Last week I played hooky for the day and drove up to my friend's house in Massachusetts. From there we, along with a friend visiting from Australia, drove up to New Hampshire to visit the Ice Castles! I had never been so I was pretty excited. Unfortunately none of us were dressed warmly enough despite our layers. We stayed for 10 minutes before our toes started to freeze, ha ha! But it was so worth it even for that short amount of time. Who doesn't love an adventure?
P.S. I FINALLY found the brand that makes these boots my Grandmother gave me from YEARS ago. I linked a bunch below. Debating buying myself another pair for when these fall apart because I wear them so often in Winter.
Sweater: Inis Crafts (Marshalls), Jeans: Current/Elliott (The Outnet), Boots: Vintage Snowland Moccasin Ankle Boots (from Grandma), Scarf: Madewell Houndstooth Patchwork Scarf, Faux Fur Leopard Coat: Sisters - vest version (Marshalls), Bag: Etienne Aigner (thrifted)

I just realized something funny about this outfit as I was getting the photos ready. This zipped cardigan is Burberry and the fox sweater is by some brand I had never even heard of. In Fall 2012 Burberry did a collection where they had a really cute sketched fox sweater that I am STILL looking for on resale sites. I guess this fox sweater is my dress for less version.
Cardigan: Burberry Brit (net-a-porter sale), Fox Sweater: Vertical Design (Marshalls), Jeans: Current/Elliott (The Outnet), Boots: Chloe (Roundabout Resale), Sunglasses: Chanel

Three of the pieces in this outfit are old favorites. My first designer purchase, one of my first shoe splurges (that were actually a birthday gift) and my favorite jeans ever. Sadly I don't wear the Free People jeans often because they're super old and in that odd wrinkly stage that stretch jeans get to. You can probably tell in the photos in certain spots. I have 2 pairs of these because I kept buying searching for them on eBay and then one pair that's similar but not exactly the same.
The Marc Jacobs velvet polka dot blazer was my first designer purchase. I tried to find it for months after Emma Watson wore it (in a different color) in Teen Vogue. I bought it for $80 (and a second one for $20 8 years later because I needed to go up a size. I still have the original in my closet for nostalgic reasons.)
My Alexander Wang Freja boots were a birthday gift from my parents in 2011 - meaning I told my mom I wanted them and she said 'order them for your birthday!' I do love a good statement shoe that never goes out of style. There are a few of these available on eBay (originally from his Spring 2010 collection) and some other sources but you have to be careful when looking for these because AW also made a cheaper version for the H&M collection which won't be as nice/high quality as these. I linked to only the "real" ones below but you can search for AW x H&M boots and find the other version.
Blazer: Marc by Marc Jacobs polka dot velvet jacket (eBay, green one here), V-Neck Tee: Everlane, Jeans: Free People (Marshalls), Peep-Toe Boots: Alexander Wang suede Freja boot in brick red (The Outnet), Bag: Dark Purple Chloé Faye (eBay, exact bag here), Necklace: Marrin Costello
Speaking of favorites - I wore this outfit on Monday to check out the recently renovated Luna Pizza in West Hartford. Before I went my Aunt told me it's one of her and my Uncle's favorite places to go for pizza. After going myself I can see why! I'm not normally a thin crust fan, but their pizzas are delicious. I wanted to keep eating all night!
While there I sampled their meatballs, garlic knots a baby spinach salad with strawberries and three pizzas! All the appetizers were delicious, especially the salad. Lydia, Jen and I tried the BBQ Pulled Pork, White and Margherita pizzas. They were all super good. The white pizza is just mozzarella, romano, garlic, parsley, and olive oil and it was amazing. The BBQ pulled pork had the perfect amount of sweetness from the BBQ sauce and the Margherita pizza was loaded with fresh tomatoes. I finished my meal with a delectable chocolate torte. It was very smooth and really chocolatey, just how I like it! I will definitely return to Luna Pizza if I'm ever in the area again.

As is our tradition each year, we went to Jones Family Farms the day after Thanksgiving to pick out a Christmas Tree for my parents living room! This was Chrisitan's first year joining in on the tradition and since one of my brothers had to work he got the job of helping carry the tree to the bailer! What an honor, ha ha.
I wore my traditional Stella McCartney polar bear sweater for the occasion. I've worn it to get our tree pretty much every year since I bought it. I only missed once because I wanted to wear a fun new festive llama sweater. This year it was extra chilly so I layered another sweater underneath, added a vest and wore tights under my jeans.
I stole my sister's dog Teddy for my photos. Isn't he the cutest?
Vest: Ella Moss 'Nico Faux Fur Vest' (Marshalls - in black, also here), Polar Bear Sweater: Stella McCartney 'Polar bear intarsia wool and alpaca-blend sweater' (The Outnet), Jeans: J Brand Danica Moto Skinny with Ankle Zippers (Marshalls), Boots: Eighteen 68 'Megan' (Gilt Groupe), Sunglasses: Gucci, Eyeglasses chain: Tinksky (Amazon), Beanie c/o Ricefield Collective (out of business)
P.S. Someone stole one of my outfit pictures for their eBay listing for these jeans! haha!

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll have seen that I was in Montreal last week. My husband's cousin and his wife invited us to join them for a quick Fall trip. On one of the rainier days (we had multiple) we headed to the BioSphere, an interactive museum dedicated to the environment. I had really wanted to go to the Biodôme but it's closed through Summer 2019. Such a shame! The BioSphere was pretty cool, even though the rain made it hard to view one of the cooler parts of the museum. Christian absolutely loved it because he's a sucker for science and being environmentally friendly (we'll eventually get solar panels for our house.)
I had different shoes in mind for this outfit but the weather made me wear my trusty rain boots.
Sweater: Banjo + Matilda Trinket Embellished Stripe Sweater (The Outnet), Corduroys: Abercrombie & Fitch, Rain Boots: däv, Bag: Etienne Aigner (thrifted)
And a few photos of the BioSphere

Summer is coming to an end in a few weeks so I'm trying to soak up all the Summer I can before it does! That is, when the temperature decides to cooperate so I can be outside for more than 5 minutes without melting!
