Another monochromatic look for you all to enjoy (or not enjoy.) This time with more of a Fall color scheme with my second favorite color: BURGUNDY! These pants are perfect for the transitional time between Summer and Fall because they're so light and breezy but also keep me warm if it gets chilly. It probably would have been smarter to finish this outfit off with flats, but I always feel too pajama-ish when I wear these with flats because of their fit.

Tee: H&M, Pants: Maison Scotch c/o Lucky and Aritzia, Shoes: Manolo Blahnik (Roundabout Resale), Sunglasses c/o GlassesShop,Bag: Etienne Aigner (thrifted), Cuff c/o 9th & Elm, Watch: Skagen (RueLaLa), Initial Necklace c/o Gorjana, Number Necklace: Bijou Limon (etsy)

It seems I am very in to monochromatic outfits this year, but it's so easy! That's one good thing about having a lot of certain colors.  This outfit was worn on a cooler Summer night hanging out with the family.  I seem to go through phases. For a while I shunned t-shirts because I felt they looked bad on me or too basic. But the past couple of years I've been all about them again! And Everlane makes the best! I buy the men's tees in XS, but now they have some looser-fit women's styles that I may try! At $15, how can you not?!

Tee: Everlane, Jeans: Target, Sandals: Ancient Greek Sandals 'Astrapi' (net-a-porter), Sunglasses c/o GlassesShop, Watch: Skagen (RueLaLa), Necklace: Grandma's

Hawaiian shirts are apparently having a comeback. Something I didn't realize until I began searching for style inspiration for this Miu Miu top I picked up thrifting last year for $10.  It has taken me a long time to be brave enough to wear it, but I had to have it since it's my favorite color, and unique....plus it's MIU MIU! My top is on the wilder side of things shape-wise, but you can find a more subtle top if you want to try the style out. I wanted to wear it with jeans, but since it's the middle of Summer I opted for a denim skirt instead.

Top Miu Miu (thrifted, similar), Skirt: Mother Denim c/o Marshalls, Tank Top: Vince c/o Marshalls, Shoes: Manolo Blahnik (Roundabout Resale), Bag: Chanel, Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop), Initial Necklace c/o Gorjana, Number Necklace: Bijou Limon (etsy), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports & Mom's

Here is how the top was styled on the Spring 2003 runway, I toned it down a bit for my look.

I wore this outfit a couple weeks ago to an advance screening of Daniel Radcliffe's new film, What If, which will be released next month. My Carven obsession continues with this fun new skirt! I've always had a thing for their prints but never bought any of the pieces until this year because they're a bit pricey. But let me tell you, they are totally worth it! I've worn my Paris print dress a ton and hopefully can say the same for this in a few months time.

Tee: Everlane, Skirt: Carven (NET-A-PORTER End of Season Sale), Sandals: Sam Edelman c/o ThredUp, Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Saks Friends & Family Sale), Necklace: House of Harlow c/o South Moon Under, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports & Mom's, Sunglasses: Cole Haan c/o Marhsalls

Summer Shopping Challenge Outfits: Look #1 | Look #2 | Look #3 | Look #4

We're back at the library again today. I just couldn't resist the marble steps and door for these photos as well. I feel like this outfit would be perfect for a nighttime reception or gala...maybe not though. For this third ThredUp look I styled a MICHAEL Michael Kors caftan that I got for $28.49 (I found the same one on eBay for $54.) I was going to wear it with white jeans, but my old self got the better of me and I reverted to dark gray ones.  They make my legs look skinnier and I don't have to worry about getting them dirty! Ha ha.

Top: Michael Kors c/o ThredUp, Jeans: Mother c/o Marshalls, Bag: Chanel (Madison Avenue Couture), Sandals: Simply Vera Wang (Kohl's), Sunglasses: Cole Haan c/o Marshalls, Lightening Bolt Necklace: Bubu Ruby,  Initial Necklace c/o Gorjana, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports & Mom's

I wore this the day we went to go see Jimmy Fallon tape his Monday show! Then we headed to Margaritaville at Universal's CityWalk for dinner. Basically a nice, laid back day! Sadly these sunglasses did not make it home. I somehow lost them one of the nights of the trip. They were in my camera bag and must have fallen out when I was rushing to put stuff away...so depressing! Maybe my Marshalls will have another pair.

Dress: ELLE (Kohl's), Sandals: Ancient Greek Sandals "Athena" (Gilt), Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Saks Friends & Family Sale), Necklace: Geoclassics, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports & Mom's, Sunglasses: Etienne Aigner c/o Marshalls

I always feel very 70s when I wear these Free People flares, and the addition of my new necklace really added to the vibe.  I won this super cool locket at South Moon Under's Grand Opening party, it's by House of Harlow and doubles as a locket! Now I just have to figure out what to put inside it. I also won this House of Harlow "Engraved Orb Pendant Necklace."  This is what I wore on Mother's Day, although it was a little too warm for the top, but I'll take warmth over cold any day, wouldn't you?

Top: Equipment (sample sale), Jeans: Free People (Marshalls), Wedges: Steve Madden (DSW), Sunglasses: Etienne Aigner c/o Marshalls, Necklace: House of Harlow "Tribal Locket Necklace" c/o South Moon Under, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports & Mom's

I wore this last weekend to head to one of my favorite stores, Mother Earth Gallery (it has autoplay music, beware).  I have a wide array of interests: fashion, Harry Potter and precious stones.  I don't know much about the latter, but I intend to do some studying on the subject to learn more about the stones and rocks I've collected through the years.  I have always been drawn to stones and gems, even when I was younger and the interest hasn't really faded. In fact, it has gotten worse. I spent faaaaaar too much money on the two pieces I bought on this trip, the same with our previous trip back in January.  I need to be very careful whenever I enter the store.

Sweater: Forever 21, Top: Ralph Lauren (Roundabout Resale), Jeans: Current/Elliott (The Outnet), Sandals: b.o.c. (Marshalls), Bag: Wink and Winn (giveaway), Necklace: Geoclassics, Bracelet: Crystal Vibrations Jewelry (use code BBarrow1002 for 10% off), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports & Mom's

Below are some photos of what we (my sister, her boyfriend and I) bought and a behind the scenes shot of me taking the photos.   I bought the green malachite and the egg shaped septarian; cool, aren't they?! (The last photo also shows House of Harlow necklaces I won from South Moon Under.)
Last Thursday I was able to go to the grand opening of Marshalls' newest store in New York City, located at 2182 Broadway.  The store is three glorious floors. The first is dedicated to handbags, the next floor has accessories and bath/body products and the bottom floor is full of clothes (men, women, children) and shoes! Tons of shoes! You have to check it out if you are ever in the area.

I met up with Megan of TF Diaries and we shopped; both our eyes were drawn to a pair of gorgeous Cole Haan sandals for $49.99 (retail $248.) Sadly they didn't have my size so I'm going to have to scour all the Marshalls in my area to find them! I did walk away with a pair of Rag & Bone Chambray Cuffed Boyfriend Shorts for $49.99 (retail $154) and Mula sandals for $34.99 (retail around $56) thanks to a gift card from Marshalls.

Here's what I wore! Since it was rainy that day I decided to wait to take my outfit photos.

Blazer: Chanel (Roundabout Resale), Top c/o Oasis, Jeans: J Brand c/o Marshalls, Flats: Burberry Prorsum (net-a-porter end of season sale), Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop), Necklace: Geoclassics, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports & Mom's

After the opening I took a walk through Central Park and went to one of Roundabout's New York locations. I tried on a GORGEOUS Jason Wu dress I've wanted since 2011 (see the proof in this post) but left it behind because it was still too pricy. I'll probably regret it later though, it was still new with tags and 75% off retail. Finally I met up with Laura who I've been blog friends with for over 3 years. She was visiting from London so it was perfect timing! We bought macarons at Laduree and then sat down for some coffee and hot chocolate. It's so fun when you finally meet someone you've been talking to for years, isn't it?
