Another day, another comfy oversized sweater. I wish I had counted every time I wore this sweater because I'm pretty sure its one of the most worn items in my closet. When I first bought it I wore it at least once a week and every time I went on a plane it was my outerwear of choice because I could wear it like a blanket.  The past couple years I haven't worn it as much, because I've been trying to wear less-worn pieces in my closet, but it's still way up there in wears.

Cardigan: DKNY Oversized striped knitted cardigan (Net-a-Porter Sale), Sweater: Everlane The Fall Seed Stitch Raglan, Jeans: rag & bone (Shopbop), Boots: Audrey Brooke 'Mirie' (DSW), Sunglasses: Chanel, Bag: Dark Purple Chloé Faye (eBay), Necklace: Marrin Costello, Hat: Kensington Palace gift shop

This is my 7th Christmas season with this sweater and my love for it has not lessened one bit. I still wear it multiple times through the holiday season (and after too) and don't see myself stopping any time soon.

I originally posted it as a "Dream" outfit in 2011 and bought it in The Outnet's clearance sale in 2013 for $229 (regular $1075, yowza!) Even if I only wore it twice a year, that still brings the cost per wear down to about $16, pretty good! But I'm sure I've worn it more than 14 times over these past 7 years.

It's hard to style in different ways so I don't post it on the blog too often, but for this look I wore it with some studded leggings and over the knee boots. Hidden under my boots are some red and green striped socks that have kitties with Christmas lights on them. The perfect cozy weekend look even if it was a blustery day.

Polar Bear Sweater: Stella McCartney 'Polar bear intarsia wool and alpaca-blend sweater' (The Outnet), Leggings: Rock & Republic Star Wars Studded Leggings c/o Kohl's, Boots: Audrey Brooke 'Mirie' (DSW)

Sometimes I like to pick a color and come up with a monochromatic outfit. It's easy to do when you keep buying all the same colors, ha ha. I always love a good cashmere sweater and this one from alice + olivia is so fun, I love the elbow patches.

Sweater: Alice + Olivia cashmere sweater with elbow patches (shop more Alice & Olivia sweaters), Pants: abercrombie + fitch corduroy pants, Mules: Franco Sarto 'Dolly' (shop more mules), Bag: Tommy Hilfiger bucket bag (shop more bucket bags), Sunglasses: Gucci

This light teal cashmere sweater is one of my favorites for cooler temperatures.  The color matches pretty much everything in my closet so it's easy to layer with blazers or larger cardigans. I decided to wear it with a statement jean for this weekend outing and finished off the look with my new flats! Normally I have a hard time being comfortable in flats because my heels get blisters, but thanks to the slingback my heels have plenty of room to move around and won't rub up on the back of the shoe.

Cashmere Sweater: Ellen Tracy, Jeans: Free People 'Jax', Flats: Restricted 'Memo' (DSW), Labradorite Necklace: Indulgems (Gilt), Sunglasses: Gucci aviators in tortoise, Bag: Dark Purple Chloé Faye (eBay)

UPDATE: I should never pre-write these a week before the month is over. I made a couple purchases in last few days. One hasn't arrived yet so I'll include it next month.

I made a DSW purchase with a bunch of store credits and coupons. I bought a pair of purple suede Sam Edelman sandals which will hopefully replace my current pair that is slowly disintegrating (they're SUPER old.) Sadly they don't make the exact same style anymore but this one is similar.  I also bough a cute pair of black flats to take advantage of a 25% off 2 pairs deal and wound up essentially getting those free after my $10 and 2 $5 credits. My purchase also got me a free backpack so I think I did pretty well.

UPDATE 2: I decided to add this to October since it arrived on November 1st! As I was preparing a blog post for a wedding look I wore, I came across a dress I've been wanting since 2012 (the blog proof) for $32 on eBay. I followed it and the next day the seller sent an offer of $25 for it, so I HAD to get it after texting a couple friends for the nudge I needed - aka confirmation that it was a good purchase. I can't remember the retail price from 2012 but I would say it was at least $500.  Unfortunately I found out that Edun went out of business last year, which is such a shame because it was a sustainable brand and promoted artists in Africa. Now I'll cherish my 3 pieces more (and maybe buy some more secondhand if I see anything good)

Original Copy:

I made it through October without shopping! It helps that I had 3 super busy weekends at the beginning of the month so I couldn't really shop in store. I also had less extra money this month thanks to taking half of September off for my honeymoon. (the perils of freelancing and not having paid vacation!) I've been pretty good at resisting online shopping too. I just fill up carts and then abandon them to get the shopping bug out. Anyone else do that or is it just me?

I'm hoping to keep this up through the end of the year, but we'll see if any of the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales get me! Or Net-a-Porter's Winter sale...always dangerous when that pops up! I will have some Shopbop money coming in soon thanks to my temporary partnership with them but am not sure if I'll wait until the few months is over to buy something big, or just a few things here and there.

Designer collaborations are all the rage these days, everyone from H&M to Kohl's do collections with famous designers. We can thank Target for making it popular, they started the trend 20 years ago. I believe I used to have a pair of sandals from a collection they did with Isaac Mizrahi but they are long since destroyed from wear.

Last month Target announced they would be re-releasing some of their most popular brand collaboration pieces to celebrate 20 years of designer partnerships! I have bought quite a few pieces from the collections over the years and some remain favorites to this day! One of my absolute favorites is my floral Jason Wu dress that has been on the blog countless times. I also love my 3.1 Phillip Lim sweater and sweatshirt - they are re-releasing both of those! You can preview everything that will be available here and shop tomorrow!

Unfortunately since the collection is being released tomorrow, I will be flying to and enjoying my first night in Rome. Such a shame! But I guess it's stopping me from shopping! Speaking of - this will be my last post until October since I didn't want to have blog posts go up while I'm away. Follow me on Instagram to keep up with our travels through Italy and Greece and when we get back I'll share outfits and travel guides! YAY!

Top: Thakoon for Design Nation (Kohl's), Jean Shorts: Madewell Boyshort in Frances, Slip-On Sneakers: BCBGeneration 'Yerra' Slip-on Sneaker (DSW), Bag c/o Orox Leather

On super hot Summer days all I want to wear is a loose dress and sandals. This Splendid zebra print dress is always a good choice.  Unfortunately we still have 2 more outfits (including this one) where my camera was acting up. Hopefully we fixed it so no more issues when my Dad takes photos, ha ha.

Dress: Splendid Zebra Print Dress (NETAPORTER, also here), Beaded Sandals: Seychelles (DSW), Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Perfect Purse ostrich-effect PVC' (Net-a-Porter), Sunglasses: Chanel
