Lately I've been finding myself throwing jackets over all my outfits even if it's too warm for them. The reason? I'm getting bored with not layering! There's only so many times you can wear a tee or tank without something on top, right?

Jacket: Elie Tahari x DesignNation (Kohl's) Tee: Madewell, Jeans: Current/Elliott, Sandals: Ancient Greek Sandals 'Alethea' (bought in Santorini), Sunglasses: Ray Ban 'Erika' (Ditto),

This is what I wore on Sunday for our family's Labor Day get together. The sweater didn't stay on long but I thought it made the outfit a bit more interesting. One of my uncle's said I looked like the 70s because of my jeans and shoes - which is what I was going for. Unfortunately when I took off the shoes the top part RIPPED from the soles. Just ripped clean off...how does that happen?! See the photo I posted on Instagram here.

Tank: Cynthia Rowley (Marshalls), Sweater: Kohl's, Jeans: Free People (Marshalls), Heels: Jessica Simpson (hand-me-down from Lydia, she got them from TJ Maxx), Sunglasses: Ray Ban 'Emma' (Marshalls)

Sometimes I take my outfit pictures with wet hair. That was the case for these outfit pictures. But what can you do? I don't like to blow dry it so if I take my shower in the morning it is wet most of the day (which is why I usually shower at night.)  I wore this to hang out at my grandma's for the afternoon, it was quite a hot day, Summer definitely doesn't want to leave us, that probably doesn't bode well for Winter. But I don't want to think about that yet.

Sweater: Made by Grandma, Shorts: Zara, Sandals: Sam Edelman c/o ThredUp, Necklace: Grandma's

Last week I was visiting my sister in Pennsylvania. She lives on a golf course with this cute pond! While I spent most of the week in the house working we did have some fun in the evenings and on Wednesday we visited a shopping village and a cave (I promise, it was cool).

I hope everyone in the US is going to enjoy their day off. I imagine I'll be working on a secret project all day (not blog related) but it will still be nice to not have to worry about real work.

Sweater: Ralph Lauren (Good Will), Jeans: Current/Elliott, Sunglasses: Chanel, Sandals: Ancient Greek Sandals 'Clio' (Nordstrom)

I wore this on a perfect end of August day spent with Lydia and Christine. We went to our favorite restaurant, The Chowder Pot, followed by some shopping. I behaved and bought nothing! (Well, technically I bought this Jason Wu for Target dress for my cousin for $5, but that doesn't count.) The weather was so perfect, not too hot, not chilly. Just perfection.

Everything in this outfit, apart from the sunglasses, is at least 2 years old. Gotta love pieces that stick around! This dress will definitely be in my closet until it withers away to nothing (or I grow out of it...)

Dress: Jones New York (Lord & Taylor), Sandals: Seychelles (DSW), Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Net-a-Porter), Sunglasses: Chanel (bought in Europe), Necklace: gifted

Sometimes you just need to wear a printed shirt like a jacket to make an outfit. Remove this one piece and I'm just wearing a tank top and shorts. It's not groundbreaking, but it adds a bit of variety.

Top: thrifted (Good Will), Tank: Forever 21, Shorts: Rag & Bone c/o Marshalls, Sandals: Malu c/o Marshalls, Necklace c/o Serendipity and Grace

This is the companion outfit to the brunch outfit I shared last week. Two weekends ago I headed up to NYC for a girls' night with one of my friends and a bunch of her other friends. She wanted to put together a group that had never met before (apart from her) which was really fun. I got to know some great new friends and came out of my shell a bit.

We started the night by having a late dinner at Antibes Bistro followed by some drinks at The Back Room, one of only two speakeasies in New York City that operated during Prohibition and is still in existence today! Most of you know that I don't drink much (because I can't find anything I like!) but I did try Antibe's namesake cocktail, sadly it was too bubbly for me since there was champagne in it.

I didn't take any photos of my outfit that night so I put the outfit back on just for you guys! ;)

Top: Marshalls, Skirt: T by Alexander Wang (Net-a-Porter), Pumps: Jimmy Choo (Roundabout Resale), Necklace: House of Harlow (South Moon Under)

I've been thinking of ways to wear this crop top without jeans and thought I would try it with this high waisted skirt. I wore it with skinny jeans and flared jeans in the past. I think the flared outfit is my favorite, but this skirt one came out pretty good too!

P.S. Can you believe it is September already?! Insanity. At least we still have 21 days left before Summer is officially over, even if Labor Day and school starting marks the unofficial end.

Crop Top: ForeverYoung (Santorini), Skirt: Chanel (Roundabout Resale), Sandals: Manolo Blahnik (Roundabout Resale)

I started off this month with two big purchases during Roundabout Resale's Summer sale.  I picked up two dresses that couldn't be more different. I wanted to get just one but couldn't decide.  I've worn one already and hope to wear the second soon!

At the end of the month I bought two pairs of brown heels from The Real Real (been searching for months.) Funnily enough, both pairs were never worn, even though they were consigned! How lucky did I get?! Thankfully the cheaper pair, by Prada, fit perfectly so it was a no brainer to keep those. The Chloe heels were a teeny bit too big, but that made it easier to return them. Keep an eye out as they'll probably be back in stock on the site soon!

Next month we start with a clean slate as we're entering Fall buying!

I think it's time to get rid of this dress. The only reason I wore it this day was because I hadn't worn it all Summer. You know those pieces that you buy and they don't live up to your expectations but you keep them? I bought this in 2013 (for $63) and unfortunately it was final sale so it was either keep it or try to sell it on eBay. I've only worn it a handful of times, so I should probably give it up. Any takers? It is a lovely dress, just not me.
