Two outfit posts in a row! I'm on a roll...and guess what, you may even get one tomorrow too! I have had this Marc by Marc Jacobs jacket since Christmas Eve of 2006. I had been obsessed with it ever since I saw it on Emma Watson in 2005 [here] and I searched for it every day and finally found it on eBay and it arrived just in time to wear it for Christmas [pic from btb...before the blog.] This was a major splurge, I think I paid $80 for it...sheesh! That was a LOT for me back then (now too usually...) Sadly my chest has grown a bit in the 5 years since I've had it so I have been searching for it in a bigger size because I love it so much. But for now I just don't button it.
You guys are probably getting sick of seeing my purse every day, but get used to it ;) I need to use it every day for at least a year to make up for the cost (cost/wear ratio ;) ) I do sometimes break out my mini MJ purse, but only on the weekends if I go somewhere, its too small to use for work. As you may have guessed I'm more of a shoe girl than a bag girl, I can live with 2/3 bags, but need TONS of shoes. Are you a shoe girl or a bag lady?
Jacket: Marc by Marc Jacobs (eBay), Jeans: Free People (Marshalls) $30, Wedges: Crown Vintage (DSW) $35, Watch: Michael Kors, Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs via Shopbop gift card
[excuse the two shots with my tummy showing, I wanted to show the top of the jeans, ha ha]

Yesterday was my first day having to take photos in the morning before work because of Daylight Savings. I took advantage of the clocks falling back and decided to start getting up at 7am instead of 7:30 so I could take photos and still have time to comment on blogs and have breakfast before leaving for work at 8:20...phew! It actually wasn't too horrible so I think I'll be able to do it, until it gets freezing cold in the winter ;) The only problem is my roommate's car is still in the driveway so my space for photo taking is limited...oh wells! We shall survive!
Moving on to more important things...my outfit! I'm wearing my awesome Alexander Wang Freja booties from The Outnet. This time I decided to go wild and wore them with my new H&M suede-like leggings that I HAD to buy after seeing them on Lindsey of Saucy Glossie. Then I paired that with my awesome purple top and a comfy sweater. I wanted to go out just like that, but it was a bit inappropriate for work so I threw on a jean skirt (still not entirely appropriate, but they know I'm crazy)
Sweater: Hollister $15, Top: Express $35, Skirt: Mudd (REALLY old), Leggings: H&M $15, Booties: Alexander Wang via The Outnet birthday gift, Watch: Michael Kors, Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs via Shopbop gift card
Here is how I wanted to wear it:
And now I will proceed to sing Blue Suede Shoes, which, if you didn't guess, was what inspired my post title.

This set of collections is all about romantic looks. The Alexander McQueen collection was more of a dark romantic theme. With this collection Sarah Burton really went back to Lee's old theatric ways with the crazy masks on the girls. It was a nice touch even if no one will wear the looks that way. I could definitely see a bunch of these gorgeous gowns on movie red carpets this coming year.
The Valentino collection was beautiful as always and I love the hair. The lace, sheerness and textures are so gorgeous. I am normally not a real girly girl but these dresses are so pretty, I would kill to own any of them, if only I had an occasion to wear one... ;) I really like how they paired the dresses with flat sandals, it's a great contrast and really makes you focus more on the dresses.

Here's my outfit from Monday! I really love how fun these ASOS pants are, they're just so bright and different from anything else I have. For this first time wearing them I paired them with a cashmere turtleneck sweater and Missoni for Target flats. Next time I'm going to style them a bit crazier, I hope...but this time I wanted to keep things simple. I don't think a week goes by now where I don't wear purple (not counting my purse since I use the same one every day) It's a sickness, but I don't plan on stopping any time soon ;)

This was a very interesting week, I was barely home (well, my new home). Monday night I went to my parents house because my Aunt and Uncle were staying over because they lost power in the snow storm (they still don't have it). Then I went to my place and watched Casper and Hocus Pocus with my roommate since it was Halloween. Tuesday I went home again after work and my aunt said she and my cousin were going to go to NYC for the day on Wednesday. I was feeling very spur of the moment so I asked my boss if I could take an unplanned day off and, because he is so awesome, he said yes! But I am in the negative for vacation days now...so no more random days off! (except maybe a couple days before Christmas when my cousins from Ohio visit.) So I stayed home Tuesday and Wednesday night and then it was back to business as usual Thursday morning, ha ha. That is a crazy week for me so I need to relax this weekend. (though one of my guy friends will be about an hour away from me on the weekend instead of a couple hours, so I may see him if he asks ;) which I doubt)
I was VERY blabby today, oops! You guys probably don't really care to know what I do with my boring life outside of fashion, but I like sharing with you anyway. Here's what I wore this week! My favorite is Monday, it actually came out way nicer than I was picturing it in my head, LOVE when that happens! (I'll have to wear it again and take better outfit pictures...perhaps if I get bored this weekend ;) )

[See what I did with my title? I changed the title of Night at the Museum...I'm soooooo funny, ha ha]
Yesterday I took an unplanned day off work to go to New York City with my aunt, cousin and little (15 year old...TALL) brother. They lost power so they stayed at my parent's house for a few days. We intended to go to the Natural History Museum and the Central Park Zoo but we only had time for the museum. We walked all the way from Grand Central and it took an two and a half hours...we did stop for lunch though.
For those of you that have seen Night at the Museum, the actual museum is nothing like it, they made it much smaller in the movie. They do have many of the same exhibits though, but I sadly couldn't find Attila the Hun, one of my favorite characters in the movie. Enough blabbing, here are a few photos from the day! I even made sure to take some fashion related photos!

I'm off on a spur of the moment trip to NYC today! My boss was nice enough to let me take a day off even though it was last minute. I'm going with my aunt, cousin and little brother and we're going to the Museum of Natural History and perhaps the Central Park Zoo. I'm going to try to be a good blogger and take lots of photos!
Today I'm posting Spring 2012 collections with neutral color palettes. Starting off we have the wonderful Donna Karan, I usually prefer her DKNY collections but this season I totally fell in love with her namesake collection. I am so obsessed with prints lately and this collection was full of great new prints. It also showed tons of color-blocking which is a trend I really enjoy, I need to do it more often with my looks.
Here we have Michael Kors, another favorite of mine. This collection was total safari chic! I LOVE the prints, colors, textures, cool sandals and pretty much everything about it. I really want the bathing suit on the top right, the shape and print are great; I'm on the hunt for the perfect one piece since I don't really like bikinis but I can never find a good one, so I'm stuck with bikinis for now ;)
And, of course, we can't forget my favorite designer Marc Jacobs! This collection was so pretty but sadly way too dressy for my lifestyle. The following three looks are my favorites, especially the first dress. I would LOVE to have an occasion to wear it.

First of all, if you haven't seen The Ugly Dachshund, shame on you! Second, if so, check out this post where I talk a little about it. Moving on, Fran Garrison, played by Suzanne Pleshette, has wonderful style in this movie.Yesterday, when I was checking out Net-a-Porter's What's New section, this dress SCREAMED Fran, so I had to do an outfit recreation for us all to enjoy!
This is such a classic look that has spanned the tests of time and is still perfectly in style. A gorgeous LBD, black pumps and simple jewelry in the form of pearl earrings. This outfit is very expensive, but you can definitely find cheaper pieces, perhaps I'll do that later this week if I can't take outfit pictures...
Dress: RED Valentino $1150
Pumps: Jimmy Choo $495
Pearl Earrings: Kate Spade New York $45
[the dress link is being a little wonky, ii'll try to fix it later]
