Who wouldn't love a pair of custom sneakers?! I'm not a runner or exercise nut by any means, but when Nike was at the RewardStyle party letting us customize our own shoes I was super excited! I decide to go for a more "fashionable" style with my shoes since they are mostly for show. Although they'll come in nice and handy for walking around New York City! These are made of spotted pony hair with purple accents.
For their first look I wore them with a brown sweater, but the great thing about the print I chose is I can wear them with black too! Next time I'll probably wear them with something a little more fitted, not sure they look great with the super loose sweater, too casual.

I'm sure many of you have seen that Han Solo meme* going around as it always does this time of year. I like to think that this is a more stylish version. I wasn't intending on dressing like Han, but I put on the leggings, added tall boots and topped it off with my longer cream sweater. Once I had all three pieces on I realized what I had done. It was only fitting for me to add on the vest in homage to one of my favorite Star Wars characters.
Maybe this could be my Halloween costume - not that I ever go anywhere - I just need a plastic blaster, leg holster and funky belt. Add in a few "Who's scruffy looking?" and "I know"'s and I've got it down! I'll have to untie the vest too, doesn't look very good tied over this sweater...

The time has finally come for my favorite boots to come out of their Summer slumber! It is almost their 4th birthday and I love them just as much as when I first got them. It's rather fitting that I'm posting this look today since it's my birthday on Sunday and I got them as a gift.*
They are a perfect match with this sweater dress which could be a little boring with other shoes. The boots bump up the volume, so to speak. That is also why I opted to add a vest on top as well, for a bit more interest. It's nice to still be able to have bare legs during this time of year, the outfit will feel a little heavier come Winter when I have to wear tights with it.
* Well, I said I wanted them and my mom gave me the money to buy them for my birthday, but same thing.
Dress: Balenciaga Knits (Roundabout Resale), Necklace: Indulgems (Gilt Groupe) Booties: Alexander Wang 'Freja' (The Outnet), Vest: Ella Moss (Marshalls)

There's something oddly satisfying about being able to twist your wrist to see what time it is. You just don't get the same rush looking at your cell phone as you do when looking at a beautiful timepiece. Take the Louis Moinet Memoris chronograph watch. This watch was created to celebrate the bicentenary of the chronograph, which was invented by Moinet in 1816. The Memoris is a 46 mm timepiece, available in pink, gold or white gold, in three limited editions of just 60 pieces each. "Embodying the essence of true commemoration – all the life of the present, rooted in history – it links Louis Moinet’s heritage with the creative vision of the Ateliers that today honour his memory."
It is my dream to one day own a timepiece as intricate as the Memoris. For some reason I equate owning an exquisite watch as the mark of being an adult. Only a real adult can spend thousands of dollars on a watch, right? And how can you not want to own something so timeless and streamlined? It took countless hours to perfect each and every element of the watch. CEO Jean-Marie Schaller says they wanted to completely reinvent the concept of the chronograph combined with a watch and go from watch chronographs to chronograph-watches. A small, but very important change.

"We couldn’t draw inspiration from what had gone before; everyone else worked from the premise that the chronograph was an additional complication on top of the time function. Our starting point was the opposite: sweeping away the past and making the chronograph the heart of our design; the central component to which we then added a time function, rather than the other way round."It is this type of innovation that truly makes Louis Moinet one of the best watch makers. It takes extreme care and devotion to create a true masterpiece that is more than just something pretty to look at. Plenty of companies make beautiful, functional watches. Louis Moinet goes a step further, in my opinion, and their attention to detail is what makes them a prestige watch-making company.
Amongst its countless qualities, Memoris is the first chronograph-watch in history. The inspiration to create this timepiece was thought in an innovative way. The entire chronograph function has been shifted to the dial, becoming the primary function as well as the heart of the design. The chronograph is a central component of the watch to which a time function has been then added. “Energie Plus”, an ingenious, automatic pawl winding system allows the piece to be wound in both directions with a minimum of excess travel and offers a level of precision that is unrivalled in the watch market. Memoris is available in 18K pink gold, 18K white gold rhodium-plated mainplate and 18K white gold-blued mainplate. There are only 3 limited edition and 60 copies by set. Uniqueness is key.
With such as set of incredible features and rarity, no wonder ‘Memoris’ is nominated for the very prestigious Grand Prix d’Horlogerie of Geneva.

Last week was very gloomy with all the rain from Joaquin so I didn't take many outfit pictures. I took this just before it started raining again. The rest of the days with rain I spent in my pjs wrapped in a blanket. Not so photogenic. Anywayyyyy...the last time you saw this sweater I was on a beach, now it's actually sweater weather!

Autumn is the time for light layers. What better to layer with than a fun vest over a long sleeve top? This is my newest vest, bringing my total up to three! And they are all different which is great. This shirt is also one of my favorite buys from the past couple years. It is soft, comfortable AND makes me look super thin. I know, I know, I'm already skinny, but there's just something about it that makes me feel extra good. I think it's the black sleeves and horizontal stripes with varying colors.

CAPES! CASHMERE! COMFY! Excuse the all caps, but this cape is one of my favorite things. Sooo soft it feels lke I'm wearing a blanket, which I basically am. I originally was going to just wear the top and jeans but felt like it was a little boring and decided to add in the cape. I have had this cape for exactly two years today according to this blog post!

What did I tell you, favorite combination. Things are going to be pretty similar around here the next few months. It will either be sweaters or blazers until Spring! I'll try to keep things interesting with some other combinations too, don't want to bore you guys too much.

Happy October!! I'm slowly easing in to wearing boots starting with this lighter pair. I don't think I'm ready for my taller boots yet, but I may change my mind tomorrow and break them out! These early Fall days are perfect for my favorite outfit combination: a simple (or not so simple) sweater and jeans. In this case suede jeans I bought in Spring and was only able to wear once because temperatures warmed up!

My wardrobe update list has been reset for the Fall months. Starting with a clean slate is always nice. Let's see how small I can keep my lists for the next six months! While I behaved on the clothing front this month I was a little bad with other purchases. It was also quarterly tax month so I feel very poor, ha ha. The joys of freelancing!
This month I was fortunate enough to get a bunch of fun new items from my Kohl's photoshoot including something that was on my "need for Fall" list: navy heels! I got ankle boots AND pumps, score! I also bought a cropped sweater from Zara to wear with my high waisted jeans. I'd been searching for one for months and this one was really fun, although a bit pricey. I had some advertising money to use though!
