This outfit is from a few weeks ago, I just never got a chance to post the photos. It was a very rainy and gross day so I decided to go for warm comfort with this Ralph Lauren sweater I got at GoodWill last year for $8. I've worn it a lot more than I originally thought I would, it is one of my weekend staples when I want to be warm and comfy.
Sweater: Ralph Lauren (Goodwill) $8, Top: Express $34, Pants: Michael Kors (Marshalls) $40, Flats: Liz Claiborne (DSW) gift, Ring: Forever 21 $5, Watch: Michael Kors, Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Here is a miscellaneous group of Spring 2012 looks. These were all quite unique and didn't really go together with other collections. First up is DKNY. My favorite looks in this collection were, of course, the purple ones. They are such a nice texture and I love the cuts of the pieces. Then I also love the really flowy dresses, so pretty!
Next up we have Sass & Bide, this collection was so coocoo, but I loved it! Sass & Bide always has such unique looks that you won't find anywhere else. The mix of textures, colors and prints in this collection is so much fun!
Finally we have the always lovely Carven. I love that this collection is a mix of menswear and pretty skirts! It is definitely full of pieces I can see myself wearing to work. I love the different textures and the muted color palette.

Okay, so these tights aren't rose, they're maroon, but the outfit made me think of that James Taylor song (listen above). Anyone else love James Taylor?! I like such random music, I hardly like any of the new artists out there. Give me The Beatles, The Eagles, James Taylor, Billy Joel, Kenny Loggins or classic Disney movie soundtracks (HP, LotR & Narnia soundtracks too) any day!
Now on to the outfit. This is my 4th time wearing my Valentino jacket from The Outnet's $2 birthday sale. So that's 50 cents per wear, totally worth it! It is a bit dressy to wear often but I do want to make sure I keep wearing it every once in a while. This time I paired it with one of the Marc by Marc Jacobs dresses I got on eBay (Anne Hathaway has it in blue ;) ) The weather this day (Wednesday) was SO perfect, it was warm, but not hot and the sun was wonderful. And I got to enjoy the amazing smell of Fall, its so crisp, I could breathe it in all day.

The weather this week was AWESOME! Nice and warm-ish (high 50s), sun, and that lovely crisp fall smell. The only thing I don't like is that it is SO dark when I'm driving home from work at 5. It makes me get tired so early...not fun! Today The Outnet is starting their US Clearance sale; over 1500 items are up to 85% off! YES!! A perfect time to use the $100 gift card I won last week as the October ShoeFriday Winner! If you don't know, every Friday The Outnet asks for their Twitter followers to send in a photo of their shoes, then at the end of the month they pick a winner! I won with my Alexander Wang booties! [Update: You do NOT need to send shoes from The Outnet, mine just happened to be from there, they can be from any store]
In other news, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II comes out on DVD/BluRay today! I'm stopping at Target after work to pick it up! EEEP! I'll probably watch it a million times this week, ha ha, and cry every time. I will also be making my family watch it, my parents always watch the movies at least once when I get the DVD to humor me in my obsession. There's an event going on at the HP theme park in Florida this weekend to celebrate the release, sadly I'm not going...depressing since a ton of the cast member will be there.

Who doesn't love a bit of Western flair in their outfits? A great way to do that is with ShopNBC's American West Handbag collection. They have a gorgeous collection of western inspired bags ranging from clutches to totes and backpacks. The bags have such detail and come in various materials (fur, leather and various hardware), colors and prints so there is something for everyone! Some of the bags may be seen below.

And just for kicks, here is an outfit featuring one of the bags!

I partnered with ShopNBC for this post.

Two outfit posts in a row! I'm on a roll...and guess what, you may even get one tomorrow too! I have had this Marc by Marc Jacobs jacket since Christmas Eve of 2006. I had been obsessed with it ever since I saw it on Emma Watson in 2005 [here] and I searched for it every day and finally found it on eBay and it arrived just in time to wear it for Christmas [pic from btb...before the blog.] This was a major splurge, I think I paid $80 for it...sheesh! That was a LOT for me back then (now too usually...) Sadly my chest has grown a bit in the 5 years since I've had it so I have been searching for it in a bigger size because I love it so much. But for now I just don't button it.
You guys are probably getting sick of seeing my purse every day, but get used to it ;) I need to use it every day for at least a year to make up for the cost (cost/wear ratio ;) ) I do sometimes break out my mini MJ purse, but only on the weekends if I go somewhere, its too small to use for work. As you may have guessed I'm more of a shoe girl than a bag girl, I can live with 2/3 bags, but need TONS of shoes. Are you a shoe girl or a bag lady?
Jacket: Marc by Marc Jacobs (eBay), Jeans: Free People (Marshalls) $30, Wedges: Crown Vintage (DSW) $35, Watch: Michael Kors, Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs via Shopbop gift card
[excuse the two shots with my tummy showing, I wanted to show the top of the jeans, ha ha]

Yesterday was my first day having to take photos in the morning before work because of Daylight Savings. I took advantage of the clocks falling back and decided to start getting up at 7am instead of 7:30 so I could take photos and still have time to comment on blogs and have breakfast before leaving for work at 8:20...phew! It actually wasn't too horrible so I think I'll be able to do it, until it gets freezing cold in the winter ;) The only problem is my roommate's car is still in the driveway so my space for photo taking is limited...oh wells! We shall survive!
Moving on to more important things...my outfit! I'm wearing my awesome Alexander Wang Freja booties from The Outnet. This time I decided to go wild and wore them with my new H&M suede-like leggings that I HAD to buy after seeing them on Lindsey of Saucy Glossie. Then I paired that with my awesome purple top and a comfy sweater. I wanted to go out just like that, but it was a bit inappropriate for work so I threw on a jean skirt (still not entirely appropriate, but they know I'm crazy)

And now I will proceed to sing Blue Suede Shoes, which, if you didn't guess, was what inspired my post title.

This set of collections is all about romantic looks. The Alexander McQueen collection was more of a dark romantic theme. With this collection Sarah Burton really went back to Lee's old theatric ways with the crazy masks on the girls. It was a nice touch even if no one will wear the looks that way. I could definitely see a bunch of these gorgeous gowns on movie red carpets this coming year.
The Valentino collection was beautiful as always and I love the hair. The lace, sheerness and textures are so gorgeous. I am normally not a real girly girl but these dresses are so pretty, I would kill to own any of them, if only I had an occasion to wear one... ;) I really like how they paired the dresses with flat sandals, it's a great contrast and really makes you focus more on the dresses.

Here's my outfit from Monday! I really love how fun these ASOS pants are, they're just so bright and different from anything else I have. For this first time wearing them I paired them with a cashmere turtleneck sweater and Missoni for Target flats. Next time I'm going to style them a bit crazier, I hope...but this time I wanted to keep things simple. I don't think a week goes by now where I don't wear purple (not counting my purse since I use the same one every day) It's a sickness, but I don't plan on stopping any time soon ;)

This was a very interesting week, I was barely home (well, my new home). Monday night I went to my parents house because my Aunt and Uncle were staying over because they lost power in the snow storm (they still don't have it). Then I went to my place and watched Casper and Hocus Pocus with my roommate since it was Halloween. Tuesday I went home again after work and my aunt said she and my cousin were going to go to NYC for the day on Wednesday. I was feeling very spur of the moment so I asked my boss if I could take an unplanned day off and, because he is so awesome, he said yes! But I am in the negative for vacation days now...so no more random days off! (except maybe a couple days before Christmas when my cousins from Ohio visit.) So I stayed home Tuesday and Wednesday night and then it was back to business as usual Thursday morning, ha ha. That is a crazy week for me so I need to relax this weekend. (though one of my guy friends will be about an hour away from me on the weekend instead of a couple hours, so I may see him if he asks ;) which I doubt)
I was VERY blabby today, oops! You guys probably don't really care to know what I do with my boring life outside of fashion, but I like sharing with you anyway. Here's what I wore this week! My favorite is Monday, it actually came out way nicer than I was picturing it in my head, LOVE when that happens! (I'll have to wear it again and take better outfit pictures...perhaps if I get bored this weekend ;) )
