I wore this on Day 3 of our vacation, which was spent at Universal (again).  We finished the night at their 25th Anniversary Concert Series where I won 2 tickets for special seating in the Coca-Cola Ahh Zone. We got to see Huey Lewis and the News, who were amazing! They did one of my favorites songs, If This Is It, as well as some other classics like Power of Love and Heart of Rock and Roll. I was hoping they would do Stuck With You too, but alas, they did not!

Huey Lewis concert tonight! Yesssss!!!!

I finally got to wear my adorable new DKNY romper and I am in love! It is really soft and comfortable and actually looks good on me! I've had a hard time finding a romper that actually flatters me, so I'm pretty pleased. I forgot to take off my knee brace before taking photos, but let's just go with it and pretend I'm accessorizing!

Romper: DKNY (Clinton Crossing),  Sandals: Ancient Greek Sandals 'Clio' (Nordstrom), Sunglasses: Ray-Ban 'Erika' c/o Ditto

If you follow me on Instagram, you will have noticed that I was in Florida for the past 6 days. Yes, I know, I go way too much! But to be fair, the first time I went to Florida was 2011, so I've been making up for lost time! I went for my friend's birthday and we left on Thursday and arrived home last night.  We spent our time at the theme parks, Universal and Disney, as per usual.  Such a fun trip, but SO hot!  Here is what I wore for our first evening at Universal.

Tee: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Marshalls), Jeans: FRAME 'Le Skinny de Jeanne' (Shopbop), Sandals: Ancient Greek Sandals 'Clio' (Nordstrom), Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Natural Selection Mini Messenger' (Saks Friends & Family Sale), Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop)

Stop the presses: I'm wearing white jeans! As many of you will know, it is quite rare for me to wear white. I'm afraid of staining it, it being see-through and any other issue that could arise when wearing white. But since I've been wearing this sweater so often with blue jeans I thought I would give it a try with my white jeans for a classic nautical look.

Sweater: Club Monaco (Clinton Crossing Premium Outlet), Jeans: Mother Denim 'The Rascal' Crop c/o Marshalls, Sandals: Ancient Greek Sandals 'Clio' (Nordstrom), Clutch c/o Soul Uganda - Mulungi Collection, Sunglasses: Ray-Ban 'Erika' (Ditto)

This outfit features two new basics that should get a lot of wear this Summer! First up is the navy tee which I have been wanting for quite some time but was never able to find. You know how it is, the perfect basic is so hard to find! The same with these navy sandals. I have a bunch of navy pieces but no navy shoes so I searched high and low and ended up splurging on my FIFTH pair of Ancient Greek Sandals. What can I say? If you like a brand, stick with it.

Have you bought anything in Net-a-Porter's End of Season sale yet? I'm still holding out for lower prices, but you can see my favorite pieces here. I bought this skirt during last year's sale and although it has only made it on the blog a couple of times it has been worn quite a bit!

Tee: Madewell, Skirt: Carven (Net-a-Porter Sale, also here), Sandals: Ancient Greek Sandals 'Clio' (Nordstrom), Necklace: Marrin Costello
Sometimes I can't decide what shoes to wear with an outfit, there are just so many options! I wore this outfit to a dinner with some family friends. I wanted to wear the heels so I'd feel a little dressier, but I also knew everyone else would probably be casual so I thought I should wear the flats. Needless to say I was a weirdo and brought both pairs with me and changed into the flats before getting out of the car. Oh well! It's good to have options.

The weather was oddly warm the weekend I wore this, I didn't need my leather jacket.

Leather Jacket: Theyskens' Theory (Nordstrom Rack), Sweater: Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Pyo' (Saks Off Fifth), Jeans: Free People (eBay), Flats: Chanel (eBay), Pumps: Coach 'Nacie' (Marshalls), Necklace: BubuRuby

Last week I was invited over to Mystic Aquarium for an Endless Jewelry event hosted by Simply Majestic. I asked Lydia to come along because I know she loves a good event and I hate going to things alone!  Since the event didn't start until 6, and we wanted to avoid the traffic, Mystic kindly offered us passes to visit the aquarium beforehand! I hadn't been in about 7 years and have been wanting to go back for quite some time. (check out Lydia's post too)

It was a beautiful day to watch the beluga whales and penguins outside. The whole place had been decorated for Halloween, which was a fun surprise! They even put pumpkins and skulls inside the fish tanks in the main gallery. There are so many interesting (and educational!) exhibits going on right now - check them all out! Unfortunately, we missed the Sea Lion show because we were too amused by one of their new exhibits - Jellies: The Ocean in Motion. I did a quick hyperlapse of some of the jellies floating around:
We also made sure to check out their latest 4D movie - SEA MONSTERS 4-D: A Prehistoric Adventure which follows the life of sea monster. Where does the 4D come in you may be thinking? Well, be prepared for water to shoot at you and even teeth to puncture your back while you're watching the fully immersive 3D movie.  It was really fun, although I wasn't in the best outfit to get wet.

Lydia and I didn't want to bring two outfits so we decided to do transitional looks.  I think hers was more successful since my dress is really dressy to begin with. But I think sporting flats and a leather jacket helped to dress it down a little bit more. Check back tomorrow for my event outfit and a recap of the evening.

Dress: Altuzarra for Target (also here),  Leather Jacket: Theyskens' Theory (Nordstrom Rack), Bag: Chanel (Madison Avenue Couture), Flats: Chanel (eBay), Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop)

Aquarium photos:
I love leather jacket season! And the funny thing is: I didn't own a leather jacket until I randomly found this for a steal last year. It will definitely be a huge staple in my wardrobe for years to come. I wore this over the weekend to the Heritage India Festival the next town over with my aunt, brother and his girlfriend. I had a lot of fun people watching and almost bought a gorgeous tunic, but I resisted because I wouldn't have worn it a lot.

Song of the Day: Slap Leather by James Taylor

Tee: Madewell, Jeans: Free People,  Leather Jacket: Theyskens Theory (Nordstrom Rack), Flats: Chaps (Kohl's), Bag: Etienne Aigner (thrifted, $2!), Necklace c/o Gorjana Griffin, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage & Mom's
