Today's gift guide is for the girl who likes all things timeless! She likes high quality pieces that will last a lifetime and doesn't like to skimp on basics. Classic means different things for different people, but the general idea is the same: basic shapes that never go out of style (but I believe they can be any color!) Here are some pieces that a classic girl would love, I wouldn't mind them either. ;)
Jimmy Choo - Gilbert Pumps
Proenza Schouler - PS11
Frame Denim Jeans (I REALLY want these!)
Yves Saint Laurent Dress
Alex Monroe Heart Ring

This past weekend I went on a blogging date with Lydia, Amber, Christine and Tiffany! We went to lunch at my favorite restaurant, The Chowder Pot, then took some outfit photos (which you'll see soon,) and finally did a bit of thrifting!
First up we went to Coco's on the Green where there are tons of great designer pieces! They were having a 20% off everything sale so I was hoping to find something. I made my way around the store and found a bunch of great pieces, though none were in my size. Then I saw a hint of burgundy velvet peeking out at me and picked it out because those are two of my favorite things! It just so happens that it was the matching blazer for my Elie Tahari velvet pants from last year!! It was my size and was only $38, but was marked down to $30 because of the sale. Later, I found out it was called the Alena and retailed for $478, so quite the score if I do say so myself!
Next we went to Sarah's, a thrift store with everything from plates and old video games to clothes and accessories! In there I found an adorable Santa wall hanging for $2 and a huge men's sweater that was $6, but on sale for $1. Needless to say I snatched both of them up!
A pretty successful trip. Below are some photos of the items! (I'm planning on wearing the blazer this week, so expect at least one photo, if not a full outfit post)

The weather this week was so crazy! Monday - Wednesday it was really nice out, except Tuesday morning when it was rainy. Then yesterday it was FREEZING cold, not cool Winter, not cool. Good thing I had my new hat to keep me warm! Today I'm working a bit from home and then this weekend I'm going to a blogger meetup and babysitting. (and hopefully I will have time to watch my Dark Knight Rises DVD, I got it on Tuesday and haven't been able to watch yet!)
I tried to wear flares to work on Tuesday but it was a total bust because walking 1.5 miles each way is not very easy when you have flats on and your pants are too long. I tried to roll them up but they wouldn't stay put, ha ha. Oh well...
In other, more exciting news, I FINALLY got the next size up in the Marc Jacobs blazer I wore on Friday! I've been searching for well over a year because my current one will no longer button (my chest grew when I stopped doing gymnastics.) My bid was only $0.99 until the last 20 seconds when a vulture started to bid, luckily they gave up and it only went up to $6.50! Shipping was $14 though, BUT I had an eBay gift card so I only paid $10.50 in the end. My current blazer is about to have it's 6th birthday, I won that one on eBay in 2006 and it arrived the day before Christmas Eve. I'm going to keep it even though I'll have a new one, call me sentimental but I can't help myself! It can be my 3/4 sleeve, unbuttoned version for when I'm not in the mood for the one that fits properly (which I hope it does.)

Today I'm continuing on with my AndOtherBrands outfits, this is the second (and final) one, see the first look here. In this outfit I'm showcasing a piece from Warehouse, the Animal Print Jewelled Tee. It is so soft, I didn't want to take it off! I also love the fact that it has a necklace built in so you don't have to worry about accessorizing!
Thanks again to Lydia for helping me out with the photos! Sorry for the overload, I couldn't choose my favorites. There were 49 to choose from and I narrowed down to 12, I think that's pretty good!

Welcome to my first gift guide of the year! I'm not exactly sure how many I'll be doing, but there will be at least one. ;) This past Friday while I was at Marshalls I found a perfect gift for someone who loves books and thought I should form a gift guide around it! It's a Penguin Threads book; Penguin redesigned some covers of classic books to make it look like they had been sewn on, they also have a really cool texture to them. I picked up a copy of Little Women for myself because it's one of my favorite films and I don't have a copy of the book.
Little Women $11
In Vogue hardcover book $75
Amazon.com Gift Card

Today I am delighted to introduce you to a new-ish website, AndOtherBrands.com! It is an e-commerce platform that sells clothing from three British brands, two of which I will be discussing this week! I'm sure many of you are already fans of them, but for those of you who aren't they are Warehouse and Oasis. I was already a fan of Oasis (I have a dress that I wear for more formal occasions) and had not heard about Warehouse, but I love it now as well! Each brand has its own unique aesthetic & attitude and they're both a wonderful resource for on-trend, clothing and accessories. Now, with AndOtherBrands, it's easy for those of us not in the UK to get our hands on these brands!
I was sent over a couple pieces from both brands to style for the blog, the only bad thing about this is I had to send them back! But I had such a fun time putting together looks. First up is a Heritage Flare Skirt from Oasis, I am a bit obsessed with the sixties silhouette! Too bad the website is sold out of my size or I'd have to get one. I think this outfit is perfect for a holiday party, don't you agree?
Thanks to the lovely Lydia for helping me out with the photos, she always makes me look so good!
Make sure to check out AndOtherBrands for more amazing pieces!
Skirt: Oasis borrowed $115, Tee: abercrombie kids $10 (old), Blazer: thrifted $35, Sunglasses: Michael Kors (Marshalls) $20, Necklace: Francesca's $22, Heels: Lanvin (Roundabout Consignments) $80

As you all know I am highly obsessed with Net-a-Porter; the most exciting part of my week is getting my "What's New For You This [Monday/Wednesday/Friday]" email. I religiously check it right when it arrives in my inbox...addicted much? Anyway, their US End of Season Sale started last week and I've been agonizing over what to splurge on for myself. Burberry, Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang? Who knows?!
Here are some of my picks from the sale, keep in mind this is only a tiny selection of what I'm mulling over (and some things I'm just dreaming about.) I have a small store credit burning a hole in my online pocket. What do you have your eye on? (apparently I am obsessed with Mulberry's Tiger print ;) )
As always, click the images to go to the product page!
