Here is edition number 2 for my Holiday Gifts for Fashionistas Guide! This post will look at movies related to the fashion industry, you can read the post on fashion books here! I've seen all of these and they are great (except Lagerfeld Confidential, it's on my 'need to see asap' list). I know I've forgotten some so: What movies would you recommend? I'll add them to the bottom of the post as people mention them!
Movies About Designers/Documentaries:

Related to Fashion:

Movies with Great Costume Design:

Bonus: TV SHOWS!
The Nanny This series is full of some seriously crazy fashion, so how could I not include it?! LOVE this show :D

Sex and City I've never watched this series (shame on me), but its full of fashion so I had to include it as well

Gossip Girl - Another series with gorgeous clothes, I don't watch this either though because the plot annoys me

Reader Suggestions:

P.S. Here is that videos I mentioned yesterday of me doing gymnastics, this was 2006, sorry about the sound, I taped them off my tv, haha. (I didn't get hurt in that last one, but its the only good video I have of that vault, I was the only one in the history of my school to do it...haha, of course I didn't usually fall)

This week was COLD!! So that means winter is finally here!! YAYYYY! Now we just need some snow, and definitely a White Christmas *crosses fingers* (Sorry for the horrible photos this week but I was rushing since I had to turn my car on early to let it warm up, haha...I need to start waking up earlier. Tuesday's face was horrible but it was the best shot I had...haha)
I also went a little crazy and tried to some gymnastics poses, sadly I never had the camera at the right position...haha...I'll try again soon though ;) And in case you were wondering, I did gymnastics for 13 years, there's a video on the blog somewhere...haha...I'll have to post it again soon so you can see me in my prime ;)

Before I get to the rest of this post I wanted to share this first, net-a-porter has sent over this awesome video showing a few great gift ideas from their Gift Finder feature. With the Gift Finder you can find tons of great gift ideas for fashionable friends in your life! (I wouldn't mind getting The Ultimate Shoe Subscription ;) )

Every fashionista loves a classic item that she can wear forever, so this post is dedicated to those items. The Burberry Trench, Little Black Dress, White Shirt, Black Christian Louboutin pumps and the Chanel 2.55! Everything but the Chanel 2.55 links to where you can buy the product. Since these are classics they are all going to be very expensive, but when you factor in the cost/wear ratio its worth it.
(for those of you that don't know that ratio it's something I live by when I shop. If you pay $30 for something and wear it 30 times it was only $1 per wear, which is a great deal. So if I wear an item once for every dollar then it was worth it)

I am a huge fan of Emily Blunt, but sadly I have only seen her in a few movies , I need to see the rest, ha ha. Anywayyyy, she's on the cover of Harpers Bazaar UK in January and I am in LOVE with the spread. She always looks so gorgeous. (click to see them larger)

I recently had the opportunity to talk to one of the founders of a great site called Runway Rundown that I have been following for quite some time. They post runway looks and show you how to get those looks a lot cheaper. Some of the designers they have used for inspiration include Balmain, Jill Stuart, Alexander McQueen, Alberta Ferrertti, Marchesa, Chanel, Marc Jacobs and so many more. They are DEFINITELY worth the visit, so make sure to check the site out.
Here is my interview with Kim, the Co-Founder, since it is so long I had to put some under the cut, so click read more to finish reading!:
Why did you decide to start Runway Rundown? I was frequently asked by friends and strangers where my outfit was from. After explaining where I put the outfit together and from what inspiration they were usually floored. I figured I had something that I could turn into a service and at the same time really enjoy what I was doing.
What are your long term goals for the site? I would love to see us flip the switch on the fashion blogging world and start a new craze appealing to editorial outlets. I think Runway Rundown has the potential to be an extension of an online editorial (ELLE, Teen Vogue, Etc) as a subscription or weekly column. But aside from that I would love to see Runway Rundown grow into the mens category and even possibly home goods.
Why should people check out the site? Because like I found myself many a time, I didn't have time to page through magazines and check online stores for new and sale priced inventory. I am doing the research for you. You should come to the site knowing that we will have something to offer anyone even if you don't know what you are looking for.
What is your favorite new trend for this season? From Sheer Maxi Dresses, to Eclectic Prints, to Wide Leg/Highwaisted 70's Trousers, to Bright Bold Colors, there are so many exciting trends for Spring 2011. If I had to choose one I would say you will see a bit of Asian influence this season in the material coloration and the silhouettes of the collections. Carolina Herrera, for example, sent the most amazing collection down the runway inspired by the traditional dress in Korea. There is a lot of obi style draping, botanical hand paintings and structured pencil skirts.
