I really love the whole feel of this shoot, the sixties vibe is so much fun. It makes me wish I was born in the 60s, how about you? ;) The bright colors of the pieces are so fun and I love the mix of denim added in. I would kill for that green polka dot dress! :D

Last week I was bad again. First, on Wednesday night I was checking out ASOS for High Tea dresses. I narrowed down from about 15 that were under $200 to 2. I decided to order both of them and return one or both depending on how they looked and if I found something better/cheaper. I also found an AMAZING sweater by A|Wear and bought it even though it was $45. That was a HUGE splurge for me, especially considering I get most of my pieces for $30 or under...but I think it will be a great piece for summer so it's okay. So here are my new pieces, I can't wait for them to arrive (click to go to the product pages):
Also, I've been lusting over the Zara leopard skirt (and dress) for MONTHS and I found a seller on eBay who had them for $30! Jamie-Lee reminded me how much I wanted it when she wore it in a recent outfit post, so I quickly checked eBay and it was there!
FINALLY I went to TJ Maxx on Saturday to do some more High Tea searching, I also wanted to find some tops and bottoms since they are sorely lacking in my wardrobe and I can't wear dresses all summer (well I could, but I should mix it up). I didn't find any dresses but there were a bunch of nice tops and I walked out with 3. I almost bought a green lace maxi skirt but it wouldn't have gone with anything in my closet. I may just go to the fabric store and make my own...would be cheaper. Anyway, here are the 3 tops I got, they came to about $38.
So there you have it...we're only a week into the month and three quarters my budget is gone on 5 items. The dresses don't count because I budgeted myself $200 for my High Tea dress/outfit in my London spending. :) But just watch, I'll end up wearing a dress I already have to High Tea because nothing else will be good enough. *sigh* (but at least that means I'll be returning stuff)
I'm also thinking of returning that Proenza Schouler for Target dress I got but I can't decide...GRR! Getting $40 back would be nice, but I do love the dress...

Today is two major holiday's for my family. First, of course, is Mother's Day. We're going to my Aunt's house for a brunch to celebrate all the lovely mommys.
I'm not going to go into mushy stuff; 1. because I don't like being mushy and 2. you guys don't want to hear about all the stuff my mom does for me ;) So I'll just say: Love you mom and thanks for everything!
Second, it is my brother's 20th birthday! He is making me feel so old (as is my other brother who will be 15 in June...). So Happy Birthday Jake!!!! :D

It is slowly starting to get a bit warmer, but as you can see I am still in tights when I wear dresses. I take a while to transition out of them because I always think I'm going to be cold. Please excuse my horrible outfit on Friday...I was way too lazy to pick out something better. I almost didn't photograph it, but since I remembered I figured I may as well ;)
Sadly nothing exciting has happened in my life this week, which is pretty normal for me. I live a pretty boring life that only consists of sleep, work, tv, fashion blog stuff and Harry Potter website stuff. Did you guys do anything interesting?
It looks like I channeled Kate Middleton with my outfit on Monday too, ha ha. [see hers here]

In exactly 2 months I will be having High Tea at the Ritz in London and I STILL haven't found my perfect outfit. Since I was getting frustrated I decided to find my dream look no matter what the price and then try to find something similar that's actually in my budget. Hopefully I'll go out this weekend and search for my perfect dress and then use stuff in my closet to finish the look. :)
I wanted to keep the look classy but still me and fun! And I also threw in a hat/hair accessory because you have to when you go to High Tea, right? ;) I couldn't find a good clutch, but I'm not even sure I'll carry one yet. Would this be an appropriate look? (I'm still not totally sure of what is proper and improper for high tea...XD)
Dress: Marc Jacobs
Blazer: Dion Lee
Headband: Louis Mariette
Pumps: Miu Miu
There were 5 dresses that I really liked so in the end I picked one randomly...here are the runner ups. Click the photos to go to the product pages.
P.S. I find it amusing that on the 4th of July, aka Independence Day, I will be doing something soooo British. I guess I should be British instead of American ;)

Hey girlies! I have a favor to ask of you all today. As some of you may know my mom is a great sewer, she used to make tons of my clothes when I was little, she alters some of the clothes I get if they don't fit and she also makes TONS of quilts. Recently she has been getting into making bags, she started out making quilted bags as gifts and last month she made a bag out of felt.
What I want to know is, would you guys buy this if I set up a shop for her on etsy? If so, how much would you be willing to pay for it? She would even be able to do custom bags if there was enough demand. It is made of felt, with some beads and felt flowers hand sewn on. It is also fully lined with 3 inner pockets so you can fit tons of your bag essentials inside. It has wooden handles with a snap closure. Click the photos to see the images larger.
My mom was a bit nervous about me posting this, but I think that its great and people would be interested in buying them, as well as other things she has sewn. So yea...haha...what do you think?!

UGH! Another VERY bad month, shame on me!! I did stay under budget, but just barely, I promise I'll be better next month... I didn't count my NYC trip at the beginning of the month because it was a business trip for my Potter site, and all I bought was food, which is a necessity when you're away from home.
You guys always think I do so well with my monthly budget but in truth is is SO HARD! I am such a huge shopaholic, if I go shopping when I'm in the right mood bad things can happen, as seen on April 9th. I truly have a shopping problem, it is like in Confessions of a Shopaholic, except I do have more control and don't have any debt (I have plenty of money saved, but I need to start saving more if I want a house of my own soon), but the same things go through my head. So it could get to that point if I let it, which I won't. I am determined to keep my spending low and stay within my budget.
I did make $45 babysitting that I took off of my ending total, so that helped me go back under budget. And also, Warner Bros. kindly sent me a free copy of the Deathly Hallows BluRay so I returned that one with my receipt from Target meaning that's $24 more taken off! YAY!
SPENT: $164
LEFT: $36
Also, I added another amendment to the contract which is as follows:

As of May 2011 the spending limit has decreased to $150 and my budget is only for clothes. Based on my spending I feel that this is a much better way to control myself because my problem with shopping is clothes. I don't buy much else and when I do buy things that aren't clothes its very infrequent and something I need. So when I do need to buy other things I don't want that to hinder my clothing budget. But I did feel like I needed to lower the budget since it is only for clothes.
