Another concert outfit today! I was on a roll last week. This is what I wore to go see Steely Dan with my parents, sister and some other relatives. We're SUPER cool, ha ha. (The title of the post is one of their songs.)  How convenient is it that the yarn details on this sweater match this top perfectly?! I was at a loss for what to wear on top of this tank until I remembered that. It might be a bit of a weird color combo, but I went with it!

Sweater: Marc Jacobs (Roundabout Resale), Top: Mexx (Coco's $10 sale), Jeans: Free People, Sandals: Sam Edelman c/o ThredUp, Watch c/o Movado

Here's what I wore to go see The Eagles at Madison Square Garden 2 weekends ago!  They are one of my favorite bands so I was super excited to see them! I've only ever been to 5 concerts in my life, 4 have been this year, ha ha.  And, by reading the list I'm not sure you could correctly guess my age.  What would you guess someone's age is if they have seen Billy Joel, The Eagles, Steely Dan, The Beach Boys and John Mayer in concert? Definitely not 25, right?

This outfit also sees the return of my beloved Free People skinny jeans. For over a year you heard my whine about trying to find a replacement for them. I have tried many pairs that I have loved, but none have ever been "the same." Luckily I found the exact model on eBay. They're lightly used, but that's better than my overly used pair.

Top: Philosophy (Marshalls), Jeans: Free People (eBay), Sandals: Isola c/o Marshalls,  Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Saks Friends & Family Sale), Watch c/o Movado

I have received compensation for this post, but all opinions are my own.

Let's do something a little different today: Everyone loves music, right? And a lot of people use musicians as the inspiration for their outfits. My friends know that I am not a new/popular music kind of girl. I prefer Classic Rock and the oldies when I want to get my spirits up. I turn to bands like The Eagles, Beatles, James Taylor or Billy Joel and if I'm in the mood for "new" music, John Mayer (and more recently Manifesto - a British band that I was introduced to via a Harry Potter actor who is in the band.) To switch things up, I decided to create a look inspired by The Police!

The Police were one of the most popular groups in the 70s and 80s and their songs are still played on most radio stations. You would likely find at least one of them in a leather jacket or a blazer, and they loved their jeans! As for shoes, they were fans of boots and sneakers. A pretty easy look to recreate because it has a certain ease about it. (Don't worry, we won't go totally 80's with over-sized blazers as they did.)  I created a look with items from BooHoo.com!

Leather Jacket, White Tank Top, Skinny Jeans, Chelsea Boot, Pearl & Chain Necklace, and Round Frame Sunglasses

Some more inspiration images for you to enjoy (and giggle at)

Okay, so these tights aren't rose, they're maroon, but the outfit made me think of that James Taylor song (listen above). Anyone else love James Taylor?! I like such random music, I hardly like any of the new artists out there. Give me The Beatles, The Eagles, James Taylor, Billy Joel, Kenny Loggins or classic Disney movie soundtracks (HP, LotR & Narnia soundtracks too) any day!

Now on to the outfit.  This is my 4th time wearing my Valentino jacket from The Outnet's $2 birthday sale. So that's 50 cents per wear, totally worth it! It is a bit dressy to wear often but I do want to make sure I keep wearing it every once in a while.  This time I paired it with one of the Marc by Marc Jacobs dresses I got on eBay (Anne Hathaway has it in blue ;) ) The weather this day (Wednesday) was SO perfect, it was warm, but not hot and the sun was wonderful. And I got to enjoy the amazing smell of Fall, its so crisp, I could breathe it in all day.

Decided to do another non-fashion post today, ha ha.  It's finally time for me to listen to Christmas music all day so I figured I'd share my favorite Christmas CDs with you guys, I've been listening to most of these since I was born thanks to my parents. Sorry if you don't celebrate Christmas and these posts are annoying you...I promise I won't be totally Christmas crazy on here, but I'm doing a movie post too ;)  Anyway, click the photos below to listen to samples or buy the CDS!

The Carpenter's Christmas Portrait is my all time favorite Christmas CD.
 Christmas Portrait
Oddly enough this is the one time of year I don't mind Country music, sort of.  Dolly Parton and Kenny Roger's 'Once Upon A Christmas' CD is one of my favorites and normally I wouldn't listen to them.
Once Upon a Christmas
Here's a favorite from my teen years when everyone was obsessed with boy bands.  N-Sync's 'Home for Christmas' is quite good even if you don't like them.  My mom even tolerates it sometimes.
Home for Christmas
Amy Grant is another artist I don't normally listen to, but her Christmas CDs are amazing!  Definitely must listens:

Other Christmas CDs I enjoy:

and lots more...but I won't bore you with them all.
