This outfit reminds me, very distantly, of a schoolgirl outfit. Tights, knitted sweater, blazer, pleated-ish skirt, messenger bag and mary jane heels. Just switch the blazer for a cardigan, the heels for flats and add a pattern to my skirt and I could be going to catholic school ;) [What? I did say distantly...] Anyway, this is my hair after sleeping in the crazy curls over night. I think I prefer them on day two, I looked too much like a poodle on the first day.
Ignore the awkward position of my head in the first shot...the other long shots came out like poo...this was the best one. In other news, I desperately need this Marc Jacobs jacket in the next size up, I get so annoyed whenever I wear it because it doesn't fit perfectly! And that is depressing because it is my favorite blazer.
Top: ? (TJ Maxx) $10, Blazer: Marc by Marc Jacobs (eBay), Skirt: Old Navy hand-me-down, Heels: Forever 21 $25, Watch: Michael Kors, Purse: Mulberry won from The Flower Girl, Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs shopbop gift card, Nail Polish: Chanel Vamp and Chanel Péridot
As many of you probably saw, the Jason Wu for Target lookbook (and prices) was released yesterday and I am COMPLETELY in love! I think this is my favorite designer collaboration so far! The prices range from 19.99 to 59.99, pretty darn good for a Jason Wu piece. Now the question remains...what pieces to buy?! I'm posting my favorite looks below, it is going to be so hard deciding what pieces to get, I may have to blow a lot of money ;)
I am hoping to get my hands on the following [I obviously wouldn't keep it all, but I'd like to see how they look on me]: textured top in gold, pleated skirt in black, trench coat in black, long sleeved blouse in blush, lace-printed skirt, pleated shift dress in navy dots, sleeveless top with sheer panel in navy, pleated skirt in navy floral, long sleeve sweater in red, pleated blouse in red, cuffed shorts in blue, poplin dress in navy, sailor sweater in black/cream, long-sleeved blouse in white with black ribbon. *phew*
The Target in my town opens at 8am on February 5th and I hope they have the collection out (other times I went they weren't there....grr!) I really hope they have the collection and there aren't tons of people, otherwise I'll have to resort to the Target website and we all know what a big problem that caused last time. Some of the pieces I want are only available at Target.com so I may have to buy those before going to the store...meaning I have to get up SUPER early or stay up all night... Will you be heading to a Target store or shopping online on the big day?
February 5th is also Super Bowl Sunday...so shopping the collection will be sort of a pre-game for many of us, ha ha. I'm not normally a football fan but I do watch the Super Bowl.

*sings Back in Time from Back to the Future* Yes, I am a geek like that. Moving on, Sunday night I decided I wanted to try and pin curl my hair like the lovely Annabeth did a while ago, it also reminded me of Rory's hair in this episode of Gilmore Girls [which was on yesterday, oddly enough]. I was too lazy to look at tutorials and such so I just winged it. After my shower I rolled up my hair in small sections and pinned it to my head, then I put on a scarf so I could sleep in them. Monday morning I took out the bobby pins and voila, fun curls! I opted to just leave it all flowing crazily instead of pinning my hair under my ears, I like when my hair blocks my face (I'm weird like that.) I think it came out pretty good for my first try! Everyone at worked loved it, I've never gotten so many compliments on my hair before...I was called "sassy" by one guy and "fashion model" by another, ha ha.
Since my hair was so out there I went for a simple top, which reminded me a bit of this photo of Marilyn Monroe, and then went a bit crazier on the bottom with my skirt and boots! So this is a mix of 50s style and I have no idea what else... Should I do my hair like this more often? Or be lazy and leave it straight all the time, ha ha. (when it's straight I don't do anything...I just let it dry)
Sweater: French Connection (TJ Maxx) gift, Skirt: American Eagle $?, Boots: Vintage (eBay) $11
I also decided to be a bit risque and took some photos where it looked like I was just wearing my jacket, ha ha. I was getting into the Marilyn Monroe spirit! [I actually wore my purple DKNY coat to work because this would have been a bit too crazy, but I liked it for the photos]

Today I wanted to share some looks from one of my new favorite blogs, Le Salt Lake. I've only been following her for a few months, but I have a bit of a blogger crush, you girls know what I mean, ha ha. It was one of those blogs where I started following and then had to go back through the archives to see all her outfits. Very few blogs have that affect on me. If you aren't following her already, you need to! She has such an amazing, laid back, style.

Everyone is obsessed with all the young movie stars these days and I am no different. Today I thought I would share with you some of my girl style crushes [in no particular order and only 2011 outfits]! I definitely had more but it took forever to get pictures for these few, ha ha. Perhaps I'll do another edition soon. Who are your favorite stylish starlets?
Elle Fanning: This 13 year old has impeccable taste! One of my favorite things about Elle is that she dresses her age and doesn't try to be a grown up. She is so adorable and I know she will be a huge style icon when she's older.
Dakota Fanning: Elle's older sis sure knows a thing or two about fashion as well! Dakota has a much more serious and edgy style and is less whimsical than her younger sister, but that is why I love her style so much.
Emma Watson: Everyone knows I've been obsessed with Emma's style for forever, so she had to make the list. I can't wait until her hair grows back out though...I miss it.
Clemence Poesy: Another Potter girl with AMAZING style. Clemence is so gorgeous and looks like a fairy, ha ha. And how can you not love her French accent?
Georgie Henley: Another one of the young girls on this list, Georgie is such a cutie and always looks great. What is it with British girls and always looking perfect?

The first week of the new year is over, it wasn't too horrible. We had Monday off, which was good, I only left the house for about an hour and a half to get groceries and a Duchess hotdog (long dog with ketchup and bacon) for lunch, but I took a photo anyway. If you are ever on the East Coast and see a Duchess make sure to go there for a hot dog...they are DELICIOUS! The rest of the week was full of work and watching movies and Gilmore Girls.
I wore my other new sweaters this week (Monday and Tuesday), the second one is a tank top which is nice because it won't add extra bulk. I had been looking for a white (or any color) fisherman knit sweater and finally found it at TJ Maxx. Funnily enough, it was made in Ireland and came with a fun tag with information on each of the stitches. And the weird thing is, I used to HATE turtlenecks (I feel like they're choking me) but I have been obsessed with them lately!!! Funny how things change as you get older, right?

Yesterday, Net-a-Porter took an additional 20% off ALL of their sale clothing, this is their last reduction so make sure to snap up what you want now! In honor of the sale I decided to come up with a dream outfit using only pieces on sale! Haev you snatched anything up yet? I've been thinking about a few pieces [the skirt below, for example] but I'm resisting...though I do have some Christmas money lying around.
This outfit is a little coocoo with colors of the accessories and the turtleneck and then with the textures, but I love it anyway, ha ha. Let's just pretend that the shoes, ipad case and turtleneck are the same color ;)
Sweater: Burberry Prorsum $518
Turtleneck: MIH Jeans $58
Skirt: Marc by Marc Jacobs $172
Pumps: Alexandre Birman $220
iPad Case: DKNY $40

A quick post today to share my newest piece! It is a gorgeous Mulberry scotchgrain handbag I won from Becky May aka The Flower Girl! I never thought I would own a Mulberry bag, and now I do! YAY! It arrived in the mail yesterday so I stopped back home (my parents house) to pick it up. It's the perfect size, so it will definitely be rotated with my new Ralph Lauren purse on the weekends.
