Yesterday I posted about Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and what I wore. Today it's all about the birthday dinner we enjoyed before the party started! My friend Kristen and I make a point to go to Be Our Guest for lunch or breakfast any time we go to Disney. We have been wanting to go for dinner since it opened but it's pretty hard to get a reservation.
A couple months before our trip I was able to snag a reservation during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party since you need to have party tickets to make reservations then. But as we got closer to the trip I kept checking to see if any opened before the party because we didn't want to waste valuable trick-or-treat time with dinner. Luckily a couple days before we left someone cancelled a reservation earlier in the evening so we were able to swap our first one.
Over the Summer Disney World introduced an a la carte menu for dinner so you get an appetizer, entree and dessert all for one price. Everyone gets the same dessert - a lime and raspberry french macaron, white chocolate Chip cup filled with "The Grey Stuff" and a chocolate cherry truffle. For my appetizer and entree I chose Escargot and Poulet Rouge Chicken with Faro Wheat Risotto, Seasonal Vegetables, Crisp Pancetta, and Garlic Butter Sauce. Kristen opted for the Mixed Field Greens and Center-cut Filet Mignon.
I'm not a huge escargot fan, except for the garlic flavor and yummy breadcrumbs, but I wanted something different than a salad so I braved the texture of snail. The chicken and faro were very tasty, I would definitely have them again! I always enjoy The Grey Stuff so I'm glad it was included with dessert.
Kristen also surprised me with a Mickey Mouse Birthday Cake at the end of our meal! Sadly we couldn't finish it so we had to take it in a to-go container and we had a bit of a crushing/amusing incident and were left with a blob of cake. Don't worry I still ate some in our hotel later in the week. Our waitress even brought a card signed by Belle and The Beast, super cute!
After our meal we were able to take a photo with The Beast before heading out for the party! This is the only you are able to interact with The Beast in the parks. He can be see in parades and a Beauty and the Beast show at Hollywood Studios.
While the meal is not cheap ($60 for adults,) it's a really fun experience and I think if you're a Beauty and the Beast fan you should do it at least once. Now that I've done it I can go back to spending $9 on my Grilled Shrimp lunch from the Kids menu or French Toast at breakfast! And I'll always spend the $5 on The Master's Cupcake (which has The Grey Stuff on it.)

I went to Disney a week and a half ago to celebrate my 30th birthday and my friend Kristen and I went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It's an event held a few nights a week from August to October. You get to stay at the park late (the party is from 7pm - midnight and normal guests leave the park at 6) to go Trick-or-Treating, meet with characters for photos and some of the rides have added Halloween fun! There's also a special Hocus Pocus show, Boo To You Halloween Parade and Halloween aka HalloWishes fireworks!
The party was so much fun and totally worth the extra money for a ticket. We got TONS of candy to bring home and enjoy until Halloween. Even if you don't have a theme park ticket for the day, you are able to go in to the parks beginning at 4pm. So this is a cheaper option to get into the park and with less people during the party. But I will say getting into the park around this time will be a mad house of people. But once you're in it's a pleasant amount of people.
With just over a week left until Halloween there's not much time left to figure out your costume! Here's a super easy costume to put together with just a few items. For the party I decided to be one of my favorite characters - Sorcerer Mickey! My Sorcerer Mickey costume couldn't be easier. All I needed was a red dress, gold cord, tights and boots. You'll also want a blue witches hat to put stars, a moon and ears on. I got mine at Disney World ready made.
I wanted my dress to look like Sorcerer Mickey's cape so I found a dress with wider sleeves that fit the bill perfectly. It's on sale for under $10 right now, and I only paid $14, quite the steal! To replicate his pants I just wore blue tights and then my black boots because they are the most comfortable to walk around in. While searching for the boots for this post I FINALLY found my size on Poshmark so I had to buy them again because these are dying after being VERY loved for 4 years. They've been all over the world and walked hundreds (seriously, at least 100) of miles with me. I used ad money that was just added to my PayPal. So perfect!

This is my final look from our Rhode Island vacation over the 4th of July! Since we were at the beach I brought mostly blue pieces. This blue floral dress has always been one of my favorites. I remember I saw it at American Eagle and really wanted it so I saved up and then bought it when it went on sale. It's so funny to me that American Eagle used to be my splurge store. My how times have changed!

We were in Rhode Island for the 4th of July and instead of going to a crazy crowded beach we decided to visit a lighthouse by our beach house for a short while and then headed to The Umbrella Factory in Charleston, Rhode Island. The Umbrella Factory is a pretty unique place. It's like a mall because they have a bunch of different shops, but they also have a small eatery, sell Del's lemonade (YUM!) and have EMUS and chickens. Yes, Emus! While we were there one tried to steal my brother's lemonade because he got too close.
Originally I was going to wear this crop top with my Everlane high waisted jeans but the weather forecast for the week we were in Rhode Island was HOT so I opted for my white jeans instead. I don't wear them often because I'm a little weary of getting white dirty but I think they really make the top pop. Thank you weather for making me change my mind! I also normally wear this top with something high waisted since it's cropped and blowing wind can be quite revealing, but I like it with the lower rise as well.
