I can't believe we're a week away from Christmas already! I've been wearing all my holiday and red sweaters lately to keep in the spirit! We had a pretty dreary weekend so this sweater helped to brighten things up.

Sweater: Madewell 'Wallace' (Shobop), Jeans: Free People 'Jax' patched skinny, Loafers: Burberry Prorsum animal-print calf hair slipper (Net-a-Porter), Necklace c/o oNecklace

Three of the pieces in this outfit are old favorites. My first designer purchase, one of my first shoe splurges (that were actually a birthday gift) and my favorite jeans ever. Sadly I don't wear the Free People jeans often because they're super old and in that odd wrinkly stage that stretch jeans get to. You can probably tell in the photos in certain spots. I have 2 pairs of these because I kept buying searching for them on eBay and then one pair that's similar but not exactly the same.

The Marc Jacobs velvet polka dot blazer was my first designer purchase. I tried to find it for months after Emma Watson wore it (in a different color) in Teen Vogue. I bought it for $80 (and a second one for $20 8 years later because I needed to go up a size. I still have the original in my closet for nostalgic reasons.)

My Alexander Wang Freja boots were a birthday gift from my parents in 2011 - meaning I told my mom I wanted them and she said 'order them for your birthday!' I do love a good statement shoe that never goes out of style.  There are a few of these available on eBay (originally from his Spring 2010 collection) and some other sources but you have to be careful when looking for these because AW also made a cheaper version for the H&M collection which won't be as nice/high quality as these. I linked to only the "real" ones below but you can search for AW x H&M boots and find the other version.

Blazer: Marc by Marc Jacobs polka dot velvet jacket (eBay, green one here), V-Neck Tee: Everlane, Jeans: Free People (Marshalls), Peep-Toe Boots: Alexander Wang suede Freja boot in brick red (The Outnet), Bag: Dark Purple Chloé Faye (eBay, exact bag here), Necklace: Marrin Costello

Speaking of favorites - I wore this outfit on Monday to check out the recently renovated Luna Pizza in West Hartford. Before I went my Aunt told me it's one of her and my Uncle's favorite places to go for pizza. After going myself I can see why! I'm not normally a thin crust fan, but their pizzas are delicious. I wanted to keep eating all night!

While there I sampled their meatballs, garlic knots a baby spinach salad with strawberries and three pizzas! All the appetizers were delicious, especially the salad. Lydia, Jen and I tried the BBQ Pulled Pork, White and Margherita pizzas. They were all super good. The white pizza is just mozzarella, romano, garlic, parsley, and olive oil and it was amazing. The BBQ pulled pork had the perfect amount of sweetness from the BBQ sauce and the Margherita pizza was loaded with fresh tomatoes. I finished my meal with a delectable chocolate torte. It was very smooth and really chocolatey, just how I like it! I will definitely return to Luna Pizza if I'm ever in the area again.

What I ate:

This doesn't look like a first day of Spring outfit. Nevertheless it's what I wore on Tuesday for a couple quick errands and to get my free Rita's Italian Ice! Mmmm. Thanks to eBay you can still recreate this outfit even though it's 6 years old! I found the blazer, top and jeans available from different sellers.

Blazer: Gap, Top: Michael Kors, Jeans:  Free People (Gilt Groupe), Boots: Vintage (eBay), Scarf: Target, Watch: Michael Kors, Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Ozzie Square Baby Aiden' (Shopbop)

The Original:
I hardly ever wear my blazers anymore so I decided to pull one out this past weekend for no reason at all. This is one of my favorites because of the print mixing, color and the added touches of velvet. Such an amazing piece and I scored it for $188 4 years ago! And, as luck would have it, I found one for $200 on eBay if you like it!

Blazer: Etro (Roundabout Resale), Cashmere Sweater: Everlane, Jeans:  Free People, Bag: Louis Vuitton Epi Leather Sac D'Epaule (HauteTrader), Boots: Zigi Soho (DSW), Sunglasses: Gucci, Eyeglasses chain: Tinksky (Amazon)

Last Thursday I was invited to a blogger/media dinner at Jack's Steakhouse in New Haven.  Jack's opened in October 2017 in the heart of New Haven. It's close to theaters and Yale so you will have a lot to do before and after your meal. There is even a special Bistro Room where you can seat up to 56 guests for an event. Monday through Saturday they have a 2-course prix fixe lunch for $21. We were there on Thursday night so we got to enjoy live music from a local musician.

It was a little warmer that day so I was able to go sans coat (sans sweater too, but I wanted an extra element to my look.) I've been wanting to wear this snakeskin blouse for a while since it doesn't get as much love as it should and this seemed like the perfect occasion! It was dark by the time Lydia and I were ready for photos so please excuse the use of flash.

Cardigan: J.Crew (Roundabout), Top: Jason Wu snakeskin pussy-bow blouse (Roundabout), Jeans: Free People flares (Marshalls), Boots: 3.1 Phillip Lim 'Peggy' in patent leather and pony-hair (Barney's Warehouse), Bag: Louis Vuitton Epi Leather Sac D'Epaule (HauteTrader)

On to the food at Jack's Steakhouse. We enjoyed a 4 course meal and got to sample a bunch of different dishes family style. As one would expect from bloggers, once the plates arrived we all spent a few minutes lighting the table with our phones so we could get photos of the food.

My personal favorites were the Beet Salad, Bourbon Glazed Pork Belly Chunks, Curry Cauliflower and Porterhouse steak. The Beet Salad came with roasted red and golden beets, baby kale, pumpkin seeds and maple syrup vinaigrette. It also comes with a goat cheese croquette, which I did not sample (I'm a weirdo who hates cheese on most foods.) The pork belly chunks were roasted for 3 hours and were made with bourbon, brown sugar, salt and teriyaki sauce. The cauliflower was in a delicious curry sauce that added so much flavor. Finally, the Porterhouse steak was 44oz of wet aged beef and was soooooo tasty! I definitely had more than a few slices of that.
