I feel like my blog is a constant advertisement for net-a-porter. If you haven't noticed I can't go a few days without mentioning the store in a post, but I can't help it! They're my favorite store and place for inspiration! I think they should offer me a job ;) (just kidding, even though I would LOVE that)
Anyway, here are my current lusts and items I'm hoping are in the End of Season sale, which I have a feeling will be coming soon (I know a few probably won't be in the sale, like the Pistols, but I love them so I included them anyway)! I've been saving up so I can splurge on a couple items, hopefully not more than that though...I don't think my bank account would appreciate me wiping it out on clothes. No matter how much I would like to. [You can expect another post on net-a-porter items once the sale starts]

The weather was AMAZING this past weekend (but now we're back to rain...welcome to Connecticut...)! So when I went out to lunch with a friend I decided to wear my new top from Sugarlips. It was giving me a bit of a 70's vibe so I decided to break out my new Free People jeans for the first time! I still have another 70's themed outfit to wear with them so expect to see it soon, if it ever gets warm again!! I finished off the look with my Burberry espadrilles and fun wrap bracelet from 31 Bits! It was probably a bit hot for this outfit, but I really wanted to wear the jeans. (You also get to see Hugo, my car, in this post, hooray!)
This top is so fun, you can wear it in multiple ways: both shoulders down, both up or one down and one up! So throughout the day you can keep switching it up and people will ask: "Did you change your shirt?!" and you can say: "Nope." Okay, so people won't really think it's a different shirt, but I still think it's pretty darn awesome!
Top c/o Sugarlips, Jeans: Free People (Marshalls) $40, Wedges: Burberry (The Outnet Clearance Sale) $80, Purse: Ralph Lauren gift, Sunglasses: Michael Kors (Marshalls) $20, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelet: 31 Bits, Flower Ring: Forever 21 gift, Other Rings: Mom's
P.S. I'm really into naming my outfits after Beatles songs lately...haha. I really want to name one after A Horse With No Name (by America), but none of my outfits seem to fit that...shame (guess I need to buy a horse shirt!)

I have a wonderful story for you all today. It all starts with these amazing Current/Elliott leopard print jeans. [This is going to be a super long post, so feel free to skip down to the photos]
As you all must know by now, I religiously check NET-A-PORTER every Monday, Wednesday & Friday to check the "What's New" items. We also know that I am leopard obsessed. So one day I was scrolling along, drooling over various designer items, and my eyes grazed over the jeans. I immediately fell in love!! Leopard + maroon is a dream combo for me. They were promptly added to my wish list and featured in one of my "Current Lusts" posts and finally filed under the "I'll never be able to buy them" section of my brain. Because, really, who can afford to spend $200 on maroon leopard print jeans...I don't even pay that for regular jeans (but I am also cheap)! They may be in the NET-A-PORTER end of season sale, so if you love them keep your eyes peeled if you want them too!
That was all over 6 months ago, but at the beginning of May I got my daily email from Rue La La saying it was their Final Sale: Act 1! I figured I would check it out and not buy anything (like I do with every sale) and everything would be peachy. BUT then I see the name Current/Elliott under the brands...my heart stopped and I clicked on it. And as I was scrolling down the page, there they were: the jeans!!! For $59.90!!!! There was only ONE left so I sadly clicked to see what size it was figuring it wouldn't be my size. Amazingly it was my size, so I stopped breathing for a moment and once I regained my composure I quickly checked out hoping I would be fast enough to grab them!
As you can see from the photos below, I was successful! I got my dream jeans for almost 70% off! AND I had $40 in my paypal (which as we all know isn't real money *wink wink*) so I'm telling myself they were only $20 ;) Have you guys scored anything recently on Rue La La?
I couldn't wait to wear them so I threw them on with my Marc Jacobs tee on Friday to go out to Chili's with my best friends (I am addicted to Chili's chips & salsa...) I also used the awesome clutch that Christine gave me and the other girls at our blogger meetup a week and a half ago.
Tee: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Marshalls) $25, Jeans: Current/Elliott via Rue La La $60, Heels: Guess (Marhsalls) $40, Watch: Michael Kors, Clutch c/o delachic, Rings: Mom's

Once again it was a very icky week! Spring needs to stick, we've had a few days of amazing weather but those are followed by rainy days. No good! This weekend I am in for some much needed relaxation, no shopping allowed though because I'm still saving up for Net-a-Porter's end of season sale...whenever that is. I don't have anything else to say today, so enjoy my outfits!
In other news, yesterday I got a mystery package (see instagram) and when I opened it I saw that it was a Brahmin 'Melbourne - Medium Arno' Croc Embossed Tote from VOGUE (A $245 value)! What a lovely gift to lift up my spirits! Speaking of gifts, a co-worker gave me an adorable purse necklace on Thursday, it even opens up so I can hide things in it! I was thinking a crisp $20 bill in case I get robbed and they don't think to steal my necklace, ha ha.

Do you ever have one of those days where you wake up and don't want to get out of bed, don't want to go to work, don't want to do anything?! Well that has been happening to me more and more lately. I find that when I'm in one of these moods that if I dress like a crazy person I feel much better even if the day sucks. Tuesday was DEFINITELY one of those mornings, so I pulled on my crazy purple pants to lift my spirits. I also wore a beautiful necklace I inherited from my Grandmother after she passed away (10 years ago). Sadly the day only went downhill from there, I won't bore you with all the details but I will say that I am very depressed because my mouse ring broke in half right at the end of the work day...NOT.FUN. Enough with this sad talk, here's my awesome outfit!

The time in between seasons is very confusing to dress for. You don't know whether to wear shorts or tights, sweaters or tanks. The key is to dress in layers so you can adjust your outfit for the weather. Layering works great for the top half of your body, but for the lower half it's a bit more difficult. So I just went with some light flowy pants that keep you warm but also give you a nice healthy breeze. (did anyone notice that Harry Potter reference? Probably not because I'm a psycho and it's a totally random line) I did a bit of subtle print mixing with this look as well. One of my
print mixing tips is mix a small print with a large print, both using
the same color scheme. That way it doesn't overwhelm you. I also mixed girly with edgy/tribal when I chose my accessories.
One of my favorite places to look for affordable pieces is ASOS. They have pieces for every budget, for those of us living off jelly beans to the lucky ones who can afford to dress head to toe in designers. They are also great because they have free shipping, I hate when I have found a great piece and then the shipping turns out to be more than the item! With ASOS you don't worry about that.
Top: Lottie and Hollie $13.92
Blazer: ASOS $45.63
Pants: ASOS $20.87
Necklace: Forever 21 $6.80
Earrings: Forever 21 $4.80
Bracelet: Forever 21 $4.80
Wedges: Forever 21 $24.80

This weekend was so nice and hot (well...warm, but hot for what I'm used to)! Saturday I went to the beach and out to Chilli's and ColdStone with my roommate! Then, of course, Sunday was Mother's Day so I went home for the day to spend it with my mother! We had brunch at my Aunt's house and then I just hung around the house for the rest of the day. I do love lazy weekends!
I have been waiting far too long to wear these Zara shorts so I was doing it no matter what! I was expecting it to be a bit chilly so I was nervous about wearing them, but boy am I glad I did! It was SO perfect out, I could have even worn a tank top... I think this was a great way to debut these though. If you remember I did a dream outfit with these shorts last week (see here), but as I said in the post I'm not brave enough for that much print....yet.

I always enjoy perusing Net-a-Porter's online magazine, it has so much great inspiration! Last week I fell in love with their On Duty/Off Duty shoot. It shows how you can take one really great piece and utilize it for work and play. I am always thinking about how I can take my dressier pieces and wear them on lazy days or my more casual pieces to work. (though my workplace doesn't have a strict dress code) Here are some of my favorite looks from the feature, be sure to check out the magazine to see them all!
I am DYING over the Vera Wang top, Dolce and Gabbana bodysuit (who knew onions could look so sexy!), and obviously the Burberry Prorsum trench and skirt...we all know how Burberry obsessed I am.

Apparently this was black shoes week, ha ha. It was also another week of icky weather. But I won't let that bring me down because tonight I'm having dinner with my lovely blog friends Christine, Lydia and Courtney! It's going to be a lovely night where we stuff our faces and talk about random junk, so excited! Anyone doing anything exciting this weekend? I'm just relaxing on Saturday and spending Sunday with the family for Mother's Day.
I'm putting myself on a spending freeze until Net-a-Porter's end of season sale which should be coming up soon (I hope!)! I have my eye on a few pieces and I hope they are in the sale! Let's see how long I make it…so far I've gone almost a week without buying clothes, ha ha. But I do have a few new purchases from the past couple weeks to help me make it through. This week I wore my awesome new snakeskin pants, aren't they cool and shiny!? (ignore my face in that picture)
P.S. Quickly wanted to let you all know some exciting news from Net-a-Porter!
