I went a bit print/texture happy in this outfit. Snakeskin x 2 plus leopard print = Megan is crazy.  Normally when I wear these jeans I sport flats, but I decided I wanted to look super tall at work and threw on my Miu Mius.  I know platforms are going on their way out, but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop wearing these babies! I searched too long and hard to find them, so I'm going to enjoy them.

Good morning everyone, this is quite the rare occurrence: my This Week in Fashion post is going up LATE!  Why, do you ask? Because last night was my works Holiday party and I didn't get home until 3am...AHH!  But other than that this was a normal week; wake up, train, work, train, dinner, sleep.

Can you believe there's only one work week left until Christmas!!! Time is just flying by, crazy stuff! Today my mission is to wrap all my presents (and clean my house since during the week I have no time to clean.) Then tomorrow I'm going out to eat and to see The Hobbit with my roommate, YES (we are Lord of the Rings freaks)!!!

Monday: Sweater: Ralph Lauren (Good Will) $8, Tee: Kohl's $5, Jeans: Genetic Denim c/o Piperlime & Lucky, Rain Boots: däv giveaway win, Watch: Michael Kors
Tuesday: Sweater: T Babaton c/o Aritzia & Lucky, Dress: Marc by Marc Jacobs (eBay) $27, Sandals: Simply Vera, Vera Wang $20, Necklace: Acanthus Jewelry giveaway win, Watch: Michael Kors
Wednesday: Turtleneck Tank: Willi Smith (TJ Maxx) $15, Blazer: Darjoni (Good Will) $35, Jeans: Free People (Gilt Groupe) gift card, Heels: Lanvin (Roundabout Consignments) $80, Watch: Michael Kors
Thursday: Tank: Valentino (thrifted) $45, Jacket: Elie Tahari (thrifted) $30, Pants: Elie Tahari (Shopbop) gift card, Heels: Miu Miu (eBay), Watch: Michael Kors

I have to admit, looking at these pictures I'm not sure if I like this outfit. I wasn't sure about it then either, I guess it's because it is not something I would usually put together.  I wanted to wear heels with it but I was going shopping and didn't want my feet to die.

This outfit definitely shows my Marc Jacobs obsession. I should put on a whole Marc Jacobs outfit one day and see how crazy I look. I think I will, stay tuned...

On Wednesday night I FINALLY saw The Dark Knight Rises with my roommate and our other best friend.  I won't spoil you, but I will say that it was insanely amazing!!! My favorite of the trilogy at this point, I need to see it a few more times to really decide though, ha ha.

I wanted to wear my new sweater and shorts and luckily enough they work perfectly together! This has to be one of my favorite outfits in a while, along with when I wore my T by Alexander Wang skirt! Sorry in advance for the photo overload, I couldn't pick my favorites!

Sweater: LAUREN Ralph Lauren (Good Will) $9, Shorts: Zara, Flats: H&M $13, Bag: LAUREN Ralph Lauren gift, Bracelet: 31 Bits, Watch: Michael Kors

I'm also going to start using this widget so you can recreate my looks!

And, last but not least, here's my "I'M GOING TO SEE BATMAN" jump.
A few new items I've acquired over the past week.  First up is a pair of denim shorts from the Zara sale, I love these because you can wear them high waisted (left) or boyfriend style (right.) Next is a Zara blazer I've had my eye on for a while...unfortunately they were out of my size so I had to get the next size up, not sure how I feel about it.  I had some Harry Potter advertising money in my PayPal so I don't feel bad spending how much I spent, ha ha. If it were "real money" I would.

Lastly is a blue and cream striped Lauren by Ralph Lauren sweater I snapped up at Good Will on Tuesday for $9!  It is a size Large so it's slouchy on me, but that makes it even more perfect! The only problem is it is a bit uneven, the slits on the side aren't both on the side...one is in the back. Oh well, who will be looking at that anyway?!

Have you gotten anything new (and on sale) lately?!

Everyone is always so shocked to find I buy almost all of my clothes on sale for ridiculously cheap prices.  It really isn't too hard to do, so here are some tips for you girls!  First a lesson from The Nanny, Fran, NEVER pay retail because you can always find it or something really similar cheaper (sometimes there are exceptions to the rule).  And now for some quick tips that I have learned for myself and from my mother. She is the best bargain shopper I know besides me.

eBay - USE eBay!! It is where I get most of my designer stuff for dirt cheap. The only problem is you need to really watch out for fakes.  Check out this post for tips on buying on ebay: Bangin' Bargains: eBay Tips!

TJ Maxx/Marshalls - TJ Maxx, Marshalls and similar stores are great places to find affordable designer fashions!  I always head right to the clearance sections first to check out what they have and then I move on to the other sections.  In these stores you are going to have to search, but you can find some great gems.
Examples from my purchases: DKNY cozy for $20, Theory dress for $29, and tons more!

GoodWill - GoodWill is another great place to find designer clothes for cheap.  Once again you will have to do a lot of digging but you can find great deals such as: BCBG blazer for $12 or a quilted purse and Ralph Lauren sweater for $14! You may have to dig through a lot of junk but there are gems within the dirt.

COUPONS! - Another big money saver is a coupon, duh! If you are shopping online make sure to check sites like retailmenot or just search google for "bluefly coupon codes" or whatever store you are shopping at. You can also search for printable coupon codes as well! A lot of stores have one or two coupon codes floating around at any given time, so you should be able to find one.

Clearance Section - The first thing I do when I go to any store (in person or online) is head straight for the clearance section since I know I will not want to pay full price for something even if its awesome (because eventually it will end up in clearance too).  If you don't find anything in clearance, then by all means head over to the non-sale stuff, but always check clearance first because you never know what you'll find!

I guess that's enough tips and me rambling for now.

Friday after work I stopped off at Good Will since I was going to stop at Target to get a birthday gift for my sister (I got her a John Derian for Target 3 Piece Journal Set :) )  I ended up spending $13.99 at Good Will, I almost got some more stuff but I resisted.
I got a Lauren by Ralph Lauren cardigan/sweater and a nameless purse.  The sweater is a little big big and its a Small...grr! But I figure it will be nice and comfy for the winter and if I wear it unbuttoned it looks okay.  Plus chunky sweaters are in, so wahoo! AND it was only $8.99!!  Does it look too grandma-ey though? Be honest XD
I also got a really cute bag that reminds me a little of Chanel for $5.  I figure this can be my stand-in Chanel bag until I get one...HA!  I do have a glimmer of hope on that front, though.  As some of you might remember, my bosses wife works at Chanel and they have employee sales and they get 90% off (so that's like $460 for a bag or something)! So I asked if he could ask her to keep a lookout for a 2.55 or Classic Flap for me, hopefully he asked XD.  They don't sell black to the employees at the sales but I would be happy with pretty much any color :D [To clarify: the employees CAN get black, but they have to pay full price. They just don't have black at the employee sales]
My spending challenge is at $95.91, so I have $54.09 with 5 days to go, looks like I'll stay nicely under my budget!
