This is the first "real" outfit I wore after getting home from London. All the others apart from this were rain boots + comfiest jeans + big sweaters. Haha! Here's one of the things I bought with Christmas money from my Grandma. A double v-neck cashmere sweater! It's actually a little big so I have to find a way to keep the shoulders from falling down. Tried to show the v in the back but my bag strap kind of messed it up, oh well! Work with what we've got!

Jacket: thrifted, Cashmere Sweater: Calypso St. Barth 'Gylden' (Gilt), High Waisted Jeans: J Brand 'Maria' (Gilt), Bag: Chanel 2.55 Double Flap (Madison Avenue Couture), Boots: Gianvito Rossi 'Finlay' (Marshalls), Necklace: Marrin Costello

I love this coat. There is just one problem, it's too small! I can't wear anything super thick under it and my arm movements are really restricted. The price we pay for cute, unpractical pieces! At least it was only $20, yay thrifting. Speaking of thrifting, I got these shoes the same day as the coat and paid $4. My family is headed out to get our Christmas Tree today, a yearly tradition that's been happening since I was young. Time to break out all the Christmas sweaters!!!

It's getting too dark too early! Getting outfit pictures is going to be harder and harder until we get to spring forward. My dad used to take my photos when I would go over for dinner, but I'm going to have to make him take pictures of all my outfits on the weekend instead. I've become too lazy to go back to using my tripod during the day. Plus, he's a (hobby) photographer so they always come out better. Funnily enough, my mom had to take these for me last week. Woohoo for helpful family members!

Faux Fur Vest: French Connection (Marshalls), Cashmere Sweater: Everlane, Jeans: Free People (eBay), Necklace: Geoclassics, Bag: Etienne Aigner (thrifted), Flats: Chanel (eBay)

I really need to get rid of this sweater but I can't bring myself to do it! The unique shape (half turtleneck, 3/4 sleeve and a little loose in the under-arm area) just makes it so fun. It's just REALLY itchy so I regret having it on after a couple hours...maybe I'll let it go after this Winter. I don't have the cute owl necklace anymore (it broke) so I substituted in R2D2! You can always use a little geek chic in your looks, right?

I almost feel bad for being excited for the New York trip I'm currently on. Every now and then I get waves of sadness remembering what happened early Wednesday morning.  I'm still reeling from the results of the election but am trying to make sense of it all. America as we know it will be different as of January 20th. It's changing already. Many of my friends fear for their safety because of the color of their skin, religious beliefs or who they love. It makes me incredibly sad and I can't really put it into words. So all I'll say for now is, we need to fight harder than ever for our rights and stay strong.

Sometimes you just want to throw on an outfit and go. This dress lets me do just that because of it's wild and crazy print! I did add a belt just so my waist had some definition but I could do without it too. Add on some simple slides and out the door I go!

Safari Print Dress: thrifted, Sandals: J. Crew Factory

Sometimes all it takes to make an outfit go from frumpy to cool is to tie it up. When I first had this outfit on, I didn't have the shirt tucked in so it looked a little wonky. I didn't want it tucked so I decided to tie it and show some skin. So scandalous!

Top: thrifted, Jeans: Current/Elliott, Sandals: Malu c/o Marshalls

This shirt may be one of my best thrifting buys from a couple years ago. I paid ONE DOLLAR for it and have worn it at least 10 times, which means it's cost per wear is 10 cents per wear at the most. Insanity!  And this Moschino jacket was one of my first few designer eBay finds in 2008 or 2009! Ahh, memories.

A nice, easy outfit for a day of lounging and baby holding a couple weekends ago. Is this outfit really blog-worthy? Probably not. Do I care? Nope! The purpose of this blog is to show you what I wear on a day to day basis, even if it's just a sweatshirt and jeans!

Update: Just realized it was the perfect day to post this outfit! Star Wars: The Force Awakens is available on Digital formats today! (DVD/BluRay on Tuesday)

Star Wars Top c/o Kohl's, Patchwork Jeans: Free People, Loafers: Etienne Aigner (thrifted)

Last weekend I visited one of my best friends in DC to see the sights and eat lots of food. Mostly to get the chicken & waffles at Founding Farmers; more on that tomorrow. On my first day (Saturday) I got a tour of some of the museums and visited the United States Capital building and Washington Monument. This was one of the colder days of the trip but it warmed up by the last two days!

This was my first time visiting DC so it was great to have a tour guide who knows where they're going. Got to see all the important stuff and also not look like a complete tourist. Unfortunately the building was getting a bit of a face-lift but it still made a good background for outfit photos!

Shearling Jacket: thrifted, Cashmere Turtleneck: Vince (Marshalls), Jeans: Frame 'Le Skinny de Jeanne' (Shopbop), Flats: Chanel (eBay), Bag: Emm Kuo (Roundabout Resale)

Sometimes when you get a new piece you want to wait for the perfect occasion to wear it, but sometimes that takes MONTHS. So rather than waiting forever to wear my new Saint Laurent patchwork blouse, I wore it last weekend to do some shopping with my parents. I look like a crazy hippie (compared to all the sweatpants and Uggs) in this outfit and I kind of love it. People in Home Goods probably thought I was insane, but I'd rather be overdressed than be in sweatpants. It was also FREEZING so my Dad and I shot these pictures super fast so I wouldn't turn into a popsicle without my jacket on.

Vintage Suede Jacket: William Barry - Brandon Colorado (Vintanthromodern), Patchwork Blouse: Saint Laurent (eBay), Flare Jeans: Free People (Marshalls), Boots: Tabitha Simmons (Roundabout Resale), Necklace: BubuRuby, Sunglasses: Chanel (bought in Greece)

And here's a weird video I did while shopping in Home Goods. So many mirrors!

It was a cold one last week, folks! I definitely needed these three layers last week and I wore leggings under my jeans too. All the pieces in this outfit are the exact ones I wore almost 3 years ago. It feels like just yesterday that I scored this amazing oversized blazer for $10. Gotta love moving sales!

Blazer: Vintage PBM Women's (Coco's), Sweater: Ami dans la Rue (Shopbop), Tee: DIY (inspired by Burberry Prorsum), Jeans: Free People (Gilt Groupe), Booties: no.704b. (DSW)
