It's the last day of August, where did the Summer go?!  Not that I'm complaining, I am looking forward to Fall, sweaters, blazers and wearing all my jeans again! I got a little ahead of myself and wore my colored jeans this week, but I rolled them up to turn them into capris!  This outfit is very bright for me, I'm more of a darker color girl, but I may as well embrace the end of Summer with brights, right?!

When I wore this I went home so my mom and I could work some more on my Michael Kors inspired shirt (aka watch my mom sew.)  All that's left is hemming it!  We did run into a tiny problem so it isn't going to turn out exactly how I wanted, but it will still look great!

There was construction going on so I decided to use one of the trucks as a prop, because all normal people pose in front of John Deere bulldozers, right?  Sorry for the overload of photos, I couldn't choose!

Song of the Day: Yellow Submarine by The Beatles [Watch the movie on YouTube if you've never seen it, SO good!!]

Tee: Kohl's $4, Jeans: Guess (Lord & Taylor) $15, Belt: Kenneth Cole Reaction (Marshalls) $7, Heels: Lanvin (Roundabout) $82, Bangles: old, Watch: Michael Kors, Necklace: Vanessa Mooney giveaway, Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop), Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop) gift card, Nails: Chanel Peridot

There's something about jeans that I just can't resist. Though, most of the time, I am a good girl and do resist.  Whenever I go shopping I always end up in the jeans section drooling over the newest pairs.  Skinny, wide leg, colored, printed! Whatever they come in, I love them!  As Robert Palmer said, "might as well face it, you're addicted to jeans" (well, actually...he said "love" but you know what I mean) As the lyrics go: (change kiss to pair and love to jeans)
Whoa, you like to think that you're immune to the stuff, oh yeah
It's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough
You know you're gonna have to face it, you're addicted to love

You see the signs, but you can't read

You're runnin' at a different speed
Your heart beats in double time
Another kiss and you'll be mine, a one track mind
You can't be saved
Oblivion is all you crave
If there's some left for you
You don't mind if you do
Here is my jean collection, which I have whittled down considerably and continue to resist adding to. Not sure how long that will last, there are too many great new prints available.  What is the one item you just can't resist?! (if there's a link, they are still available online...for now)
Jolt, Current/Elliott, Guess, Rag & Bone, Free People, American Eagle, Free People, Free People, American Eagle
Free People, Guess, Jolt, Current/Elliott
Here are some jeans I've resisted in the past few weeks...perhaps if they go on sale I'll pick them up.

Today I'm off to NYC for two fashion events, don't know how I'm going to make it to both, but I WILL!...Hopefully I'll have photos for you tomorrow!
I have had this two piece Splendid dress for a month and have yet to show you it's natural state. Reason being?  It is just too skin hugging for my taste.  I bought it in the Net-a-Porter end of season sale not knowing how tight it would really be.  But I loved the top part so much that I decided to keep it in the end. Tt's really a shame because the fabric is so soft and comfy.  Since I probably won't wear the look out in public the way I bought it, I thought I'd show it in case it is your style.  I may not like skin tight clothes, but I know other girls do.

Dress/Top Combo: Splendid (net-a-porter sale) $48, Heels: Guess (Marshalls) $40

And here are a few of the ways I have worn the top half.  The possibilities are endless! Next time I'll wear it with my denim shorts from Zara! Perhaps I should wear the dress part as a nightgown so it doesn't rot in my closet.
Do you guys remember Lisa Frank? I used to be OBSESSED! I had the stickers, notebooks, folders, etc. and I wish it was still acceptable to own them.  Perhaps I'll pretend I'm 10 again and buy some! I still have my favorite stickers stowed away in my room, though! Sadly it seems like things have changed a bit since I was younger and they have added weird people...I was more partial to the cute rainbow animals, especially the pandas and unicorns!

Moving on...these Sally Hansen nail stickers reminded me of Lisa Frank, so when 2 of my (now ex) co-workers gave them to me on my last day I was SO excited! How awesome are they?!  Sadly I got very annoyed putting them on so I'll probably stick to regular nail polish from now on. I wore this simple, comfy outfit for a family gathering on Saturday. Because of my awesome nails I decided to add my old rainbow belt and really old rainbow bangles! I always love getting together with the family, it's so much fun! Especially when one of my Uncle's takes unflattering pictures of me stuffing my face with chili ;) (if I had it I would show you, but luckily it's on his camera and not mine...)

Top: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Marshalls) $25, Jeans: American Eagle $15, Heels: Guess (Marshalls) $40, Sunglasses:  Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop) gift card,  Watch: Michael Kors, Bag: Chanel, Necklace: Grandmother's, Bangles: Old, Rings: Mom's

WELCOME TO JUNE!!! :D

This might be my last This Week in Fashion for a while because today is my last day of work and I won't necessarily be getting dressed every day. BUT you can expect to see a lot more outfit posts around these parts because I will have more time for photos and experimenting with my clothes!  I won't get into the details but the short version is:  I decided to pursue my dream job in fashion so I left my job in order to devote more time to it. This is a very big step and an extremely hard decision to make.  If you want to read more, check out this note I posted on Facebook.

Do you gals have any exciting plans for the weekend? I might go to my brother's baseball game but other than that I don't really have anything going on, surprise, surprise...

Also, my Net-a-Porter sale order was delivered yesterday so I stopped at my parent's to pick it up! Sadly the Valentino heels were too small but the Burberry dress fit like a GLOVE! I am keeping the dress because it was MADE for me (okay, not really...but i love love love it!!!), so I need to find places to wear it! I will probably wear it to my cousin's wedding in July (since I can't wear the shoes, why not the dress?! :) )

It's a three day weekend!! WOOHOO! Let's hope the weather gets better and stays sunny!  This was a jeans week for me, but none of them are regular jeans! I love how much variety there is these days in jeans...printed, floral, textured, brights skinny, flare, etc.  Nothing really exciting happened this week, except for what you'll read below.  There may or may not be a Friday outfit because I wasn't feeling well last night (aka right now, because I'm writing this on Thursday night) and may not feel up to going to work...at least we are a little slow right now so they'll be okay without me. But let's hope I feel better!

Here's an awkward story for your enjoyment: Wednesday when I got to work a guy made it to the door before me so he held it open.  Obviously I was polite and said thank you while smiling.  Then later in the day when I was on my way to the potty (yes...I say potty) I saw him again so I smiled and waved (again, to be polite.  Then as I was getting into my car on Thursday I saw a business card stuck to the window, I picked it up and threw it in my car thinking nothing of it.  I stopped at my parent's for a couple hours and when I got back in my car to head home and I noticed there was writing on the back of the card.  It said:
"Hi, I'm not sure if you have a man, but if you do he's a lucky man! I like your style! If not, I would love the chance to buy you coffee, lunch of dinner. Cell # xxx-xxx-xxxx
Umm...awkward!!! I pretty much died laughing the whole way home. Yes, I know I'm mean for laughing at his expense but I can't help it. Now, this story would be completely different if he was tall and handsome, sadly he was short and awkward...depressing!   It's not like I get asked out every day either, this is  the first time, albeit weird, that I've been officially asked out by a boy.  Why is it always the weird ones?!! Any cute, normal guys out there interested in a date? ;)

Friday: Maybe coming soon...
I have a wonderful story for you all today.  It all starts with these amazing Current/Elliott leopard print jeans. [This is going to be a super long post, so feel free to skip down to the photos]
As you all must know by now, I religiously check NET-A-PORTER every Monday, Wednesday & Friday to check the "What's New" items. We also know that I am leopard obsessed.  So one day I was scrolling along, drooling over various designer items, and my eyes grazed over the jeans. I immediately fell in love!! Leopard + maroon is a dream combo for me.   They were promptly added to my wish list and featured in one of my "Current Lusts" posts and finally filed under the "I'll never be able to buy them" section of my brain. Because, really, who can afford to spend $200 on maroon leopard print jeans...I don't even pay that for regular jeans (but I am also cheap)! They may be in the NET-A-PORTER end of season sale, so if you love them keep your eyes peeled if you want them too!
That was all over 6 months ago, but at the beginning of May I got my daily email from Rue La La saying it was their Final Sale: Act 1! I figured I would check it out and not buy anything (like I do with every sale) and everything would be peachy. BUT then I see the name Current/Elliott under the brands...my heart stopped and I clicked on it.  And as I was scrolling down the page, there they were: the jeans!!!  For $59.90!!!!  There was only ONE left so I sadly clicked to see what size it was figuring it wouldn't be my size. Amazingly it was my size, so I stopped breathing for a moment and once I regained my composure I quickly checked out hoping I would be fast enough to grab them!

As you can see from the photos below, I was successful! I got my dream jeans for almost 70% off! AND I had $40 in my paypal (which as we all know isn't real money *wink wink*)  so I'm telling myself they were only $20 ;) Have you guys scored anything recently on Rue La La?

I couldn't wait to wear them so I threw them on with my Marc Jacobs tee on Friday to go out to Chili's with my best friends (I am addicted to Chili's chips & salsa...) I also used the awesome clutch that Christine gave me and the other girls at our blogger meetup a week and a half ago.

Tee: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Marshalls) $25, Jeans: Current/Elliott via Rue La La $60,  Heels: Guess (Marhsalls) $40, Watch: Michael Kors, Clutch c/o delachic, Rings: Mom's

Once again it was a very icky week! Spring needs to stick, we've had a few days of amazing weather but those are followed by rainy days. No good!  This weekend I am in for some much needed relaxation, no shopping allowed though because I'm still saving up for Net-a-Porter's end of season sale...whenever that is.  I don't have anything else to say today, so enjoy my outfits!

In other news, yesterday I got a mystery package (see instagram) and when I opened it I saw that it was a Brahmin 'Melbourne - Medium Arno' Croc Embossed Tote from VOGUE (A $245 value)! What a lovely gift to lift up my spirits!  Speaking of gifts, a co-worker gave me an adorable purse necklace on Thursday, it even opens up so I can hide things in it! I was thinking a crisp $20 bill in case I get robbed and they don't think to steal my necklace, ha ha.
