Earlier this month I went shopping with my Mom. I was only intending on buying new dishes but ended up with a pair of shorts and a pair of pants as well. The dangers of Marshalls, ha ha! I had been wanting a couple new pairs of shorts to add to my Summer rotation and this pair by Splendid are perfect! They're a really soft linen blend and have the fun paper bag waist detail, just on a smaller scale.  They do wrinkle fast so I look a bit disheveled in the photos, but what can you do?

Floral Tee: Urban Outfitters, Short: Splendid Arabesque Cargo Short in Antique Military Olive (Marshalls), Sandals: Ancient Greek Sandals 'Athanasia'  in Croc (Moda Operandi), Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Natural Selection Mini Messenger Bag' (Saks Fifth Avenue), Sunglasses: Gucci, Necklace: BubuRuby

Alsooooo, for you ice cream lovers out there - I was introduced to a new brand this week, Art Cream Ice Cream! They sent me a couple of their ultra-premium ice creams - made with clean ingredients and certified organic milk and cream from a herd of cows in Wisconsin. The brand was founded in 2018 and they focus on happy cows, happy people, quality, community support and creating art!

The ice creams are produced in small batches in “normal" flavors like Chocolate and Cookies & Cream (their best-seller,) plus creative options like Saffron Honey Lemon and Cardamom; 9 tasty options as of right now.

What I love about this brand is the mix of art and flavor. Each flavor has a different container with a painting created specifically for that flavor profile. As a graphic designer I really appreciate this approach to packaging, it makes them so much more fun and unique!

My verdict: Both the Indonesian Vanilla Honey and Cookies & Cream were really good! I think the Vanilla was my favorite, super refreshing. I personally like a higher cookie concentration in cookies & cream but it was delicious as well.  The ice cream is also nice & smooth, no grainy texture that you sometimes get with store-bought.

Select stores in CT, MD, NJ, NY, VA and DC - soon MA & PA - carry the brand for $8.49 a pint. I’ll definitely be trying some of the other flavors this Summer!

P.S. My ice cream scoop is the Midnight Scoop. I got it through Kickstarter 4 years ago, it's amazing!

Wow, it's been a little over SEVEN YEARS since I wore this outfit. I still have the top half but the bottom half has long since gone. And good riddance! It's so loose and baggy. This updated version is far superior. It's amazing what happens when you have pieces that fit properly. Although I suppose non-skin tight jeans and baggy boots were in style.

Blazer: Jones New York, Tee: Urban Outfitters, Jeans: Everlane "The High-Rise Skinny Jean" in Mid-Blue, Over the Knee Suede Boots: Audrey Brooke 'Mirie' (DSW),

This was worn on a cooler day after a bit of a heatwave. It was still a bit muggy and gross but I did need the sweater inside because my mom had the AC on.  And yes, my hair is wet in these photos, because sometimes you just need to take photos with wet hair.

Jeans: Current/Elliott, Tee: Urban Outfitters, Sweater: Kohl's, Wedges: Burberry - similar pair (The Outnet)

The Original:
I almost got rid of this skirt in a closet purge last year. I still don't wear it much because the slit is a bit awkward but I do like wearing it from time to time.  Decided to pair it with an equally daring top and some high heeled sandals. This tee is one of my favorites, which is very strange because it shows so much skin. Normally I like to cover up, as I'm sure you all know by now.

We've finally made it. The last outfit of my vacation. So depressing! It's like having to come home all over again...

Apparently this is my Disney shirt since I wore it both times we went. Ha ha. This trip was just to Epcot, so we walked around the various countries and ate some food. Then hid inside a store while there was a huge thunderstorm.

Last week I was on vacation in Florida for Universal's Diagon Alley Media &VIP Preview (the new Harry Potter park expansion.) My friend and I arrived on Saturday and stayed with one of her friends from Saturday night - Tuesday morning, which was when the Potter events started.

Sunday we headed to Disney with another one of her friends and had a marvelous day!  It did rain in the evening but it didn't ruin our fun.  We went on so many rides, including the new Seven Dwarves one, which I really enjoyed!  It was SUPER hot though, we were melting!

This weekend I went to a surprise wedding shower for my cousin, so it was the perfect time to wear my new Carven Paris map print dress!  I went very matchy-matchy with the look and painted my nails red, wore a purple stoned necklace and my shoes also had a bit of the red in them.

Dress: Carven (Yoox), Sweater: Urban Outfitters, Sandals: Manolo Blahnik (Roundabout Resale), Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Saks Friends & Family Sale), Necklace: Acanthus Jewelry (giveaway), Bracelet: Crystal Vibrations Jewelry (use code BBarrow1002 for 10% off), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports & Mom's

This Saturday I had a last minute meetup with Lydia and Christine, which is always fun! Sadly it was a rainy day so I wasn't really in the mood to dress cute (Lydia was, she braved a skirt.) So here we have my rainy day outfit, which is basically my every day outfit, jeans + tee + sweater!

Song of the Day: After the Rain Has Fallen by Sting

Tee: Urban Outfitters (super old), Sweater: J.Crew (Roundabout Resale), Jeans: Current/Elliott (The Outnet), Necklaces c/o Anjolee and blue nile, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's

Two Saturday's ago I took a trek up to the southern part of Connecticut to see one of my favorite movies, The Princess Bride, at the drive-in!  I didn't want to go alone so I had Lydia come with me, and it just so happens that it is one of her favorite movies too!  I could watch it all day and not get bored with it and, like most other movies I love, I can say every piece of dialogue and even hum along with the soundtrack (sad, I know.)

Before the movie we stopped at a consignment store where I picked up a cute Calvin Klein overall dress, Apostrophe camisole & Etienne Aicner bag for $15.50! Talk about a good deal.  Then we headed to the drive-in to park our car and were lucky enough to get in the first row! Since we had a few hours to spare we went for a walk to get dinner and once we got back to the drive-in it was completely packed!

Song of the Day: Storybook Love by Mark Knopfler for The Princess Bride soundtrack

Top: Urban Outfitters, Jeans: Free People, Hoodie: Vertigo Paris (TJ Maxx, old), Flats: Marc by Marc Jacobs  (Shopbop), Sunglasses: Ray Ban 'Emma' (Marshalls), Necklace: Geoclassics, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage and Mom's

And some fun photos to show how close we were!

And here is one of my favorite parts of the movie, right at the end ;)
