Two days until Halloween! I've been slacking in the Halloween movie watching department this year. I've only watched my favorites once or twice, usually I watch them way more than that because I am insane and have no life.  I'll make up for it on Saturday with a nice long marathon since I won't be going out for Halloween.   Last weekend I went to the pumpkin patch with my siblings like we used to do every year. The past couple years it has just been my sister, her boyfriend and I going but this year one of my brothers joined in! (The other is away at school otherwise he would have come)

Sweater: target, Cardigan: Ralph Lauren Denim c/o Marshalls, Jeans: Michael Kors (Marshalls), Boots: Eighteen 68 'Megan' (Gilt)

And now some photos from the pumpkin patch! Jones Family Farms for those of you in Connecticut. I think we all did an amazing job with our pumpkins! I found one that had green leopard-like spots covering half of it so I decided to do a cat pumpkin. My sister, who is far more artistic than me, drew the face for me and I slaved away carving it out, ha ha.

I've been trying to wear my scarves more often lately. I only have a couple and they are both printed so it's hard to wear them all the time. When I used to commute to NYC every day they got PLENTY of use, but now that I don't have to walk 30 minutes in the cold they aren't as necessary.   On this particular day I wore the scarf instead of a full on coat, because I just had to go from the car to my parents house. (I did put a coat in the car in case I got stranded somewhere)

I've tried a few long sleeve sweater dresses in the past, but most have been too chunky, shapeless and added bulk to me. Then I encountered this gorgeous sixties style swing dress at Roundabout for 75% off their price (which is already a consignment store price.) I saw the burgundy fabric peeking out of the rack on my second go around through the store. As most of you know burgundy (and purple) is one of my favorite colors to wear. It was also brand new with tags, how does it get any better than that?

It is from a diffusion line for Balenciaga, Balenciaga.Knits. According to the tag, Balenciaga selected several emblematic designs from Nicolas Ghesquiere's collections. Their development is focused on researching materials and new cuts.

I wore it on a slightly warmer day, which felt like a heatwave even though it was still in the upper 30s (°F.) It is made of wool so there is a teeeeeny bit of an itch to it, but after wearing it a few more times I'm sure it will soften up.

Dress: Balenciaga Knits (Roundabout Resale), Necklace: Geoclassics, Boots: Eighteen 68 'Megan' (Gilt),

As many of my regular readers will know, I am very into muted colors, nothing too bright. I have two "neon" sweaters in my closet; this one and a green v-neck. Sometimes I just want to blind people with color! On this day I decided to tone it down a bit by pairing it with a grey vest.

Sweater: Madewell (Shopbop), Faux Fur Vest: Ella Moss (Marshalls), Jeans: Free People, Boots:  Eighteen 68 'Megan' (Gilt), Clutch c/o Soul Foundation 'Mulungi Collection', Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Henry Dinky' (Gilt)

It's the eve of Christmas Eve! YAYY!! This is basically the day before Christmas for my family because we start our Celebrations on Christmas Eve with my Dad's side of the family coming over to our house.  Today is a pretty awesome day though, we watch my favorite Christmas movie: SCROOGE. It is a musical version of A Christmas Carol starring Albert Finney and it is amazing! Plus, it has Alec Guinness (aka Obi Wan) in it too.

I love this Stella McCartney sweater so much, since it's a holiday sweater it will pretty much never go out of style (for me, at least). It was featured on the blog two years ago as a Dream Outfit for Christmas Tree hunting, but then I got it on sale at The Outnet at wore it the following year when we got our Christmas Tree.

Polar Bear Sweater: Stella McCartney (The Outnet), Boots: Eighteen68 'Megan' (Gilt), Tights c/o Hanes, Sunglasses c/o GlassesShop, Watch c/o Movado, Bracelets: c/o Gorjana, c/o Fibi & Clo and gift my brother's girlfriend got for me in India

Here's an outfit from the weekend before Thanksgiving. I wore this outfit on Friday and Saturday, just with a different shirt and shoes! What can I say, this sweater is comfy! Plus I was sleeping over my aunt's house and didn't want to bring two full outfits.

(and no, my hair is not greasy, it's just wet from showering. I never blow-dry my hair so occasionally I have to take my pictures with wet hair)

Top: Altuzarra for Target, Sweater: J.Crew (Roundabout Resale), Jeans: Michael Kors (Marshalls), Boots: Eighteen68 'Megan' (Gilt),  Sunglasses c/o Glasses Shop

This sweater is one of my favorites. Being cashmere, it's super soft and then there's the added bonus of the really cool emerald snakeskin print! Even though the color and print are bold, this is such a great basic piece and one that I wear a LOT during the colder months.  I topped this outfit with my super cozy faux fur vest, I wore it to a family brunch and everyone was making fun of me saying I looked like a dog. But that could also have something to do with how I was crouched on the ground next to my own dog.

Vest: French Connection (Marshalls), Cashmere Sweater: T Babaton c/o Aritzia, Jeans: Mother c/o Marshalls, Boots: Eighteen68 'Megan' (Gilt),

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year (along with the period between Thanksgiving and Christmas,) so it should come as no surprise to you that one of my favorite traditions is going to the pumpkin patch! My family has been going to the same one since I was a youngin', Jones Family Farms (it is also where we get our Christmas Tree every year.) This year I just went with my sister and her boyfriend, but there's plenty of time to go again, so maybe the whole family will go one weekend.

It was super chilly and windy when we went, but was still a lot of fun! We went early in the morning to avoid the crowds but by the time we left the place was PACKED. It is insanity! I went a little light this year and just bought 2 small gourds and a bundle of Indian corn, only $6 for all of it. I'm sharing my outfit today and will share some general snaps tomorrow!

[Yes, the title is a reference to Winnie the Pooh]
