It's getting too dark too early! Getting outfit pictures is going to be harder and harder until we get to spring forward. My dad used to take my photos when I would go over for dinner, but I'm going to have to make him take pictures of all my outfits on the weekend instead. I've become too lazy to go back to using my tripod during the day. Plus, he's a (hobby) photographer so they always come out better. Funnily enough, my mom had to take these for me last week. Woohoo for helpful family members!

Faux Fur Vest: French Connection (Marshalls), Cashmere Sweater: Everlane, Jeans: Free People (eBay), Necklace: Geoclassics, Bag: Etienne Aigner (thrifted), Flats: Chanel (eBay)

Hello, new boots! I picked these up at Marshalls a couple weekends ago. They were my first actual purchase (aka not made with advertising money or birthday money) in a couple months so I'm pretty proud of myself. Ha ha. Still pricey, but I pride myself on my ability to get designer clothes for less. 4 pieces in this look are designer and I didn't pay full price for any of them. Most I paid less than 35% of the retail price.

Last week I took a mini trip to New York City for some Fantastic Beasts fun. I was in the city  from Wednesday evening to Sunday afternoon, but I worked from a hotel on Thursday and Friday. The trip was in two parts. Part 1: Help out a friend at the premiere. Part 2: Visit with friends in Jersey City and go see the film at Carnegie Hall with one of my best friends.

I was reminded how much I love the Harry Potter fandom. The world premiere of J.K. Rowling's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was held in New York City. While I wasn't invited to the premiere this time around, I went anyway to help MuggleNet with their social media. It was a cold evening and I spent a couple hours with my arm held up in the air recording the fans waiting for actors to arrive. When J.K. Rowling and Eddie Redmayne made there way over madness ensued. I was even interviewed by Warwick Davis for an upcoming documentary he's doing! I'm not used to being the interviewee so that was an interesting experience!

Flash forward to Saturday and a perfect New York day. My friend and I had a lazy morning and then he and I headed out to lunch at Pure Thai Cookhouse. We arrived 5 minutes after they opened and it was already almost full. The food was delicious, I had some vegetable spring rolls and chicken pad thai. YUMMM. After that we headed to Bibble & Sip to see if they had any fun desserts left, sadly they just had their famous cream puffs (which I'm not a fan of.) We ended up at another bakery where I got a french macaron and hazelnut and chocolate mousse sphere.

After that we met up with a few other friends and then took a walk through Central Park before heading to Carnegie Hall to see the movie! It. Was. FANTASTIC. I wrote a spoiler free review for my Harry Potter site.  Don’t forget to get your tickets to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them ahead of it’s release on November 18th - or tonight in some areas!!

I didn't take any outfit photos but here are some pictures from the weekend.

This is the THIRD time I've been this close to Eddie Redmayne without meeting him. I've been a fan since he modeled for Burberry YEARS ago. One day I'll be able to say Hi! Ha ha.

It's almost time!!!!!!!!

Patiently waiting in line
Another outfit with my trinket embellished sweater! This time I went with super skinny jeans and over the knee boots. I feel like I can pair it with anything, the only thing that makes it different from a basic sweater is the "trinkets" and they're silver so they match with everything. So happy with this birthday buy! I'll be wearing the heck out of this over the next few months.

Sweater: Banjo + Matilda (The Outnet), Jeans: J Brand Maria High Rise (The RealReal), Over the Knee Boots: Audrey Brooke 'Mirie' (DSW)

I picked a bad day to wear this sweater. I was also really stupid and got a (free) venti hot chocolate and proceeded to overheat. So after getting home from grocery shopping (and a Target trip) with my mom I changed clothes. Ha ha. Also: wear socks when you wear sneakers. I got sneaker burn on my big toes and blisters on my heels. GAH!!! On the plus side, I quite like all my turquoise accents in this outfit!

Sweater: Inis Crafts (Marshalls), Jeans: Genetic Denim, Sneakers: Ked's (DSW), Necklace: House of Harlow 1960 'Sunburst'

Welcome my newest sweater - the Trinket Embellished sweater from Banjo + Matilda. You saw it last week in my monthly wardrobe roundup and many of you were itching to see how I would style it! Well here's look one - monochromatic with some "crazy" shoes! We had a few warm days last week so I was able to wear my Lanvin sandals again before it becomes too chilly.

Sweater: Banjo + Matilda (The Outnet), Corduroys: Abercrombie & Fitch, Sandals: Lanvin (Net-a-Porter)

I really need to get rid of this sweater but I can't bring myself to do it! The unique shape (half turtleneck, 3/4 sleeve and a little loose in the under-arm area) just makes it so fun. It's just REALLY itchy so I regret having it on after a couple hours...maybe I'll let it go after this Winter. I don't have the cute owl necklace anymore (it broke) so I substituted in R2D2! You can always use a little geek chic in your looks, right?

I almost feel bad for being excited for the New York trip I'm currently on. Every now and then I get waves of sadness remembering what happened early Wednesday morning.  I'm still reeling from the results of the election but am trying to make sense of it all. America as we know it will be different as of January 20th. It's changing already. Many of my friends fear for their safety because of the color of their skin, religious beliefs or who they love. It makes me incredibly sad and I can't really put it into words. So all I'll say for now is, we need to fight harder than ever for our rights and stay strong.

Sweater: Zara, Skirt: Siena Style (Coco's $10 sale), Leopard Sandals: Miu Miu (eBay), Tights c/o Wolford

The Original:
Not too much to say about this outfit other than the fact that it's super comfy! I'm getting SUPER pumped for the rest of this week. Most importantly I'm going to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them at Carnegie Hall with one of my best friends on Saturday! Really glad I snagged tickets back in June, they sold out SUPER fast. I'll be feet away from J.K. Rowling and Eddie Redmayne, who I've been obsessed with since he modeled for Burberry (before everyone knew his name.)

I will also be at the premiere in New York City Thursday night helping with social media posts for MuggleNet (cheating on my own website for the evening.) Sadly I won't be seeing the movie that night but I'll only have to wait 48 more hours. The movie will be officially released next Friday with early showings on Thursday. Get your tickets now!

P.S. American friends: PLEASE go out and vote today! The future of our country depends on us making the right choice.

Vest: Simply Vera Wang c/o Kohl's, Sweater: Banana Republic, Jeans: J Brand c/o Marshalls, Flats: Chanel (Roundabout Resale)

I may have gone a little overboard with the blue in this outfit. But I finished it off with a crazy green sweater so an overdoes of blue is the least of my worries. These new jeans are SO comfortable. It's like I'm wearing sweatpants, except they're high waisted so sitting for long periods can get a little uncomfortable. But they're super soft and thin.

Suede Jacket: Ralph Lauren (Marshalls) Sweater: French Connection c/o Marshalls, Jeans: J Brand Maria High Rise (The RealReal), Boots: Candies c/o Kohl's

After a bit of a break, here's the second outfit from when I visited my sister a couple weekends ago (first here.) I had my dad take these photos really quick so I didn't do my usual check and my necklace is a bit screwy! And we weren't paying attention to the sun so the sweater is 2 different colors, haha! The price we pay for rushing.

Sweater: Abercombie & Fitch, Jeans: Free People 'Jax' patched skinny, Flats: Burberry Prorsum (net-a-porter), Necklace: BijouLimon (etsy), Bag: Emm Kuo (Roundabout Resale), Sunglasses: Prada via Ditto Endless Eyewear
