This week the designers that are competing at fashion week were chosen.  The designers had to create a look inspired by New York City.  I am very happy with their choice, but don't worry, as usual I won't give anything away except for the outfits :p I put them in order from favorite to least favorite this week.  When I'm talking I'm pretending that all of them are going to fashion week, when in reality at least one of them is not.

Mondo:  Once again Mondo showed how great he is with different prints and textures.  He doesn't need color to make an interesting outfit.  I would be very excited to see his looks at fashion week if he was chosen.  I know he is capable of awesomeness!
Michael:  Michael's dress was GORGEOUS, it was pretty simple but thats what made me like it so much.  I feel like he could do very well or very poorly at fashion week but I know he has it in him to be wonderful!
Andy:  Andy did a typical "Andy" look this week, very strong and very cool.  I really loved the materials he used as well, I would definitely wear this dress.  It had a GORGEOUS back.  I know his looks at fashion week will be very cool (if he goes), I do hope he uses some color to his stuff though.
Gretchen: I was disappointed with Gretchen this week, I know she is better than this look and I really hope she can pull herself together for fashion week.  I like the print of the skirt, but that is about it.
April: April did what she always does, the same dress but with a bit of variation.  I did like it but I feel like I've seen this dress every single time.  I hope at fashion week she adds color and makes more than just dresses (and no triple panties)

I'm about to head off to my shopping spree with my mom, but here's a quick recap from this weeks Project Runway. (for those who were asking, my birthday is on Monday ;) )  I'll post what I bought (if I get anything....) tomorrow :D

This week was another doozy!!  Here's what I have to say about everyone's looks, each person had to do 3 looks for Heidi's line with New Balance.  Overall i was pretty disappointed in everyone apart from Andy and Mondo (I would even considering buying the pieces even though I don't workout).  (I also have to say that I HATE Ivy...wow...what a butthead)

Mondo - Mondo had a rocky first day but made up for it the next with his looks! They were very cool and I would totally wear them, especially the one with purple pants!

Gretchen -Gretchen's looks were okay if you took some pieces away, but some the one with the weird pants had some odd proportions. I also didn't like the white dress look
Andy - Any's looks were great, definitely my favorites (with Mondos)!   I think the shapes he made with the fabric really made the looks.  They were like fashionable zebras ;)  I have nothing more to say :p
April - April's looks were interesting. I'm still not sure if I like them or not, they don't seem like something the New Balance woman would wear...but I don't workout so I wouldn't know ;)  I do think they are very pretty though, just not for working out.
Christopher - Christopher's looks were a little boring.  I like how he added a twist to the normal sweatpants by having it tied with a string and have a slit, BUT they didn't quite come off as cool as it could have. I was a little sad since his looks weren't as good as I know he is.

Michael -I felt so bad for Michael this week, I don't understand why everyone hates him so much *sigh* Now moving on to his looks: his pieces were okay but I'm not sure of the color pallet.  I also don't like the belt he paired with the light brown dress.

This was a very emotional week on Project Runway, happy and sad.  The challenge was to create a print inspired by their life and then make an outfit using it.  Here's what I thought of the outfit.

Mondo  Guerra  - Mondo's outfit was my favorite again this week.  It doesn't look as good in the photo as it did on the runway, but trust me, that top is AWESOME! And the print had such a deep meaning, it got me (and everyone else) teary.  So yea...loved this even if I wouldn't be brave enough for those pants!

Andy South - I was a bit disappointed with Andy this week, usually I love his stuff but this week was a flop. Hopefully next week is better.  I do like his print, but I wish he had made the outfit more "him", it just seems boring to me.
Gretchen Jones  - I liked the print Gretchen made but I wish she had varied the sizes a bit.  The pants are also very cool!  The top is a bit weird though, not sure if I like it, ha ha.
Christopher Collins - Christopher's look was nice but a bit boring.  I like it, but then I don't. I can't really explain it, haha.
Michael Costello -  I loved Michael's print, it was so cool and it wasn't overpowering.  The shapes are a bit odd, but I like them anyway.  Not a fan of the shoes though.
April Johnson - April's dress was very cool, I loved how she incorporated her print into the look and the skirt has such a fun texture going on!  I also liked the asymmetrical top.
Valerie Mayen - I liked Valerie's dress but if it was in pieces.  I like the skirt and the texture, but I wish she didn't add the blue slip thing under it.  I also think that the top should have been solid black.  But I would have liked the top with a different bottom....if that made any sense.

Another crazy week on Project Runway as usual!  This week the designers had to create a high fashion look and a ready-to-wear companion to appear in a L'Oréal Paris ad. I'm not going to do a Top and Bottom 3 this week, rather I will to say what I think of each designers looks :D  There will be no spoilers beyond the outfits and who did them, I won't say who won or was sent home.

Andy South - Andy has such a unique aesthetic and I LOVE it.  His first look, though wild and crazy, really works with his whole styling of the model.  The second look totally relates to the first but in a much more wearable way, I would definitely wear it for a night out!
Mondo  Guerra - Mondo did such an awesome job this week. It's not easy working with bright striped fabric and he made it look so elegant! I wouldn't wear the first dress but it is a gorgeous look!  I would, however, wear the second one, it is so gorgeous and you can tell it is part of the same collection as the first dress.
Gretchen Jones- Gretchen's looks were very from her usual style this week, I loved the colors she used.  I do like the first look but I think it could have been a little tighter on the model, it made her look wide.  But the effect with the hand-sewn on feathers looked great while she walked.  The second look also was great when it moved, the light blue really opened up to show off her legs and the darker blue skirt part.
Christopher Collins - Both of these looks are very pretty.  My only problem with the first one is that the model's boob was bouncing all over the place because there was no support for it, but the dress is very beautiful.  The second dress just has weird straps, but other than that I think a lot of people would love to wear it.
Michael Costello - Normally I love Michael's looks, but this week they were a bit off.  I LOVE the color and I love the geometric look he was going for.  BUT both looks have a bit of a problem; the bottom on the high fashion look is very odd because of the wiring.  The second has a REALLY weird top, since he went for a short dress I feel like he should have at least made the top a tank to off-set it.
April Johnson - I'm still not sure what I think of these looks. I think they are pretty cool but I don't think I would wear the first one.  The second, however is pretty and grungy all at once, which is something I like, it also has a very cool texture.
Ivy Higa - Ivy usually goes for boring muted colors and makes really great clothes, this week however she went for bright colors. Now I see why she stuck with neutrals, this blue is a very odd color, the tops are also very weirdly shaped. The bottom of her high fashion dress does have some promise though, if only the rest of the dress complimented it.
Valerie Mayen - Another set of disappointing looks.  In the past I had liked Valerie's designs, but this week she really dropped the ball.  These looks could have been great but right now they are a little boring and I don't feel like they relate to each other at all.

Another crazy week on Project Runway. As usual, here's a quick breakdown of my favorite and least favorite looks and the in betweens!  This weeks challenge was to do a look inspired by Jackie O, so a Classic American look (funny since someone said my outfit on Wednesday reminded them of her, ha ha).  Maybe next week I'll start writing a bit about each outfit since it's getting harder and harder to pick a top and bottom. (most of these are pretty even XD)
TOP 3 (don't like the jacket on the last one)

Before I start my recap, I wanted to take a moment to remember those who lost their lives 9 years ago today on September 11th.  I can still remember that day, I was in science class when we heard rumors about something happening in NYC, then in Spanish class we watched the news and saw what happened.  Later in the day I went to visit my grandmother in the hospital (in CT) and we could see the smoke from the towers from her room.  It was a tragic day and we should never forget all the heroes and workers who died that day.  Rest in Peace.

Today is also my mother and father's Anniversary.  So I'm cooking dinner tonight as an anniversary gift, perhaps I shall do a little entry on what I make if it is exciting enough, still not sure what I'm making ;)

And lastly, for those that asked. My job is a Junior Programmer and Graphic Designer at a Marketing agency.  So I code websites and do some Graphic Design when there is no coding to do.  Pretty fun stuff. :)

Another very interesting week on Project Runway, this week I disagree with who they sent home (won't spoil it though) and I wish another had won, but I still liked the winner's look ;)  The challenge was Resort Wear (it was a bit hard to choose my Top 3, they were all pretty close, except the first one, that is my favorite):
