Saturday was my cousin Jill's wedding and it was so fun! The ceremony was beautiful and then we danced the night away at the reception.  Except for me...I don't dance, but I can do the Twist. I did dance to Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls but most of the other songs were new, which if you know me, you know I hate new stuff.  It was so great seeing my cousins in Ohio, we don't get to see them that often, I just wish we had more time...

I'm not going to post pictures of other people, to respect their privacy, so here are some photos of me! And, if you could spare a few minutes, please "heart" my video for a contest!

It was so hot that we stood over vents to keep cool (me & my cousin)

As you read this I am in the car on the way to Ohio (for 10+ hours....oy) to attend my cousin's wedding tomorrow afternoon!! She is the first in our family to get married and I'm so happy for her!  Ever since they let us know it would be a summer wedding I was trying to decide what to wear, as all girls do. This is my first wedding as an adult (the last wedding I attended to was my Aunt's when I was 7).  It's so hard to decide what to wear to a wedding, you don't want to be over or under-dressed, so the time of year and location is a big factor.

Originally I was going to wear the Oasis dress I wore to High Tea in London last summer, then it changed to the Edun dress I wore at the opening of the Harry Potter Studio Tour in March. But then the net-a-porter sale came and I FINALLY had the perfect dress, by Burberry London! I decided to dress it down a bit with espadrilles because it is a daytime wedding, I also decided on the wedges so my feet don't die...

Here is what I will be wearing, you'll get to see the full outfit when I return next week (and maybe some candid shots if I can grab them from my uncle's camera before we leave)!  What do you think? Did I do a good job deciding what to wear? And don't tell me no because I've changed my mind far too many times!

Last night I drove to my Aunt's house to start my week long vacation! We left for Wilmington, North Carolina late last night (and are probably still driving right now) to see our cousins who moved there last summer. Then Saturday we are heading to Myrtle Beach to meet up with the rest of my family!  We will be spending the week in a timeshare right on the beach!  I love spending time with my extended family, we always have so much fun! It's going to be my family (minus one brother) and my dad's brothers and sister and their families. There will be 16 people at most when we're all together (not everyone will be together the whole time.)  Should be a jolly good time!

Keep an eye on my instagram (Closet_Fashion) and Twitter (Closet_Fashion) for up to the minute updates.

But don't worry I've scheduled some summer vacation and beach related posts for you guys to enjoy while I'm gone and I'll probably check up on blogs at night before bed!  See you on the flip side (hopefully with outfit photos if I can coerce my family into taking some!)

In other news, I made a new purchase with my net-a-porter credit (from when I returned the Valentino heels) on Tuesday! I still have a bit of credit left over too, gotta love that.  It came yesterday before I left and it all fit so I don't have to return again (I had to return this order because of sizing...sad)

The sale ends on Sunday so make sure to check out the final reductions!

As you can see I pulled the trigger on the T by Alexander Wang ruched skirt. It has been on my wishlist for a long time and after I tried one on last weekend I was even more in love. It will go great with the jacket too, WAHOOO!!
You guys have probably noticed by now that I don't really wear a lot of jewelry. When I first started the blog I never wore it but now I at least wear my watch, 2 rings and 31 Bits bracelets. What you don't know is that I have amassed a nice collection of old jewelry over the years. I know you all probably have 10 times the amount of jewelry I have but I never wear it so it doesn't really matter, ha ha. I am going to try to start wearing it more often, but we'll see how that goes.

Warning: There is a lot of text in this post because I wanted to explain the pieces...
So today I decided to show you some of the pieces I've been handed down from various family members (mostly my mom and Grandmothers).  But first is a jewelry box my Grandfather made me (he made one for all the girls).
These next two aren't exactly jewelry, but they are still heirlooms and pretty.  The first is a watch/pendant/thing that was my Grandmother's (my Dad's mom) and the second is her perfume.  I got both of these when she passed away over 10 years ago.  My mom, aunts, sister and I went though her jewelry and each got to pick out items we liked. I chose the watch because it was cool, and her perfume so I could always smell it when I missed her.
Next up are some rings! I bought the one with the opal and green stone in Rhode Island when I was a little.  It was from this awesome store in Newport, Geoclassics, where everything was made from natural stones. We had gone there the previous year and I only had enough money to buy a stone egg (for $7,) so the next year I saved up and spent a whopping $35 on the ring. The other three are my Mother's, two of which I wear every day.
Now earrings!  Almost all of these were from my late Grandmother.  The diamond/CZ crosses are from one of my Aunt's, and the hearts with CZ are another gift.  Then the plain diamonds at the bottom are what I wear every day, I rarely take them out.  They were a gift from my Grandmother (my Mom's mom, who is still alive.) She bought them for me when I was a senior in high school because I was "retiring" from gymnastics.  She got them for me as a reward for my dedication, I was a gymnast for 13 years and was only stopping because the college I was going to didn't have a team.

These last two were bought when I was younger on various vacations. I believe I bought the necklace in Rhode Island and it is made out of tons of purple shells (my favorite color!) It fits more like a choker now so I don't wear it as much. And I know you all recognize the other item...a mood ring!!! Who didn't have one of these when they were a pre-teen?
Last week I mentioned I would be doing some gift guides and Lydia requested gifts for the fussy father, aka one who "doesn't want anything and doesn't like sports." You guys love to hit me with the hard ones, don't you.  This is pretty much like my Dad though, he doesn't really need or want anything (he does like sports, but not in a collectible way.)  I say go with something corny that is unique to your father, a good book or movie, maybe something for the car, etc.  You could always fall back on the trusted tie, too. [I'm showing some expensive options but you can obviously find cheaper ones]

I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving and long weekend [to those who celebrate of course]. I had a lovely, relaxing time! We still have one day left of the weekend, so make it a good one! Here are some photos from Friday when we went to get our Christmas Tree.  There are a lot of photos, so beware, I hate choosing what photos to post!  It was SO sunny on Friday that almost all my photos were taken into the sun so there are tons of rainbows, ha ha. It was also quite warm, very weird...it doesn't feel like Christmas is a month away. I DON'T LIKE IT! Get cold!!! [I'm going to regret that...]

On Thanksgiving my sister and I decided to make Christmas countdown things like we used to when we were little. All it takes is strips of red and green construction paper, and tape/staples.  You make a strip for each day left until Christmas and make circles with them intertwining them together. Then each day you take off a ring!

And as an added bonus, here is a rather amusing photo. You guys always see my serious side (...), but I am actually quite insane. ;) I laugh ALL the time and I cry every time. I can't even remember why I am laughing in this picture, but this is how you will see me most of the time.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the USA!!! I hope you are all able to spend time with your family and loved ones! Today I am off to my Grandmother's and tomorrow night we're going to my Aunt's. So I get to have two delicious turkey dinners...mmmmm!

Today is the day that we all voice what we are thankful for every day of our lives.  I am thankful for my amazing family and friends (that includes blogging friends as well).  I wouldn't last a day without them.  I am also thankful that I am able to spend my time doing what I love; fashion blogging and working on my Potter sites.

I am blessed to not have to worry about having enough money to afford to live the way I do.  These are the types of things we don't appreciate nearly enough. There are people who go hungry, have no homes and no clothing. We all need to remember to help out those in need when we can.  I don't do that nearly as often as I should, but I am going to make a point of doing it more.

P.S. What is it with me on Holidays? I always post a cartoon image... :p

 Happy Father's Day Daddy!!!! :D
Today is two major holiday's for my family.  First, of course, is Mother's Day.  We're going to my Aunt's house for a brunch to celebrate all the lovely mommys.

I'm not going to go into mushy stuff; 1. because I don't like being mushy and 2. you guys don't want to hear about all the stuff my mom does for me ;)  So I'll just say: Love you mom and thanks for everything!
Second, it is my brother's 20th birthday! He is making me feel so old (as is my other brother who will be 15 in June...). So Happy Birthday Jake!!!! :D
