And to finish off the Harry Potter photo diaries we have Diagon Alley! There are a ton of dragon photos, but how can you not take a ton of pictures of this baby?! I also have at least 10 videos of it breathing fire from different angles. What can I say, I like dragons!

This is the only Harry Potter specific item I brought to wear on my trip. I bought this Gryffindor sweater directly from the place that made it for the movies way back in 2009 (I think, maybe earlier.) Fortunately for fans they sell them at the theme parks now. But I kind of like that mine doesn't have the WB/Universal logo anywhere on it. Makes it more special, ha ha.

Sweater: Lockhaven of Scotland (available at Universal), Tee: Everlane, Jeans: J Brand 'Maria High Rise Skinny' in Supreme (Gilt), Boots: Vince Camuto (Marshalls), Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Shopbop), Necklace: BubuRuby

We interrupt vacation recaps for this special post! Check back tomorrow for more from Florida!

*The boots featured in this post were a gift from Duo Boots. All opinions are my own.*

Earlier this month, Duo Boots emailed to ask if I wanted to participate in their #MyDuo Style Guide campaign.  I was sent a pair of boots to style up in two different ways. I chose the "Ani" Chelsea boot because I was in desperate need of navy shoes, and the style is really cool. I first wore them out to dinner with my friend Kat (outfit #2) and again the following day for some shopping (outfit #1) where I spent way too much money! I actually changed into a new jacket after I bought it, so you're seeing the results of my shopping!

Outfit #1: Blazer: Paul Smith (Roundabout Resale), Sweater: Kenar c/o Marshalls, Jeans: Current/Elliott (The Outnet), Necklace: Mom's, Boots c/o Duo 'Ani'
Outfit #2: Dress: vintage (Twitch Vintage), Blazer: Elie Tahari (Coco's on the Green), Boots c/o Duo 'Ani'

Happy Friday the 13th! What a perfect day to be sharing some magical photos from my vacation! These are from Hogsmeade, the park that opened in 2010 and the Hogwarts Express which opened this Summer. I was going to post both together, but there were too many photos, so I'll share Diagon Alley next week. This is where the bulk of my trip was spent since we took the vacation for the Celebration of Harry Potter. So on Friday, Saturday and Sunday we spent our days pretending to be wizards. And then my friend Kat and I got an extra day on Tuesday since we were stuck in Orlando due to snow up here on the East Coast.

This is what I wore for the first day of the Harry Potter festivities! I wanted to bring outfits that were Harry Potter-esque but not costumey. So here's a Slyherin-ey snakeskin sweater! Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of this outfit during the day, so we had to do it inside the hotel (without the flash) so they're a little grainy.  You can get another glimpse of this look from my 'Pal'entine's Day post.

Sweater: T.Babaton c/o Aritzia & Lucky, Jeans: Mother c/o Marshalls, Sandals: Target

A quick photo diary of our day at Disney and EPCOT.  As I said in yesterday's post, we had lunch at Be Our Guest. For dinner we headed to EPCOT and ate at Restaurant Marrakesh, where I had some delicious chicken and couscous (a weekly staple in my kitchen, so it was fun to eat the authentic version)

We also got stuck on Test Track at EPCOT. We were one of the last groups to go on and luckily the car I was in stopped inside.  Some of my friends got stuck at a 36 degree angle OUTSIDE....scary stuff!

Here is the debut of my awesome new high waisted jeans! I got them during a Gilt sale and they arrived just in time to come on vacation with me. I switched between these and my dark gray jeans the week I was down in Florida.  This is what I wore on our first full day for Magic Kingdom and EPCOT! The weather was so nice and Fall-like - warm during the day and chilly at night, good thing I brought plenty of sweaters.

We had a pretty full day and had so much fun. It's always great being able to spend time with friends who live hours away, isn't it? The magic of the internet keeps us in touch until we get together, but actually talking face to face is wonderful. (I never thought I would say something like that, not usually a face to face gal, guess my social anxiety is getting better)

For MONTHS before our trip I had been trying to get reservations for the Beauty and the Beast restaurant, Be Our Guest. Unfortunately they are always booked up. BUT we majorly lucked out and were able to get a table for lunch without waiting in a huge line.  How does it get any better than that?  By the way, "the grey stuff" is DELICIOUS! ;)
