The weather has been all over the place lately. One day its freezing and windy (here) another it's 60 degrees and I'm enjoying the park! This outfit was all about being cozy for an 8 year old's birthday party. Even though it was chilly outside I decided to wear these mules to add some fun to the look, the party was inside, after-all! I've been favoring my easier to wear jeans but decided to make a statement with these patchwork jeans from Free People.

Purple Coat: Greylin Longline Shirt Jacket in purple (Anthropologie)

Sweater: Abercrombie & Fitch

Jeans: Free People 'Jax' Patchwork Jeans

Shoes: Splendid Harvest Mules in Tiger/Cheetah Print (eBay)

FlatSocks /co

Sunglasses: Gucci Aviators (bought in Rome)

Hat: Kensington Palace gift shop

Right on the heels of my new Burberry coat I got this gorgeous Greylin coat for Christmas. I have had it on my wish list since I saw it in an email blast so it was a nice surprise to see it on Christmas morning (I put it on my list but didn't expect it because it was a bit pricey.) It looks thin but is deceivingly warm and I love how roomy it is.

I accidentally had my purse on backwards for half the photos but, hey, that's real life, ha ha! This hat is one of my best vacation buys ever. I bought it in the Kensignton Palace gift shop when I went to London to ring in 2017. So whenever I wear it it's a reminder of that amazing trip! Sadly it was the last time I went to London, I miss it so much! Definitely working on getting Christian on board for a trip there soon.

Purple Coat: Greylin Longline Shirt Jacket in purple (Anthropologie)

High Waisted Jeans: J Brand 'Maria' High Rise in Supreme

Boots: Vince Camuto 'Davilla' (Marshalls/eBay, I have 2 pairs)

Bag: Purple Prada Cahier in Viola (Rebag via Vestiaire Collective)

Hat: Kensington Palace gift shop

Necklace: Indulgems (Gilt)

Can't believe it's my last wardrobe update of 2022, wow! I did buy a couple things this month. One cheap, one not so much...

Christian and I took a walk through Marshalls while visiting his family in Missouri (I needed a taste of home, ha ha) and we each got a new Christmas sweater. They're both men's sweaters because I didn't like any of the women's options. Luckily they had a small for me! I wanted the same sweater as Christian, but they only had mediums.

I also finally visited Marijane Boutique in Guilford and splurged on a Burberry Brit coat. Earlier in the month I won an Instagram giveaway they held for a vegan leather bag by Melie Bianco. It's a dead ringer for the Bottega Veneta Jodie bag that retails for $2650. (I had them ship it to me because I didn't know when I'd be able to get up there, turns out pretty soon, haha! Whoops.) Lydia works there so I've been meaning to stop by for a loooooong time! Christian and I were "just going to look" but of course I spotted this bright red coat and instantly had flashbacks of writing a dream outfit blog post in 2011 for going to the Christmas tree farm. It featured a Stella McCartney sweater (which I bought 2 years later on sale) and a coat very similar to this one. I'm also pretty sure when this coat originally was for sale I had it on various wish lists, but never bought it because of the price tag, even on sale. The 2022 version of the outfit came out pretty good!

Got a couple clothing gifts for Christmas too. A sweater to (hopefully) replace a super thin sweater I like to toss in my bag on Disney trips and other Summer destinations and a super fun coat from Anthropologie I've had on my wish list for over a year.

Earlier this month we went our our annual camping trip that I've been going on since I was about 7. There were a bunch of years during High School that I didn't go and during College but after that I went with my friends a few years and then Christian and I started going together with my Aunt & Uncle. The past couple years my parents and siblings joined back in too. So it's nice to keep the tradition going!

I shared some of these outfits on Instagram yesterday as part of a partnership with Aetrex, but figured I should share all the outfits photos I have. Camping is obviously not a fashionable vacation so these are super comfortable casual looks.

Also turning this into a mini travel guide of sorts since I'll chat about the activities we took part in on our long weekend.

P.S. Use code MEGAN20 at Aetrex for 20% off a full price pair of shoes through 7/23!

Shopping Outfit: Wore this for our morning trek over to The Vermont Country Store in Weston, VT.  A must-do on every trip. We arrived and had lunch at Mildred's Grill, shopped at the Vermont Country Store and then walked across the street to browse the Weston Village Christmas Shop and Weston Village Country Store. Then it was back to the campground!

Romper: Greylin 'Osten' Romper (Gilt), Bag: Etienne Aigner (thrifted), Sandals: Aetrex 'Janey Sport Slide' (gifted)

An Evening Walk: One evening we took a little stroll outside the campground to Jamaica Village and did a quick walk around the block. We didn't want to get bit up by mosquitos so we changed to jeans, ha ha. The village has a small grocery store, yoga studio and a couple galleries.

Tee: A New Day (Target), Jeans: Michael by Michael Kors, Sneakers: Ryka "Belong" Walking Shoe in Plum Red/Burgundy (DSW)

Swimming at Salmon Hole: The swimming at West River was a little crowded the weekend we went, it was the 4th of July, so we didn't actually do any swimming but I did take a morning walk along the river and stuck my toes in. Can't go camping here without at least touching the water! Back in the day there used to be a spot a little up river where the rocks were placed in such a way that if you sat in the right spot you'd have little waterfalls giving you a nice back massage.

Bathing Suit: All in Motion Zip-Front Racerback Laser Cut Back One-Piece in Black Floral (Target), Jean Shorts: Madewell, Sandals: Aetrex 'Janey Sport Slide' (gifted), Sunglasses: Ray Ban 'Erika' c/o Shopbop

Hiking up to The Overlook: No trip is complete without a hike on the Overlook Trail. There are two ways to get up here, we usually take the shorter route that has a bit more rock climbing involved and usually takes a half hour. There is a longer trail that has a more gradual uphill walk as well. The campground has other trails but I'm usually too lazy to do the longer ones these days. My new sneakers were very comfy and perfect for the hike.

Fun Fact: This is where Christian proposed to me in 2018, after I was attacked by mosquitos the whole way up, ha ha.

Tank: American Eagle, Leggings: Fabletics (old), Sports Bra: Fabletics (old), Sneakers: Ryka "Belong" Walking Shoe in Plum Red/Burgundy (DSW)

Hanging at the Campsite:  Our main activity over the weekend was just hanging out at our campsites, chatting, enjoying a fire and eating too much food. I hate getting bug bites on my feet so I sport the super fashionable "socks with sandals" that I would be embarrassed to be seen in outside of camping, ha ha. I also wore this to the Newfane Flea Market where Christian and I splurged on some delicious sausages from A Crooked Barn Charcuterie. Going to have to buy more next time we're in VT, unless the owner adds online shopping before then!

Top: Fabletics 'Savannah Top' (old) Shorts: Old Navy 'High-Waisted Textured Twill Shorts' in Copper Moon, Sandals: Aetrex 'Janey Sport Slide' (gifted), Sunglasses: Ray Ban 'Erika' c/o Shopbop, Socks: Target

Drive Home & Stop at Retreat Farm: On our drive home we decided to finally stop at Retreat Farm after saying "we should stop here" every other year. Christian bought a bunch of cheese at Grafton Village Cheese before we walked the grounds of the farm and said "hi!" to various animals including a HUGE bull named Carlos. We were there on the Fourth of July so it was not crowded at all, just how I like my activities! Before leaving we grabbed some strawberry and lemon gelato made with local ingredients.

Starting my honeymoon posts a couple days later than planned because the photographer (aka my husband, haha) has had a rough back to work week and hasn't had time to edit photos. We're starting at the beginning of the trip - ROME!

I wore this on our first full day in The Eternal City where we walked a whopping 11.7 miles. I don't think our feet ever fully recovered. We started early in the morning at the Colosseum where we were pretty much alone for the first 10 minutes, which was amazing! Then we saw most of the other big sites of the city (we're overachievers) throughout the day. I'll be going more into our itinerary in a travel guide after the outfit photos!

This romper is always perfect for hot weather, I'm covered up but it's still nice and breezy thanks to the cutout in the back.  My blue Marc Jacobs bag is the perfect travel purse because it's not too big yet it can fit everything I need (including a water bottle! except that does stick out a bit.) It got quite the workout on this trip so it will get a much needed break for a while.

Also, as a side note, this is the first post at the start of a partnership with Shopbop! I'll be receiving gift cards in exchange for including them in posts from time to time. Super excited as I've been a Shopbop fan for years - bought one of my first real designer purses (my purple Marc Jacobs) there!

Romper: Greylin via Gilt (shop rompers), Sandals: Ancient Greek Sandals 'Athena' (shop Ancient Greek Sandals),  Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Natural Selection Mini Messenger Bag' (shop more Marc Jacobs bags), Sunglasses: Chanel

The purpose of our trip to Rhode Island was for a family reunion with my Mom's side of the family. Unfortunately for us, it was the hottest day of the year and we were outside all day. Wearing this tiny romper with a cutout in the back let me have a nice breeze even though it was at least 90 degrees. When I first got this romper I wasn't sure how often I was going to wear it, but I've worn it more than I originally thought. I only paid $27 for it on Gilt so I don't feel as bad for only wearing it a few times a year. It's a great statement piece to bring out for special occasions.  It's currently on Rent the Runway for $30.

Romper: Greylin 'Osten' (Gilt), Sunglasses: Ray Ban 'Erika', Eyeglasses chain: Tinksky (Amazon), Espadrilles: Sam Edelman 'Lars' (Net-a-Porter)

I wore this on the 4th of July in Tennessee but never got around to taking photos of it so I decided to wear it again and take pictures! I don't wear this romper often, but it's such a fun piece!

Have you tried out rompers yet or are you still resisting because you think they aren't flattering? I think that if you find a style of romper that works for you, whether it be printed romper (my DKNY romper is also printed) or one with an long sleeves you will be converted! I had to try a ton of rompers before I found one that I liked. Mixology has an amazing selection of rompers, many on sale! Luckily for you, I have a $25 gift card to help you get started on your romper obsession!

Romper: Greylin (Gilt), Sandals: Ancient Greek Sandals 'Athena' (Gilt), Sunglasses: Gucci
