where I proceeded to sit out the couch and watch the TNT Star Wars marathon the rest of the day.

I always feel like I'm stepping back in time when I wear these 70s flared Free People jeans.  They add such an element of fun to any look. I had wanted to wear this tank top and didn't feel like wearing it with shorts or regular jeans so - flares to the rescue!

Last week I was in Nashville for my friend's Game of Thrones convention. I had a pretty easy job (since I had done my real work - coding the website - before the convention.) I just helped carry around camera equipment and watched the film crew work.  I slacked a bit and only took 3 sets of outfit photos. Here's the first.

The convention was held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center and boy is it BIG!  I definitely got lost a few times on my first day.

No trip to Florida is complete without a visit to Disney! I didn't really take any outfit photos while we were there, was having too much fun! So here this post is mostly a photo diary of the day. We were lucky enough to get into the Beauty and the Beast restaurant (Be Our Guest) without reservations and managed to go on all the main rides. Was definitely a long day, but well worth it! Disney was all decked out for Fall/Halloween which I had never seen before, always something new to explore!

We had quite the heatwave last week, complete with nasty humidity! What's a girl to do when it's so hot you don't want to step outside? Put on a super soft top and even softer shorts. These Rag & Bone shorts I got at Marshalls are so comfortable it's like wearing pajamas. They're a little big so I always need a belt, but that doesn't stop me from wearing them!

This is what I wore on Sunday for our family's Labor Day get together. The sweater didn't stay on long but I thought it made the outfit a bit more interesting. One of my uncle's said I looked like the 70s because of my jeans and shoes - which is what I was going for. Unfortunately when I took off the shoes the top part RIPPED from the soles. Just ripped clean off...how does that happen?! See the photo I posted on Instagram here.

Here's my first outfit from Rhode Island which is, most likely, my last vacation of the Summer. On Saturday we headed to Scarborough Beach, one of my favorite places! We used to come stay at the same house every Summer when I was younger, but since I graduated college it's been sporadic.   Since I've been going on so many trips this year I made this a working vacation. I would go to the beach in the morning and work in the afternoons! We're headed home tomorrow (and I'm writing this post Sunday night) but let's just assume we had a great time! Not sure how many sets of outfit pictures I'll have from the trip, but you can look forward to at least a few more.

I've been growing bored with my clothing choices these days. To remedy that I decided to experiment with wearing a blazer and shorts together.  Not sure if it totally works, but I liked the change.  I also realized, while my dad was taking these photos, that if I took off my blazer and swapped my sandals for white Keds I would look like Baby in Dirty Dancing! Ha ha.

Tomorrow morning I'm headed to Florida for a week of frolicking with friends. Normally when I'm on vacation I like to schedule posts in advance, but since I've been so unhappy with my clothing choices lately I decided to just take a break for the week. I shall return next Tuesday!

We finally experienced some Spring weather last week so I was able to wear this super light silk top without freezing. I also paired it with my new suede pants! I was worried I wouldn't be able to wear them for Spring but then I realized they would pair well with a flowy top to tone down the darkness!
