Follow Me
We're just over a month into 2014 and I made a couple goals for myself. I don't really make resolutions because I know I won't keep them. But these two goals are something I always strive to do and one is a lot easier than the other.  Marshalls recently challenged me to shop in their stores to help out with these resolutions/goals...no problem!  The first, which I'm featuring today is to never pay full price for fabulous clothes!  I headed to the store knowing there were a few staple items I wanted, but didn't want to pay an arm and a leg. Thankfully Marshalls was there to save the day!

I went in with the objective of finding one great outfit, fortunately (or unfortunately for my wallet) I found two outfits I couldn't leave the store without!  This first outfit features something I have been hunting for since last year: black skinny jeans.  I have wanted to find a pair of J Brand black skinnies and every time I headed to Marshalls they had some - just never in my size (or the ones with the buckles at the ankle, which are cool, but not exactly classic.) I ended up with these "Danica black zip" skinny jeans, not exactly what I wanted, but they fit like a glove!  I then found an adorable fox sweater to pair with them! Did I mention it was all on clearance! Here's the breakdown:

Song of the Day: Foxy Lady (Jimi Hendrix)

J Brand Jeans $220 (regular price) -> $69.99 (Marhsalls price) -> $49.99 (clearance price)
Vertical Design Sweater - $80 (regular price) -> $39.99 (Marhsalls price) -> $29.99 (clearance price)

Jeans: J Brand c/o Marshalls, Sweater: Vertical Design c/o Marshalls, Boots: Chloé (Roundabout Resale), Bag: Chanel, Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's

Stay tuned for my next goal in a couple weeks: cooking at home more instead of just heating up Trader Joe's premade chicken or Ellio's pizza.

* Disclosure: I have received free products or value from Marshalls or The TJX Companies, Inc. in connection with my affiliation with Marshalls Project FAB.
The first few days back at work after a vacation are always the worst, aren't they?  At least I only had to wake up early 2 days this week. Since I was still pretty exhausted from my trip I went for super comfortable outfits. Stay tuned next week for some posts about vacation. Light on the words today.

I wore this outfit before my trip when my sister and I headed to Mother Earth Gallery, a store that carries gorgeous crystals and fossils as well as many other products for the home. When we were little we went there on a field trip to visit their "mine" where kids can go in and dig for treasures. This time we went as adults to buy some gorgeous pieces. I wore my awesome ammonite pendant for the occasion and hoped to find a pair that I could display on a shelf. (I have been wanting larger ones since I bought this.)

Luckily, or unluckily, they had a ton of beautiful fossil pairs to choose from, among other things. I got a medium sized pair and can't wait to find a home for it in my redesigned room (once my new bed comes.)  I also picked up a gorgeous agate wind chime, agate clock and a chakra pendant (see photo below.) I had to resist buying up the whole store, it is amazing! Stuff like that is my other weakness, apart from clothes.

Sweatshirt: Marc Jacobs (Coco's $10 sale), Pants: Current/Elliott (Rue La La), Flats: Chanel (Roundabout Resale), Bag: Chanel, Necklace: Geoclassics, Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's, Watch c/o Lucky & Movado

What I got, minus the wind chime, I'll share that soon I hope!
Sometimes it's hard to decide what to wear, so on this particular(ly foggy) day I had two outfits and switched between them during the day. It was a simple change - swap out a vest for a long cardigan and *poof* a new look! It was also warm enough that I didn't need a jacket, which was nice for the middle of January. Am I the only weirdo who does this? I certainly hope not, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Top c/o Oasis, Jeans: Free People (Marhsalls), Booties: Chloé (Roundabout Resale), Watch: Skagen (Rue La La), Rings: vintage, Brilliant Imports snake ring & Mom's

Cardigan: J.Crew (Roundabout Resale), Vest: French Connection (Marshalls)

What do you think when you hear Chanel? Classic? French? How about Texan? Well that's exactly what we got in the Chanel Pre-Fall 2014 show held in Dallas back in December. I love all the western style infused into the collection. The aztec prints, fringe, and cowboy boots are a great change from what we usually expect from Chanel. Although, I think lately we've learned to expect the unexpected from Karl Lagerfeld.
