This week was a nice introduction to spring, most days it was in the upper 60s, with the exception of yesterday when it was back to the 40s-50s. Hopefully today we see high temperatures again but the forecast is rain. I don't really have much to say today (which is actually yesterday, because I am writing this on Thursday night as usual.)
Does anyone have exciting plans this weekend? I am planning on grocery shopping and doing a trial packing exercise for my London trip. I need to make sure I can fit everything I need and pick out all my outfits. For those of you that are unaware I've been invited to the Grand Opening celebration for the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter, which opens on March 31st [information here]! Many of the stars will be there and I will be interviewing them on the red carpet. I'm going with two other fandom friends whom I've traveled with before and we have tons of fun stuff planned! So expect tons of photos!
We are planning on doing the Mad Hatter Tea as well as some other teas (we did High Tea at the Ritz over the summer when I went to the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II premiere.) We'll also do the obligatory visits to Buckingham Palace, Abbey Road, Platform 9 3/4 and other touristy things. And I will hopefully see my lovely friend Matt Lewis, but he is filming a movie so I don't think he'll have time (he might not even make it to the Grand Opening)...so sad. SO excited, I still can't believe I'm going back after only 7 months! We leave at 10:05 PM on Wednesday the 28th, so less than 2 weeks to go!

Here we go with Part 2 of my Fall 2012 favorites! I already did Burberry Prorsum and a Part 1 roundup. After this I'll just be posting favorites from Marc Jacobs, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Rebecca Taylor!
3.1 Phillip Lim: You know me and dark, rich colors, so this collection was love at first sight!
Michael Kors: I always love Michael Kors and this was no different. I really want to recreate the top right outfit, I just need the sequin skirt because I already have a huge sweater and tan sandals.
Miu Miu: Again with awesome rich colors! My favorites below: purple, teal & burgundy! Makeup is a bit odd...
Rodarte: I like that this isn't as wild as Rodarte has been in the past but it's unique & you can still tell who made it!

Before I get to my outfit I wanted to share with you the awesome fact that The Outnet's Clearance Sale started yesterday on the US and International sites!! Thousands of designer items by runway favourites will be reduced by up to 85%. Make sure to check it out for AMAZING designer deals before it closes on March 20th!
This week has been amazing! Monday it was 42 degrees when I was leaving for work, that's crazy! AND it was 70 degrees when I left work, that is insane for March! So far this week I have been feeling normal again and not as stressed at work. It's good to laugh and be crazy again, depression doesn't suit me. I decided to start the week of with some new purchases, my Guess jeans and Steve Madden James wedges!

I meant to start posting these a while ago but other things came up...anyway, here are some of my favorite looks from Fashion Week. This is going to be in a couple posts because there are a lot. I won't say much about the collections because the post will be kinda long even without words.
Anna Sui: LOVE the Harry Potter-esque glasses and all the prints!
J.Crew: They just keep getting better and better...LOVE!
Mary Katrantzou: Awesome prints as always, but this time she didn't go as wild!
Oscar de la Renta: Beautiful and laadylike, as usual! I love the teal!

I have come to the conclusion that stress and I do NOT agree with one another. Over the past week I did FAR too much shopping. It's like Rebecca Bloomwood says in Confessions of a Shopaholic, " When I shop, the world gets better, and the world is better...but then it's not, and I need to do it again."
So who's ready for a huge roundup of all my latest purchases? I was smart with my shopping though and almost everything was on sale or bought with a coupon. I'm going to do what I used to do and show how much I saved off retail prices. I know you are all very excited about that. But, after all, this blog is mostly about affordable fashion even though I do post a lot about my lusts.
OASAP: I had a bit of money left to spend at OASAP, my newest sponsor and I got these two adorable rings! I have a thing for animal jewelry. Buy: Retro Cute Owl Ring and Retro Cute Mouselet Ring
Zara: This one I sort of cheated on. I had money in my PayPal that I didn't add to my bank account yet, so I counted it as free money and bought 2 pairs of shorts at Zara, so they were full price. $59.90 each. I needed a small in the floral shorts, but they only had a medium so I'm dealing with it, they are only a teeny bit big ha ha.
DSW: This was a good deal, until I added the second pair of shoes. But they are for my cousin's wedding and I didn't buy a dress so I allowed myself to splurge on the shoes. I'm still not sure about the Marc Jacobs ones, I think I want a higher heel for the wedding... I also got double reward points on my order and a free bag, so another $15 coupon is on it's way!
31 Bits: I also ordered another bracelet from 31 Bits, this time it's a wrap bracelet, so fun!
Lord & Taylor: This is the big deal! My mom, sister and I went to Lord and Taylor so they could look for dresses for my cousin's wedding. I went just to tag along. I had 15% off to use for opening up a charge card with them AND they were having an extra 10% off sale if you use your card...SCORE! All together we spent $184 (that's not counting tax), the retail price of everything added up to $1119; PERFECTION! We went through the dresses and then proceeded to check out that Extra 60% off section where I really went to town. I bought 5 things and only spent $70 [it was actually $80, but they forgot to charge my sister for a dress so we split up what she saved so I got $10 off my total]!!
So that is my tip of the day. When shopping at Lord and Taylor make sure you have their credit card (you don't even have to use it all the time), then wait for their extra 10% off sales and shop ONLY in the clearance section, you'll be amazed at what you find! It's even better if you have an additional coupon to add on top of the 10% like I had this time. I had to leave behind a few gems, but I got the following:
TOTAL Lord and Taylor Savings:
Spent: $70.52
Retail: $495
Saved: $425

MICHAEL Michael Kors Dress [similar] I think I tried on this dress a while ago, but of course I wouldn't pay full price for it. I saw it peeking out in the clearance section and grabbed it! It's a medium so its a bit big under the arms, but I can deal with it! Paid: $18.35 Sale: $59.98 - 60% extra - 15% - 10% Retail: $120 Saved: $101.65 |
BCBG Skirt (I already have a skirt like this, that you ladies see all the time, but it was such a good deal and I liked the belt, and just a belt would cost as much as buying the skirt with the belt, so it was a no brainer) Paid: $18.05 Sale: $58.98 - 60% extra - 15% - 10% Retail: $118 Saved: $99.95 |
|
Lauren Ralph Lauren "Paskalle" Sweater This is an XL but I loved it and it is going to be great to use as a light coat in Spring! This was actually supposed to be an extra 50%, but the lady made it 60%! WOO! Paid: $24.32 Sale: $79.48 - 60% extra - 15% - 10% Retail: $159 Saved: $134.68 |
Guess "Brittney" Jeans I had been looking for a pair of colored jeans for a while and stumbled upon these. There was a pair of teal jeans but they were a size too small, so sad! Paid: $14.99 Sale: $48.98 - 60% extra - 15% - 10% Retail: $98 Saved: $83.01 |
TOTAL Lord and Taylor Savings:
Spent: $70.52

Goodbye insane week number 2, this week wasn't as bad work-wise but health-wise it was worse! I had to stay home on Tuesday because I wasn't feeling well and then on Thursday I was sent home early because my back was DEAD...it hurt so bad (probably from all my work stress). And it is still hurting so I am off to my Aunt's house tonight for a massage. Thank goodness I'm related to a massage therapist! After my massage we're going to have dinner and then I'm spending the night. Enough complaining though, I hate that all I've been doing lately is ranting on about annoying things, so on to happier thoughts:
This week the weather was BEAUTIFUL! We had temperatures in the 50s and low 60s...that is amazing for this time of year! We've barely had a Winter, it's so weird. I could have used a nice big snowstorm but a few little ones will suffice. I also wore my hair straight for the first time in a while this week (unless you count the blogger meetup). My hair is naturally straight but I'm lazy so I usually put it in a bun right after I shower and sleep with it that way so its wavy in the morning.
And yes, I wore the same pants on Friday as on Thursday, and I'll wear them again tomorrow too...stress is killing me so I'm resorting to comfortable favorites. Nothing I was picking out was good so I gave up. Does that ever happen to you?

I have been seeing designer doppelgangers everywhere the past few days! These next 3 were all found at TopShop! Unfortunately the Miu Miu's and Chloé's are no longer available. Fortunately, they could show up on The Outnet in a few months, so keep your eyes peeled! Which ones do you prefer, designer or doppelganger?
Miu Miu Glitter-finished leather and calf hair pumps - $650
Topshop Jamaica Curve Heel Glitz Shoes- $110
I actually prefer the Topshop ones here, but only because the calf-hair on the Miu Mius is a bit odd. They had them at SAKS in NYC when I met Jamie-Lee over the summer and I almost bought them, but resisted.
Chloé Watersnake and patent-leather pumps - $650
Topshop Spector Contrast Back Platforms - $124
Okay, so the print switched places for these shoes but they have the same feeling and that's all that really matters. There were a few versions of these Chloe's but these brown ones were my favorites.
Yves Saint Laurent Opyum suede pumps - $665
Topshop Gilmore Contrast Toe Points - $120
In this case I prefer the muted color Yves Saint Laurent a lot more than the Topshop, but only because I like muted colors (and the colors are perfection!) But I know a lot of you girls like bright colors so I included these as well!
I am still obsessed with the YSL's but $665 i a bit too much for me to spend...maybe if they go on sale. [Hopefully this doesn't become a repeat of the Miu Miu leopard sandal debacle & I can't stop thinking about them...]

We all know how obsessed I am with Net-a-Porter, I mean I post about them often enough, so when they sent me the Spring/Summer 2012 issue of their magazine I was ecstatic! I spent my Saturday afternoon devouring the magazine. It is chock full of gorgeous clothes and showcases the hot trends of the season! It will definitely be one of my go to places for inspiration when I don't know what to wear in the morning. You can buy your own copy for $11 at Net-a-Porter!
See some of my favorite spreads and pieces below:

But I can usually resist, which is why I don't have every single color. ;) The colors shown below are: Riva, Vamp, Paradoxal, Peridot and my newest addition, April!
Take your front row seat as we walk you through the 10 trends that define the season, from Print Mania and Extreme Sports to Global Traveler. Plus meet the new crop of super chic It Girls watching, wearing and inspiring the collections, and find out which Spring Summer 2012 must-have bags, shoes and accessories are heading straight to the top of our wish lists.
As I was perusing Zara over the weekend and lusting over clothes I came across a pair of shorts that really reminded me of the Edun Spring 2012 collection, so of course I fell in love! I was a bad girl on Saturday night and ordered them along with a pair of floral shorts. I don't own any good shorts (okay one pair, but they are boring khakis) so they will be perfect for those hot Summer days and in the Spring with blazers!
Edun Shorts $285
Zara Shorts $60
Edun Top (seen in red runway shot) $300
They also have these pants similar to these Edun ones. I am also very obsessed with the Edun dress below, the color, mixing of prints...everything! I want to splurge so bad but I am resisting (especially since I bought this Edun dress from The Outnet with a gift card I won).
