Apparently this year is all about re-buying favorite pieces in my closet because the originals are too loved. Last month it was a bathing suit, this month I finally re-bought an item I have been hunting for for a couple years. My beloved pair of silk pants from Sea New York.
I originally bought these printed silk pants in March 2015 for $56 in The Outnet's Clearance Sale for my trip to Santorini that Spring. They became a staple in Summer and I wore them all the time. I kind of stopped posting them on the blog because I had featured them so often, but their last appearance was in June 2019. Then a couple years ago the fabric underneath where I sit ripped, probably from so much sitting on planes, ha ha!
I was following a pair on Poshmark for much of that time but the seller wouldn't budge on their price so I waited. While shopping for another replacement at ThredUp I happened to find a pair for just under $30 thanks to a 50% off deal! Funnily enough I did a partnership with them way back in 2014, crazy how time flies! I also picked up a J Crew printed camisole for $7.99 and a replacement for my Who What Wear shirt dress for $11.50. I used blog revenue for all 3!
I'm still on the hunt for a replacement pair of GH Bass cargo pants that are really starting to wear out. I got them in 2017 with a gift card, but they were $21 (retail $69) so I guess I can allow myself a slight splurge on the new pair knowing how much I wear them. I found a blue pair in medium, but I want the green, and a small, but I should be okay with a medium as well.

For the past couple years I have been mulling over the idea of needing some new one piece swimsuits. This month I ended up getting a replacement for one of my favorite suits because I found the same one new with tags on eBay and a couple actual new suits.
I still wanted another option so I have been stalking Lands End for a good coupon code (every day there is a new code but stuff is always the same price, ha ha) and finally gave up when they had a slightly better sale at the end of this month. I grabbed 2 suits because 2 for $86 sounded better than 1 for $58, ha ha. The new ones haven't arrived yet so I don't know if I'm keeping them, but including anyway! Unfortunately they are non-returnable so if they don't fit I have to sell them or something. It was worth the risk, I hope, because I have wanted the purple ombre suit for quite a while and the tropical print one is very fun!
EDIT: They fit!

I got a few basics this month with two $10 J.Crew coupons that were floating about. I was going to get a purple tee and the blue v-neck but then I ended up getting a second blue tee to see if either would match one of my favorite tees from Everlane that I had to get rid of last year. One is also a men's tee, why do they get nicer shades sometimes? The men's color is closer to what I was going for, but still a little darker.
We also went to the last opening day for the Eddie Bauer outlet at the Westbrook Outlets by chance after a cars and coffee event we went to where everything was at least 80% off. Christian had discovered he loved their tees so we wondered if they might have some left. They did not, but he got a couple fleecey long sleeves for $30 total (this one and this one.) I ended up finding some things for myself too for camping/workouts. There were mostly just super small and very large items left on a couple racks but I managed to squeeze into a pair of fleece-lined pants, leggings and got a large tank that will be nice and loose for Summer, ha ha, all for $40.

I did do a sponsored post that resulted in a couple new pieces! A pair of gorgeous Marilyn Monroe inspired earrings as well as a pearl necklace that hasn't arrived yet (made to order)

I added a new basic to the closet this month - a cozy brown cardigan I found at Marshalls. I've been keeping my eye out for a great brown sweater or cardigan for a while now and just happened to flip past this on the rack at Marshalls. It was the only one and was exactly what I was looking for. I couldn't find it online, but it is very similar to this sweater, also on their website and this wool & cashmere option.
Earlier this month, Nood sent me a couple of their products to try out. This is not something I usually talk about on the blog, but as someone who hates to wear bras I love when I can avoid that. I had been using another brand of non-adhesive nipple covers previously, so I was curious to see how Nood's covers differed. I received both their non-adhesive and adhesive covers. The smaller size made them stay on easier and just like my other brand, they were invisible under my clothes! I wear the non-adhesive ones under tighter shirts and use the grippy with looser shirts. I'm interested to see how wearing them for a longer period of time goes, I've only had them a couple weeks at this point but I am very happy with them. The adhesive ones take a bit more maintenance, but it's worth it!

We've got a successful no shopping month. Probably because I was away for half the month, ha ha! I took 2 "working" vacations to North Myrtle Beach and Orlando - where I worked during the day and did vacation stuff during the evenings and weekends.
I had my eye on a few pieces but waiting for some good sales to add them to the closet because I really don't need anything.

We had a big purchase this month. The Chloe Alphabet Saddle bag in brown and red colorblock leather! It's been on my list (see blog sidebar) since I first saw it on Net-a-Porter in 2022 and then on Italist for a little bit cheaper. I regretted not buying it from Italist for $700 and had been hunting for it ever since. I finally got lucky and one popped up on eBay for about $515 all the way from Australia!
I also got a couple new pieces during tax free week here in CT. For those that don't know, we do a tax free week around back to school time for all clothing items under $100. My Mom & I headed to Marshalls and found a few things each, ha ha. I ended up returning one of mine at a different Marshalls but then found a replacement item I liked more so still ended up spending the money. Unfortunately I couldn't find either one online.

I bought a bunch of new things this month, mostly basics. Last October one of my favorite pairs of Ancient Greek Sandals finally called it quits and a strap broke while I was at Disneyland. They were very well worn in the 10 years I owned them and walked hundreds of miles around Greece, Italy, Florida and more Summer holidays. I finally replaced them with a new black pair after putting it off for months. I almost bought the same exact pair - the Alethea (without the perforations) but because of tariff fears and the price I decided to go the eBay route instead. I was choosing between a few pairs and ended up with a new in box pair of Chania sandals for a great price. Because they were so (relative to retail) cheap I allowed myself a little extra treat and bought a second pair of Ancient Greek Sandals on Poshmark for only $15! They are technically a size too large, but who cares at that price!
I also made an Old Navy order after my mom showed me some pieces she got recently. One was very similar to a sweater vest my Grandma knit that I wear a LOT over the Summer - it just doesn't have buttons. I got it in Gingerspice/rust (same as my Mom) and thought about the Sea Salt color too but it was a bit too white for me. I also ordered the Blue Multi version for Mom because she wanted another color, ha ha! I almost didn't buy anything because of the price but then it went a little more on sale so I decided to go for it.

The cold weather and general unpleasantness of Winter has led to no purchases for February. I did stop by Roundabout in Westport earlier this month for their end of season sale but the one thing I wanted—Charlotte Olympia velvet kitty flats—was only 30% off instead of 70 so I resisted.

And just like that, it's the end of January. This was a weird month for me because the first 10 days I was dealing with some issues with our house while also finishing preparations for our 2 week trip to Japan. From the 11th through the 24th we were in Japan and then it was back to work for the final week of the month.
I did make my first purchase of 2025, and it's a good one! I knew I wanted to try and find a secondhand designer bag in Japan since the exchange rate is amazing right now and they are very strict with counterfeit items so I knew whatever I found would be authentic. I would have loved to grab one of the many Birkin bags I saw, but they were still very expensive. I came close to a few Chanel bags in various colors and a Dior Saddle Bag but in the end I found a 2018 Mini Loewe Puzzle bag in a lovely red color! A puzzle bag was on my short list of things to find. At the beginning of the trip I had seen a few, but none in exciting colors (I didn't want tan or black or cream.) There was a nice light blue but it was a Nano size which I don't believe they make anymore.
I bought a shirt and a sweatshirt at Tokyo Disney as well, but since I won't really wear them outside of Disney I don't count them in my wardrobe, ha ha.

I treated myself to a Disney Christmas sweater this month during Target's Black Friday sale. It was 25% off and I had gift cards from various Target Circle promos! Technically it's the men's sweater, but I never buy the women's versions because they are Minnie Mouse and I prefer Mickey. Side note: it really annoys me that everyone has "Black Friday" sales all month long now. Black Friday is ONE DAY. Just call it a holiday sale or something, but since everyone googles Black Friday they have to use those words. *sigh*

This month I engaged a bit of retail therapy. My mom and I spent a morning at Home Goods and Marshalls. I resisted buying anything at Home Goods even though I wanted a new comfy blanket. I wasn't so lucky at Masrhalls. I tried on a couple "fun" things I knew I wouldn't buy as well as a couple clearance finds which I ended up purchasing. Then later that week I went out with Christian and got a new blanket at Home Goods, ha ha! Of course, right after that I got approved for a sponsored post at Ocean State Job Lot and ended up with another blanket from there, so now we've got two new blankets!

Nothing new this month. It was a very odd month because I was on a trip right before the month started, then we were gearing up for Christian's birthday followed by a business trip the next weekend. I also had a few Layla-sitting days mixed in. I definitely don't need to be shopping for clothes, but I do miss it. Sometimes I just want to go on a shopping spree and blow all my money, ha ha!

Well, I finally got new jean shorts like I've been talking about since last year, ha ha! I got a 40% off coupon for Kohl's so I decided to take a look. I ordered two pairs figuring I would return one but they ended up being such different colors that I kept both for different occasions.
