I was only in the office on Wednesday and Thursday this week because the train crash last Friday made it impossible to get there without taking FOREVER. Seriously, one guy on the news said it took him 4 hours to get from Grand Central to his stop, which should only take an hour and a half. Wowza. They had shuttles running to get you from the closed stations to the first open one, so that was a hassle as well.  Luckily I can work from home when I have to, so it was not a big deal.

It's also a 3 day weekend, woohoo!! Those are the best, aren't they? It gives you something to look forward to during the week and then the next week is short. I think I might stop by Roundabout Resale in Westport in the morning on Monday, see if anything catches my fancy. And on Sunday we're having family over for a barbeque.  I also have a date tonight to see Star Trek Into Darkness with my ex-roommate. WOO!  What are your plans?

Wednesday: Top: Emanuel Ungaro (Coco's $10 Sale), Jeans: Genetic Denim c/o Piperlime & Lucky, Wedges: Steve Madden (Marshalls), Necklace: Francesca's, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Earrings: Urban Outfitters, Rings: Urban Outfitters & Mom's

Thursday: Top: Equipment (Marshalls), Pants: American Eagle (gift card), Sandals: Seychelles (DSW), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Earrings: Urban Outfitters, Rings: Urban Outfitters & Mom's

This is how I'm feeling right now! Warmth is finally coming to stay so we can shed off our layers! This is a cute ad for Warehouse, a UK based clothing brand.  The end is particularly amusing, ha ha. Thanks to StyleHousePR for sending over the video!

And here's a continuation of Memorial Day sales, I'll keep updating it:
Here is what I would love to be wearing for our family picnic on Sunday, unfortunately I don't own any of the pieces.  If it were a dressier affair I would love to wear this shift dress. But I will come up with an equally great outfit with clothes already in my closet. Unless my Zara order comes in before that, cross your fingers. I'll leave you in suspense for what I got, but you can assume it came from this post!

It's Memorial Day so you gotta represent the US in some form, whether its red, white or blue or any combination of them! It might be a liiiiitle cold for shorts, but whatever, we can suck it up (or swap them out for jeans!)
Banjo & Matilda Sweater
Koral Trouser Shorts (OR Frame Denim Jeans)

Anya Hindmarch Shoulder Bag

For today's post enjoy some photos of Emma Watson at the Cannes Film Festival. She was there to promote her new film The Bling Ring by Sophia Coppola. I love her so much, and I'm glad her hair is finally long-ish again. I got used to her short cut, but I'll always love her with long hair best.  She is one of my main fashion icons (when we're talking celebrity influences.) She is always experimenting with new things but always stays true to herself.

Last week I was sent a fun pre-colored eyeshadow applicator kit from Eye Majic; they make applying layered eyeshadow quick and easy. The kit ($19.95) included 2 of the pre-colored applicators, one eye liner, one mascara, a lip gloss, a lip liner and a built-in mirror. The kit comes in a cute little travel case that's easy to throw into your purse.  They also sell a pack of 16 applicators (19.95) or you can buy single applications in sets of 2, 5 or 10.  From a press release:
Summer is just around the corner, and Eye Majic has so many great hues to help you update your summer makeup bag. Eye Majic is the revolutionary pre-colored eye shadow applicators that help you achieve a professional-quality look in just seconds. The foam applicators allow you to create a layered look by simply pressing them to your eyelid and then blending. Whether you're going for muted neutrals or bold summer hues, Eye Majic has a shade for everyone.

For the purpose of this post I only used the eyeshadow applicator along with the rest of my usual makeup. All it takes is 3 simple steps: Apply (hold for 2-4 seconds,) Slide and Remove! You can also use the other side of the applicator to blend the shadow and make it look more natural. It does take a little practice to get a clean look. As you can see, in the third photo my left eye is a bit messy because it was my first try, then my right eye is much cleaner.

And the finished product after a bit of cleanup with makeup remover and a Q-tip! By the looks of the applicator it looks like I can possibly get a second use out of them, which is always a good thing.  Overall this is a really great product and I would definitely recommend it! You just have to be careful and practice to get the perfect effect.

*I received this product for free for the purpose of this review and received no monetary compensation, my opinions are my own.

Behold, my outfit for my friend's graduation party! It was a lot of fun, although very cold! It was supposed to be in the 70s, but it definitely was not. At one point we got into a conversation with one of his Aunt's about my weird eating habits (I am very picky) and my social phobia. She was very intrigued, ha ha.  I miss seeing them (the boys and their parents) all the time, we used to have so much fun. But now all us children are grownup (and the boys live in NYC and Boston) so we don't see each other that much. Depressing!

Happy almost weekend!  This week was pretty normal, except yesterday I went to a Birchbox event for the launch of Caudalie Divine Legs. It's a new tinted body lotion to give legs a touch of sun without the use of a self-tanner. When we first arrived one of the employees showed us how it worked on our arms - look at the difference!  Then we got our other arm and legs done, such a fun product.  We also got to try the Divine Oil, Crushed Cabernet Scrub and Beauty Elixir.  I ended up buying a Caudalie Favorites pack that included the Divine Oil, Beauty Elixir, Lip Conditioner, Hand & Nail Cream and Makeup Remover. I can't wait to try it all out!

This weekend I'll be heading to a graduation party for one of my oldest friends.  He is the son of my parents best friends so I've known him since he was born (I'm only 3 years older than him though, ha ha.) We haven't seen them in a while so it should be fun, although there will be a lot of people so I'll be nervous.

On Tuesday while I was watching Star Trek I decided to do a sweep of Zara's site to see if anything caught my eye. (I know...Star Trek + Zara don't really mix, but what can I say, I'm a lover of many things.)  Unfortunately a TON of pieces called my name. I put everything I liked in my cart, just for fun, and the total came to $1,264.40 for 18 items. HAH.  Below is a selection of some of the pieces I would love to add to my closet, perhaps I'll pick up a couple (if I do I might have to return the black dress I bought at Lord & Taylor this weekend.) On a side note, I am OBSESSED with this dress, too bad it sold out...better keep an eye out or check out a store when I'm in NYC for work.

As I've mentioned a couple times in the past few posts, my brother graduated from college on Sunday.  Here's what I wore for the ceremony. It's my first time going tightless this year (unless you count wearing sheer pantyhose on Easter as tightless.) I love this new dress from Lord & Taylor. Giraffe print? Yes, please!

I've been pretty good about shopping lately and haven't bought much but I went a little crazy this weekend. On Saturday I headed to Lord & Taylor with my mom because we had a 20% off coupon AND $20 off of a $40 purchase.  My mom didn't find anything so I was able to use her $20 off coupon, yay!

First, I got a new Chanel nail polish in Azure, and a new Rogue Coco Shine lipstickin Bonheur.  With the $20 off it came to $43. That's still a huge splurge, but much better than $63, right?

I also picked up this Jones New York dress in a blue giraffe print, so fun! It was regularly priced at $134, was on sale for $80 and then an extra 50% of making it 40. THEN we took off 20% and part of the $20, making it about $28.

I also got this cute Michael Kors top which will be perfect for those super hot Summer days. It was $39.50 with 20% off and part of the $20 off, so it was about $25. I almost picked up this Michael Kors Kimono top but it didn't make the cut when I was narrowing everything down.

This was a major splurge, coming out to $77 ($109 wit 20% off and part of the $20.) It's a Lord & Taylor piece and I can't seem to find it online anymore which is a huge shame because its adorable! It was the only one in the store so I couldn't leave it there.

And here's a photo of my new DKNY wallet (similar) from Marshalls, only $11 after my gift card!
