Guess what guys...I was able to go tight-less this week!!! It's a miracle!  On Tuesday I was brave and decided to forgo tights AND a coat.  My legs were mostly covered up by my boots while walking to work since I obviously didn't walk in heels. Let's cross our fingers that this weather is here to stay, although we are supposed to get rain again - yuck! I hope it's nice on Saturday in the least.

This weekend I went a little crazy with shopping. But I can't help it, I'm a shopaholic! Still sticking with my budget though, I'll just have to be careful the rest of the month.  On Saturday I headed to Roundabout, Anthropologie (just to look) and Marshalls!  I came out with a ton of great new pieces.

Roundabout: Their clearance sale was starting and I tried on about 20 things. I narrowed it down to three, very difficult. Sadly I left behind a beautiful Dolce & Gabbana dress that was on sale for $120. Here's what I ended up with: a Proenza Schouler sweater, Marc Jacobs cardigan, and Manolo Blahnik shoes! All purple/maroon...the obsession continues.
And the dress I left behind:

Anthropologie: I went in not expecting to buy anything but came across this sweater in the sale section for $30 and it was unique so I picked it up! It's not online anymore but you can search for it on eBay: "Angel of the North Algarve Beaded Pullover Sweater"

Marshalls: I had a gift card for Marshalls for my latest Project Fab challenge and ended up spending double what the gift card was ;) What can I say, I can't resist a deal! More on these soon (you've already seen 2 of them.)
My favorite things posts are usually reserved for clothing or accessories. But today I thought it was fitting to share one of my favorite stores, Roundabout Resale.  Roundabout opened in Westport, CT in 1989 and expanded to New York City in 2008 and currently have two stores there. They recently announced they will be opening a third store in New York City this March. Information on the store is as follows:
Roundabout, New York's leading purveyor of luxury resale and discount couture, is pleased to announce the Spring 2014 opening of a second Upper East Side location at 1100 Madison Avenue (between 82nd and 83rd Streets) having acquired the lease of the space currently occupied by Lumas gallery.
I have gotten some of my favorite pieces from Roundabout at amazing prices.  I mainly wait for their sales but sometimes I go in and just can't resist splurging on a one of a kind item.  Below are some of my favorite buys:

Chloé boots, Cashmere cape, Etro blazer, Manolo Blahnik pumps, Chanel blazer, Chanel skirt,
Cordani boots, Rebecca Taylor dress, Lanvin pumps, Balenciaga pants

And a gorgeous Tracy Reese dress that is waiting for the right occasion. Maybe my cousins wedding this Summer, but there is the slight problem of it being white-ish. But I think it's far enough from a pure white dress that it will work.

And here is some more basic information on Roundabout for those of you who are interested:
Owners Laurie and Richard Perren created Roundabout 25 years ago with the goal of having the best consignment / resale store in the country. With their unique business model they not only offer an amazing selection of pre-owned designer items from America's best closets, but through direct relationships with boutiques, showrooms and designers they are also able to sell current and past season "new" items at a discount of up to 70% off original retail. From cutting edge Alaia to classic Chanel, Roundabout is able to stock the finest labels in fashion at incredible prices.

By providing customers with a similar luxury shopping experience as neighboring high-end retailers, along with the assurance of impeccable condition and quality, Roundabout is able to obtain a higher selling price and therefore a higher return to the consignor than the current fad of online resale sites. Roundabout pays 66% of the selling price to consignors of Chanel, Hermes and Louis Vuitton handbags and 50% for all other merchandise.

It seems I have been into layering sweaters over dresses lately.  First last week, now this week. Ha ha.  I wore this last Thursday on my day off to run some errands.  We're getting into that nice pre-fall weather where we can wear sweaters and bare legs and be okay most of the time.  Such perfect weather if I do say so myself! Luckily, since this is a sweater over a dress I could have taken the sweater off if it suddenly heated up.

At the end of today I will officially be on vacation! No worrying about work until the 29th (but I'm sure I'll be checking work emails anyway) when I'm back in the office.  I won't be bringing my computer with me but I can't completely cut myself off for the week so I'll be keeping up with blogs at night on my iPad, though I might not comment.  I have posts prepared for the week so you'll be entertained and when I get back I'll hopefully have outfit posts if I can get some family members to take photos. I'm taking my tripod but am not sure I'll feel confident enough to use it in public.  Sunday is going to be the crazy day with a ton of extended family coming for the day and staying overnight.  Some are staying until Tuesday and then it will just be me, my youngest brother, my parents and my aunt and uncle until Saturday! Make sure to keep an eye on my instagram (closet_fashion) because I'm sure I'll be posting a lot on it!

P.S. I just love that I'm the model for my Monday necklace (see product page here), woohoo!

This past Saturday I met up with Lydia to check out Roundabout's sale (50% off! & a sidewalk sale where items were $10-$25.) Since I liked my Thursday outfit so much, I decided to wear it again so Lydia could photograph it. At Roundabout I tried on a bunch of pieces & walked out with 2 things (photo) I won't wear that often but had to purchase. It's like an episode of Resale Royalty I saw a couple weeks ago, sometimes I buy pieces to fulfill a fantasy life I wish I had. But that's okay as long as it doesn't get out of hand.

I bought a pair of velvet Balenciaga pants that retailed for almost $1000. I paid $35 because they were 75% off plus an extra 50% off! I also picked up a gorgeous Tracy Reese dress with a fun scale-like print for $59 (regularly $475 if eBay is to be believed.) At this point I have nowhere to wear it, but hopefully I'll be invited to a wedding or something soon!

After shopping we had a quick bite to eat and stopped at The Historical Christmas Barn to check out their sale. My sister used to work there and they always have really cute stuff. Before we went our separate ways, we took our outfit photos on a cute stone path behind the store. Prepare for a deluge of photos! (I said deluge like Dori in The Hobbit, he says it funny)

July is already halfway over...what is this madness?!  Right about now I am in vacation countdown mode, only one week to go and I'll be spending a blissful week in a beach house right across the street from the beach in Rhode Island!

I wore my new Marc Jacobs dress on Monday and I love it! It is super comfortable and I love the fun detail at the bottom. The only problem is it wrinkles SUPER easy (and I don't own an iron...) I'll just have to drive the long 5 minutes to my parents house when it needs to be ironed. I also wore a pencil skirt to work for the first time ever...what?!  But this skirt that I got for $10 at Coco's needs to be shown off, so I wore it with the sweater my grandmother made for my mom (who then passed it on to me) to dress it down.

Happy First Day of Summer! Today is the longest day of the year, hopefully I'll be able to hang out outside for a while and enjoy the fresh air.  We are slowly having less rainy days per week, that's something to be excited about, right?!  I have another day off today so I'll probably spend it shopping even though I shouldn't really spend money if I want to splurge on something when the Net-a-Porter End of Season Sale gets to final reductions. ;)

I really need to switch up my morning poses. But I take these pictures at 5:50 in the morning, so my mind is still in sleep mode.  On the plus side, at least I don't look like death warmed up this week. And I actually let my hair dry naturally this week so it's straight. I've been lazy lately and have gone to bed with my hair in a bun so it's wavy in the morning (and then straightens through the day.) Oh straight hair problems, gotta love 'em!

Also, I guest posted on Stylelista Confessions today, check it out!

I've been doing a lot of shopping lately...oops. But I have been pretty good about not spending too much the past few months. As of right now I am going to try not to shop until the final reductions in the Net-a-Porter sale, which should be in a few weeks.  Here's a roundup of my recent purchases:

I picked up 2 Equipment blouses and Current/Elliott Jeans at a sample sale yesterday. I have been searching for an Equipment blouse in my size that wouldn't break the bank and when I saw signs for a sample sale on Monday night I HAD to stop in on Tuesday before work! The blouses were $50 each. Expensive, yes, but cheaper than anywhere else, so I pounced. I bought a Brett blouse in purple (with some taping) and a Sophie blouse in pink/purple animal print! I also have been wanting a new pair of skinny jeans in a light wash (I haven't had any in a couple years) and these were only $41 as opposed to over $200! Perfection! They are SO soft, I wanted to die when I touched them, obviously I didn't.

Zara: I bought these adorable animal print shorts and floral print top. I also picked up this playsuit but it didn't fit me right.

Marshalls: Picked up these B.O.C. sandals to walk to work in. So far, so good!

Hautelook: Bought this Winter Kate top with store credit! Isn't it cute? It's not my usual style but I'm trying to branch out.

Roundabout Resale: This was my splurge...Manolo Blahnik sandals. I never thought I would own a pair, but when I was checking out Roundabout a couple weekends ago (they were having 20% off for Memorial Day) I saw a pile of white boxes and one shoe perched on top. I looked and they didn't have my size. The closest they had was a 9.5 so I tried them just for fun and surprisingly they FIT!  I walked around the store trying to decide and then bit the bullet and got them. After all, when do you have to chance to buy MANOLOs for 70% off retail. Exactly. :)  Aren't they amazing?!

Google will be discontinuing Google Reader on July 1st, so to continue getting all my blog updates (as well as your other favorites) import them to Bloglovin! They have instructions.
