As usual we had Easter on two separate days so I got to wear two different outfits. I have had this outfit in mind since I got both of these pieces at my Banana Republic Factory styling event. Unfortunately the shirt got a bit wrinkled from being packed and the pants are a little looser than I'd like, but overall I still like the look. I tried to add a bit of dimension by rolling up the hem, but not sure it worked the way I wanted it to. This is the first time I'm wearing the shirt, I'm not sure what took me so long to wear it, but it's been worn now!

I wore this over the weekend to do some shopping with my parents. It was almost Spring-like weather so I decided to wear my new Franco Sarto mules before they'll have to go away for a few more weeks once this warm snap disappears. For their first outing I went with a monochromatic blue outfit and threw on a faux fur vest for an extra layer since it was windy.

(I'm still in Florida, but it's the end of the month and that means wardrobe update time!)

I love the first wardrobe update of the year, it's such a nice, clean slate! This month my goal was to not spend any money on clothes. I did buy something, but I used a gift card so I technically didn't use my money. There's always a loophole, right?

But, as per usual, I went to DSW with my Mom "just to look" before I went on my trip. I almost made it out alive. I went through clearance in my size only looking for the yellow stickers (aka 80% off) and didn't see any good pairs so I joined my mom to see if I could help her find cute shoes. Then I found these AMAZING Franco Sarto mules and decided to see if they had them in my size too...they did, so I bought them for 50% off plus $5 more off. The color is perfection and they're a really soft suede. They're very reminiscent of the Gucci loafers everyone - including me - have been obsessed with for over a year. I had wanted the slingback version, super cool.

It's the blog debut of my Gucci sunglasses from Italy!! Sadly it's been so rainy since I got home that I've only been able to wear them a few times. But they're sure to get tons of wear over the next few years so I'm not worried.  It's also the Mickey bag's first time on the blog!  I primarily bought it to wear on my trips to Disney but knew I would bring it out in my regular activities too. It was the perfect match to go with this top and shoes.

Top: thrifted, Jeans: Current/Elliott (sample sale), Sandals: Franco Sarto (DSW), Sunglasses: Gucci (bought in Rome), Mickey Purse: Coach x Disney 'Patricia' saddle bag

We're slowly replacing thick layers with thinner layers and letting the toes out to breathe. Hopefully the temperature keeps inching up these next few weeks! I always forget how nice the color of this shirt is until I decide to wear it.

Vest: Ella Moss (Marshalls), Top: Altuzarra for Target, Jeans: Mother (Marshalls), Sandals: Franco Sarto (DSW)

I only wear these jeans a few times a year, but that doesn't mean they will be leaving my closet any time soon! I bought them quite a long time ago at Marshalls and they were just so fun and seventies. I love that they've stayed on trend for so long, let's hope the 70s trend doesn't leave us! Here are some other outfits featuring the jeans:

one | two | three | four | five | six | seven | eight | nine

P.S. Who else is super excited about Star Wars: The Force Awakens being released on dvd tomorrow?! Totally running out to Target this morning to buy it. (It was out on digital on Friday but I like the real thing.)

Cardigan: Marc Jacobs (Roundabout Resale), Tee: Everlane, Jeans: Free People (Marshalls), Sandals: Franco Sarto (DSW)

I keep forgetting I have these crazy awesome suede pants in my closet. I just gravitate toward my jeans so often that I don't think about my other pant options. I call these my swishy pants because they make a funny noise whenever I move, ha ha. This top was a buy during Piperlime's closeout sale. It was the piece in the order I was most excited about but it gets the least wear. I've only worn it one or two other times. But I'm liking the mix of textures when you mix the velvet, smooth "silk" and suede!

Cardigan: Banana Republic c/o Westfield Trumbull, Top: Piperlime, Suede Pants: Blank (South Moon Under), Sandals: Franco Sarto (DSW), Necklace: Madewell

CAPES! CASHMERE! COMFY! Excuse the all caps, but this cape is one of my favorite things. Sooo soft it feels lke I'm wearing a blanket, which I basically am.  I originally was going to just wear the top and jeans but felt like it was a little boring and decided to add in the cape.  I have had this cape for exactly two years today according to this blog post!

Cashmere Cape: b chyll (Roundabout Resale), Top: Altuzarra x Target, Jeans: Jolt (Marshalls), Sandals: Franco Sarto c/o Marshalls

I think it's time to get rid of this dress. The only reason I wore it this day was because I hadn't worn it all Summer. You know those pieces that you buy and they don't live up to your expectations but you keep them? I bought this in 2013 (for $63) and unfortunately it was final sale so it was either keep it or try to sell it on eBay. I've only worn it a handful of times, so I should probably give it up. Any takers? It is a lovely dress, just not me.

Dress: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Gilt), Sandals: Franco Sarto (DSW), Necklace: Marrin Costello

Some days you just have to wear double denim! We were still having cooler days when I wore this outfit so the denim jacket was the perfect finishing touch. This jacket has been in my closet for years but I never find the perfect time to wear it, this was one of those times.

Denim Jacket: Mudd (Kohl's), Tee: Everlane, Jeans: Current/Elliot, Sandals: : Franco Sarto (DSW), Necklace: Mom's

Would you believe me if I told you this is the first shirt dress I've ever owned? And my first real "little black dress" too. What can I say, I had to wait for the perfect one! And this Jason Wu dress definitely fits the bill! I scored it for $80 at Roundabout Resale  last month. I can definitely see this getting a LOT of wear over the next few years and beyond!

Dress: Jason Wu (Roundabout Resale), Bag: Wink & Winn (giveaway), Sunglasses: Cole Haan c/o Marshalls, Heels: Franco Sarto (DSW),  Necklace c/o Marrin Costello, Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Gilt)

Marrin Costello gifted the jewelry in this post, but all opinions are my own.

Today Lydia and I are excited to feature some pieces of jewelry from LA based designer Marrin Costello!  We partnered up with Marrin to showcase how we would style her fabulous pieces! I chose the MIDI Rings (gunmetal), Stellar Ring (gunmetal) and Helix (gold) necklace while Lydia opted for the Baby B (gold) and the Saratoga (gold) bracelets.

While all very different, each piece I received was well made and simply designed. I always find simple jewelry to be the best, because you can pair it with most anything.  For the looks I styled I showed both sides of the coin: a simple black dress with a necklace, and an outfit featuring a print.  I could have switched my jewelry for each look and still looked fabulous! That's how I know I found a great accessory.

Enjoy the photos below, and #DontForgetToAccessorize with Marrin Costello Jewelry! I'm really looking forward to the release of her Stoned collection because, as we all know, I love jewelry with gemstones and other pretty things.
