One of my cousins got married last Friday so the whole family headed up to the beautiful location to celebrate! She is the second of my cousins to get married and her brother is getting married in October. The family is on a roll! Ha ha.  The wedding was a lot of fun and I even danced...I NEVER dance. Although half the time I was just standing on the dance floor like a weirdo. I can only dance when no one is watching me.

This is the debut of the Tracy Reese dress I bought at Roundabout last year and have been dying to wear! I also wore my new  amethyst necklace from Bubu Ruby on etsy. The seller, Jen, is great! She was super helpful when I wanted a specific stone to go with one of the necklaces I bought.  Jen also asked me to let you guys know about one of the pieces she is selling this month. It's the Tiny Turquoise Necklace ($24) and $3 from each sale will be donated to the MAKE A WISH foundation in the US and Canada. So check out the necklace, and all her other gorgeous jewelry!

Here is the last of my fashion week recaps. It's a long one but I figured you would much rather one large one than a couple more posts, right?

For the past few weeks I've been using a new-to-me site, Groopdealz, which is a sample-sale type website for local artists and etsy shops. The shop offers a deal on an item with a 30-90% savings. Each Monday GroopDealz adds a total of 20 of these deals and they will run for 24 hours. Once the 24 hours are up that deal will be gone. Each day new items are added. The site is a great way to shop and save when it comes to women's fashion apparel, women’s accessories, home goods and kids items. It’s always fun to see what the site has on any day.

I picked up this great skirt for $16.99 (regular $39.99) and the necklace for $9 (regular $18.99), steals in my opinion!  There are so many great options each day. I also love all their home pieces and the just for fun section.

Also, to sweeten the deal, Groopdealz is providing a $50 gift certificate for J.Crew to one of my readers who signs up for their newsletter to see all the new deals! There are two mandatory entries and the rest are bonus. The giveaway is open to the US and Canada.

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you guys have fun plans. I do have a date, but not that kind. I'm going to see Alton Brown Live with one of my friends, yay! It was a last minute decision because her other friend cancelled on her, but hey, works out for me. We're doing a private meet & greet before hand which should be fun.  Good Eats is one of my favorite cooking shows so I'm pretty excited!

I'm starting my new schedule at work, where I go in Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and work from home Wednesday and Friday. Woo, one extra day at home!  But this week we had the snowstorm so things were a little wacky, the same will be true of next week because we get Monday off.

Monday: Sweater: Anthropologie (on sale!), Jeans: rag & bone (Shopbop), Heels: Lanvin (Roundabout Resale), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's

Tuesday: Tee: Everlane, Sweater: rag & bone NM x Target (boys), Skirt: 3.1 Phillip Lim (Net-a-Porter sale), Heels: Dolce & Gabanna (Uptown Consignments),  Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's
Online jewelry store Emitations recently sent me this gorgeous byzantine style statement necklace and earring set. I've been on the hunt for a neutral colored statement necklace for a while so it was a perfect piece for me.  Their mission is to provide the best online luxurious shopping experience for everyday women on a budget.  I definitely think they live up to that statement, the store carries a myriad of pieces to suit any style, and all at great prices.  I also loved their selection of stackable rings, especially the Elle collection.  What pieces do you fancy?

Necklace c/o Emitations, Top: French Connection c/o Marshalls, Skirt: 3.1 Phillip Lim (Net-a-Porter sale), Heels: Dolce & Gabanna (Uptown Consignments), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports & Mom's

And a couple shots of Lydia and I because we met up on Monday to take these photos.

* Disclosure: I recieved the jewelry as compensation for this post, but all opinions are my own.
Ahh Friday, my second favorite day of the week. Saturday is obviously my favorite because you don't have to worry about anything: no work the next day, you can do anything you want during the day and stay up late. Sunday is okay, but like Meg Ryan says in Kate & Leopold, it gets spoiled because you know you have to go to work Monday.  I've got quite a large amount planned for this long weekend. Probably starting with a trip to Marhsalls on Saturday, then going to a fun gemstone place with my sister, and on Sunday getting my nails done with my best friends and we will probably go out to eat and see Frozen after.

Right when I get back into the groove of going back to the office 4 days a week I have a crazy week ahead of me. Next Monday the office is closed, I'm going in on Tuesday, then Wednesday I'm working at home and then I'm off Thursday - Monday for my trip to Florida. I'm headed to the Harry Potter Celebration weekend they're having at Universal. My sister and I planned to go months ago and bought our tickets and then earlier this week Universal emailed me asking if I would like to cover the event for my site, magical-menagerie.com, score!

Monday: Tee: Gap (from Lydia), Skirt: siena style (Coco's $10 sale), Boots: Eighteen68 'Megan' (Gilt), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's

Tuesday: Dress: Jason Wu for Target, Sweater: Phillip Lim for Target, Heels: Jessica Simpson (from Lydia), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's

Wednesday: Sweater: Everlane, Pants: Balenciaga (Roundabout Resale), Heels: Dolce & Gabanna (Uptown Consignment), Necklace: Geoclassics, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's

Thursday: Blazer: The Extreme Collection (thrifted), Dress: Lauren by Ralph Lauren (Lord & Taylor), Booties: No.704b. (DSW), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's
Happy Friday before Christmas! We're in the home stretch now! I have quite a busy weekend planned. Tonight starts our official movie watching as a family. We have a schedule for the last few days, but the weeks leading up we watch whatever movies we feel like.  Tonight is It's a Wonderful Life. Then tomorrow I'm headed to my Aunt's and Sunday I'm going to see The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. I was supposed to go last Saturday but the snow ruined it.  Sunday night we're watching Holiday Inn & White Christmas, two of my favorites. But, my absolute favorite (the whole family's actually) is saved for the 23rd: Scrooge with Albert Finney. It's a musical - if you haven't seen it... DO IT! I have to work on Monday, but hopefully it won't be too crazy. Then I'm off Tuesday and Wednesday and it's back to work on Thursday. BUT we get to work from home until January 2nd when we're due back a the office!

You'll notice a big change in my photos this week. I got a hair makeover for one of the websites at work (I'll post the link when the feature is live). I was hoping for an Emma Stone look (like this) but it turned out a little shorter than I was expecting so it's taking a little time to adjust. I'm not fond of short hair on myself but it does look cute when it's curled. The problem is - I don't know how to do it myself! I didn't wash my hair for as long as I could so the original curls would last.  Guess I have a mission over the next few weeks - find an affordable and easy to use curling iron, and learn how to use it. A co-worker told me to get the Beachwaver, and others recommend a curling wand. But those are all a bit expensive so I might end at Target or I'll see if I can get lucky and find something for a great price at Marshalls.
Monday: Blazer: Etro (Roundabout Resale), Tee: Everlane, Jeans:  Free People, Boots: Eighteen68 'Megan' (Gilt),  Necklace c/o Anjolee, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's

Tuesday: Sweater: Madewell (Shopbop), Jeans: Genetic Denim c/o Piperlime, Boots: Grandma's, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Necklace: Francesca's, Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's

Wednesday: Sweater: French Connection (Marshalls), Jeans: Jolt (Marshalls), Flats c/o Joie, Necklace c/o O Necklace, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's

Thursday: Sweater: Stella McCartney (The Outnet), Leggings: H&M, Socks: Marshalls, Boots: Eighteen68 'Megan' (Gilt),  Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's

Also, I've been trying out a new fragrance this week thanks to my position as a Harper's Bazaar Style Ambassador!  It's called The One by Dolce & Gabanna and it is available at ShopBazaar.com! It is a Limited Edition fragrance for women in a polished gold bottle with notes of mandarin, lychee, peach, a base of lily, and finished with a touch of warm. It definitely has potential to become one of my signature scents!

* Disclosure: I have received free products from Harper's Bazaar in connection with my affiliation with Harper's Bazaar Style Ambassadors.
Happy Friday! We're less than 2 weeks until Christmas - YAY! I've got quite a lot of plans this weekend. Tomorrow I'm going to see The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug with my best friend and then our other best friend is meeting us for lunch. She doesn't like Lord of the Rings...for shame!  Then Saturday night my family from Ohio is arriving for a few days, so the rest of the weekend will be spent with them!

Apparently I went Chanel crazy on Wednesday, ha ha. I have always wanted to wear the skirt and blazer together and I wanted to wear comfortable flats - so I chose my new Chanel flats.  Funny how I bought them all over the past year at Roundabout Resale for far less than retail and they all go perfectly together! The reason I wanted to wear comfortable shoes was because I was going to an event at the Coach flagship store on 5th avenue for #ChatWithCoach with Karlie Kloss and Eva Chen (Lucky Magazine editor). It was so much fun, I'll be posting about it next week!

Monday: Sweater: DKNY Cozy (Marshalls), Tee: Cullen (Rue La La), Jeans: Free People, Heels: Dolce & Gabanna (Uptown Consignments),  Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's
Tuesday: Sweatshirt: Phillip Lim for Target, Jeans: rag & bone (Shopbop), Boots: Grandma's Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's

Wednesday: Blazer: Chanel (Roundabout Resale), Tee: Everlane, Skirt: Chanel (Roundabout Resale), Flats: Chanel (Roundabout Resale), Necklace: Geoclassics, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's
Thursday: Men's Sweater: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Marshalls), Skirt: T by Alexander Wang (Net-a-Porter), Booties: Alexander Wang (The Outnet), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's

3. Do you switch up your makeup routine for the season? Not really.
4. Favorite Thanksgiving food? Turkey (of course) and my mom's Rice & Beans (a Jamaican thing)
5. Hats or scarves? Scarves, I don't look very good in hats.
6. Most worn sweater? I'm not sure, I wear them all quite a lot.

12. Best fragrance for fall? I don't really wear much perfume, but when I do wear it, it's Marc Jacobs Dot
13. Favorite Fall TV Show? New show? Reign on the CW, I'm in love with it! [side note: the guy who places Francis had a teeny role in Harry Potter, he played young Dumbledore. Sadly most of his stuff was cut but he is in a photo]
This weekend I braved the cold/high winds to take some more shots of my favorite outfit from last week.  As I said on Friday,  I got these amazing Balenciaga pants for $30 at my favorite consignment store, Roundabout Resale.  They are pretty wild but I couldn't resist their velvety goodness.  Maybe one day I'll be a bit more adventurous with the styling, but for a while I'll probably stick to blacks.  What would you pair it with?

Less than a week until Thanksgiving! But there are 2 other things to be excited about for next week. Number 1 - a short work week! YAY! Number 2, my favorite, getting our Christmas Tree on Friday!  But let's not get ahead of ourselves.  First: the weekend! This weekend I'll be having date night with Christine and Lydia thanks to Marshalls Project Fab! Then Sunday I will relax and hang out with the family at Grandma's.

This week I FINALLY got to debut my crazy velvet Balenciaga pants I got for $30 (I know!) at Roundabout Resale in Westport.  I always find the best pieces there.  Case in point: my Lanvin heels from Thursday. Always get so many compliments on them and I paid a measly $80. Okay...that is technically a lot, but not compared to the $900 price tag. My outfits this week are also full of Marshalls and TJ Maxx finds.  As you can see I never pay full price for fabulous!

Monday: Dress: London Times (from Lydia), Sweater: Forever 21, Boots: Eighteen68 'Megan' (Gilt),  Belt: Kenneth Cole Reaction (Marshalls), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage & Mom's

Tuesday: Sweater: Burberry Brit (Net-a-Porter sale), Tee: Cullen (Rue La La), Pants: Balenciaga (Roundabout Resale) Heels: Dolce & Gabanna (Uptown Consignment), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage & Mom's

Wednesday: Dress: McQ by Alexander McQueen, Sweater: Tahari (TJ Maxx), Booties: Alexander Wang (The Outnet), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage & Mom's

Thursday: Top: Equipment (Sample Sale), Vest: French Connection (Marshalls), Jeans:  Free People, Heels: Lanvin (Roundabout Resale), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage & Mom's
Ask and you shall receive! Lauren commented on my last This Week in Fashion post saying that one of my outfits deserved a full outfit post. I agreed and happily obliged!

I always feel so good when I wear this blazer. I hunted on eBay for months to find it in 2005 after Emma Watson wore it. I finally found it that Christmas and then last year I had to find another one because I grew out of the original. I still have the first one for sentimental reasons (it was my first designer buy) and because I can wear it as a 3/4 sleeve. I'm liking this monochromatic look. It makes me want to buy more black pieces so I can do it more often. Or perhaps I should just get a lot more purple and maroon clothes to do that.
