Oh! Almost forgot...last week I won $100 to ShopBop from Mode Junkie and with it I got some Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses! WOOT!  And I have $15 leftover.  Also I won SHE's e.l.f. giveaway (actually...I was the second winner since the first never replied).  So thanks to both of them! :D
(the thing underneath  the sunglasses is a hint at what is coming up in my next post)
One of my favorite shows in the Spring 2011 collections was Theyskens' Theory, you can see my favorite looks from the collection in this post.  Net-a-Porter has sent over an awesome interview with creator Olivier Theyskens.

The collection is also available for purchase over at Net-a-Porter, view all the pieces that you can buy here.  And here are some of the pieces I would love to own:

This shoot from Marie Claire Italy's February 2011 issue is so much fun! I love the clothes and the photography is great.  The lighting has a wonderful effect on the photos. I'm not much of a fan of the hair though...and some of the models expressions are a bit odd, but I can overlook that for the overall feel of the shoot.  Click to see the photos larger in a lightbox (I feel dumb saying this every post, but some readers are new)

Look up *points to address bar*, you can now access the blog through www.closet-fashionista.com! YAYY! I've been wanting to get a domain for months and finally broke down and did it :p (aclosetfashionista.blogspot.com will just forward to this now).  I also bought some business cards (500 for $12) I only got single sided though because double sided would have been $24 and I'm cheap ;) Maybe if these come out good I'll splurge and get double sided next.  I used OvernightPrints and the code '9WANR6FL' to get 500 free single sided cards and only had to pay for shipping. I'll let you know how they come out when I get them!

And an update on Chanel Riva:  It chipped a little bit on Monday night on my thumb (but that always happens) but after that it was fine and that was the only chipping there was.  So it has lasted as long as my usual nail polishes.
Sunday: Top: Urban Outfitters $8, Sweater: Kohl's gift, Jeans: American Eagle: $0, Flats: Kelly & Katie $14, Bag:  Marc by Marc Jacobs: $0

Monday: Dress: Marc by Marc Jacobs (eBay) $27, Sweater: Urban Outfitters $0, Heels: Target $20
Tuesday: Sweater: Tahari $20, Jeans: Sass & Bide (eBay), $30, Boots: Vintage (eBay) $12
Wednesday: Bell Bottoms: Mudd $?, Sweater: American Eagle gift, Boots: Croft & Barrow $12
Thursday: Skirt: Old Navy, Top/Dress: GoodWill $3, Sweater: American Eagle $?,  Booties: No.704b. $20
Friday: Dress: Marc by Marc Jacobs $36, Sweater: Kohl's gift, Flats: H&M $13
Tuesday night I was trying to decide what to wear on Wednesday...I wanted to switch things up and try something crazy with prints but nothing was working (I need more tops...I only have like 4)...so I decided to be totally insane and wear my bell bottoms that I got in like 8th grade (yes...they still fit...they were really long then and now are finally the right length).
I recently noticed that most of my Dress for Lesses are full of dark and rich colors and not many brights. So I decided to break that and do a bright wintery look!  I also tried to use more separates than usual since I always seem to use dresses. I was going to do colored tights, but that seemed a bit too crazy, so I kept the legs black... What do you think of this crazy, colorful concoction?
Top - ASOS $26.90
Skirt - ASOS $21.52
Heels - Forever 21 $22.80
Wallet - Forever 21 $7.80
Tights - ASOS $14.34
Necklace - Forever 21 $9.80
TOTAL: $103.16
You guys are probably getting bored of all these pre-fall posts, but I can't help it, this is the last one for now...  The Versace Pre-Fall collection is another very bold collection, but it is also very wearable (for the most part).

I have a confession to make...I hardly own any of the basic items that most girls are supposed to own, its not that I haven't tried, I just can never find the perfect ones for me. I also never want to spend a lot of money on a basic item when I can buy a fun printed piece for less...but I will get some soon! In Net-a-Porter's latest magazine issue they highlight their 10 Essentials for a wardrobe. Those 10 items are: The shirt, the knit, the jean, the leather jacket, the classic bag, the flat, the blazer, the trench, the jersey basic, and the underpinning. [Have you noticed that I am VERY obsessed with net-a-porter?...I can't help it, ha ha]

Fortunately, Net-A-Porter has reopened their Essentials Boutique where you can find tons of great options to get your perfect 10 items! Unfortunately, Net-a-Porter is too expensive for me (usually), but that doesn't stop me from at least looking for some inspiration in the items they show! Whats great about most of these pieces is that you can pair them with trendier items for a great look! (click the images to go to the product page)

Of course this is the more expensive side of things, you can certainly find similar pieces for a lot less at stores like ASOS, H&M, American Eagle and more ! Which is where I will get mine until I have more money to invest in designer pieces, but I strive to own these since they will last much longer.
